i dont see supressing your base instincts and feeling guilty for being human as good for anyone but thats me. if christianity IS somehow true then i'm still sticking with my choices because i just dont think that god really acts out of compassion or with our best interests in mind :D id rather burn in hell than contribute to something wrong

personally i do not beleive in god as christian's do, but i still read the bible. but when i read the bible i look it in the metaphorical way. for instance, in genesis, the whole deal with the apple. what this means to me is that humans can not grasp true knowledge. for you to understand, you must first understand that you understand nothing.
most christians read the bible and understand the writing in the literal way. they actually beleive that noah built the arc and his family were the only people that survived the flood...
this is bull because
1. common sense, the human way, and geography;
people can swim, and theres not that much water, so there would have still been atleast one landmass. also, people are made to survive, we made it through the freakin ice age and dino times. lots of people would hav had time to build a boat.
2. i dont think god would want his people to be entirely imbred!

About the Christian churches and the people who work there; the majority of them are for real. they beleive in god and run the church because they want to save other people's lives. Donation money goes to the utility bills of the church, upkeep, and charity events.
Considering the catholic church,its mainly the same. personally i think that it is very sexist on certain things. and i also think that it is wrong to deny anyone the pleasure and right of the sex act. look what celibacy has done to several of your preists(not all), it has made them homosexual pedophiles. (and im sure most of those sisters are lezzin out in their private quarters... lol, j/k)
myself (this is not bulls***), i beleive in my own "religion" (i dont like to call it a religion, but im too high to think of a better word). I worship Mary Jane as the creator of all things. I use the cannabis plant to elevate myself to a state of being where i can understand her teachings.

I never said it was only the churches job to give. I myself, as a Satanist, have gone out and fed the homeless at homeless shelters. I have given to charity before and not claimed it on my tax forms. As to your point of there being so much hatred towards Christians, this is true, although there is just as much hatred coming from Christians towards people of other beliefs. I cant tell you how many times I have told Christians about my religion, and been told immediately after saying the word Satanist that I am damned to Hell and eternal torment. My own mother, who has read Anton LaVeys "Satanic Bible", still believes that I worship her Catholic version of Lucifer, known falsly to many as Satan. The only way any Christian, other than my mother, has ever tried to help me better my life, when in drastic need of help, was to pray for me. How the fuck does that help me? When I was in drastic need of money so I could get away from my pedophile ex-gf, the only people willing to help me were the Atheists that I knew in the area and the one Satanist that I knew. are you a satanist like the christians portray, or are you a real satanist, a man of science? every single christian ritual came from some pagan ritual... and most of the stories do to.
the christian religion is filled with hatred, factism and beleifism. they go out and force their religion on others , sometimes violently, and then make us seem like the morally deranged ones.
they are arrogant, and they respect no one elses beleifs.
but in witch craft, one of the most important rules is that you keep your beleifs to yourself until asked about them.
and the same way with many others too..
in the history of mankind, christianity has caused wars, attempted genocide, witch hunts, and several random acts of violence.

In answer to your question about what type of Satanist I am, I am a Modern Satanist, or as you call it a real Satanist or a man of science. Modern Satanists do not perform ritual sacrifices of animals or children, as Christians would have you believe. In fact, those are the 2 most commonly respected things in Modern Satanism, simply because of the fact that they have not yet been corrupted by mans many different religions.Quote:

I believe in the "Satanic golden rule" of "Do unto others as they do unto you," instead of the Christian golden rule of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." My reason for the variance in the saying is simple. The 2 of them go hand in hand. If everyone were to do unto others as they would want others to do unto them, then everyone would also be forced to do unto others as they do unto you. Basicly, if someone treats you like shit, it shows that they want to be treated like shit(assuming they are following the Christian golden rule.) So, I see no point in treating them nicely if they have made it quite clear that they do not want to be treated nicely.
As Im sure you may have heard from various Christian groups/people, Satanists worship Satan right? Wrong! Satanism is based on the meaning of the word satan as it was used through out the Christian Bible. It was never used as the name of the Christian devil (whos name according to their own Bible is Lucifer, who was an angel of light, who was stolen from ancient pagan beliefs that Lucifer was the God of light.) The word satan was mearly used to describe one of 2 things. Either something that was opposed to Jesus and his teachings, or someone/something that became an adversary of the Christian belief structure. As a Satanist, I am opposed to any religion or person who teaches that a person must deny their true selves (desires/ personal needs that can only be attained through a "sinful" way) in hopes of reaching a better afterlife that cannot be proven to exsist.
I spend much of my time online debating religion on MSN groups and have come to enjoy teaching about my beliefs to anyone who is interested.
