I agree, man. I've never been to a concert that featured a mosh pit (since I've only been to Aerosmith and Roger Waters of Pink Floyd), and I just don't get it.

I want to go to a show to chill with some nice weed and enjoy the music, not slam around with a bunch of folks.

Eh, moshing is a good way to get out some aggression without creating animosity. And also, I have a pain fetish so there, that's my excuse.

Yeah most of the shows I go to (aside from PRIMUS last year) are full of a bunch of free-loving hippies, where moshing is replaced with erratic flailing of the arms with glow sticks haha.

Both are equally dangerous.

But I'll admit, I kicked an ass or two at Primus. God that was sweet. ~

Same here baisez... I just got a new tat too lol all done by a needle 3 hours long, felt good lmao..

I don't get why people get so angry because of other people. SO WHAT if we mosh, its our way of releasing.. I didn't expect everyone to like moshing but don't give us a bad name.. And to thefatKid... If you were running around like an idiot in the moshes i was in you would of been OWNED !!!!

Whent to go see slayer, with soulfly about 4 years ago. The pit was insaine, people were going nuts for soulfly. When slayer came out they announced that they would be playing all old stuff. The whole floor opened up i noticed i was standing in the middle of evrything. i ended up getting hit in the face by some little kid. then they played angle of death, i got punched, kicked, some crowed surfer fell on me, and i broke my finger........ the good middle one too. It was ok though, i had 5 joints left for the ride home.

yea sometimes I want to "release" on the face of certain people but it's not a safe way of "releasing".
you can hurt yourself.. and worse, someone else.

LMAO the exact same situation happened to me when i went in a mosh pit before! it waz awesome! it waz nice when a guy yanked me up when i got knocked down too:rasta:!

I love the pit, never been hurt that bad besides the usual bloody lips/noses and shit like that, though.

Moshing came from the Psychobilly and Punk crowd.
Psychos call it wrecking and it's been around for a lot of years now , I once got a black eye about 10 seconds after getting on the floor.
Rules of Wrecking are:
Have fun
Never try to injure another wrecker
If someone falls then the nearest people pick him up .
Anyone trying to cause injuries is forced out.
If you can't take it don't get in.

Safe Wrecking everyone, you can call it moshing if ya want but it will always be The Mutant Wrecking Krew for me.
