Hmm, this is indeed a sticky situation. I'm over 18 so I don't have to deal with the "when your 18 you're out" crap anymore. I work and go to school and my parents know I smoke bud. They respect my decision. Why? Because I am a good student and I work and I carry my own weight. If I want to get high, than that it my business. I hear my parents fucking, but I don't knock on their door to tell them to shut the fuck up.
Whats interesting is that your mom flips out, but your dad is really cool with it. I wonder how they get along. Your mom sounds very paranoid and is just being overprotective of you and just wants what best for you, despite the bitching. Maybe she thinks if you smoke weed, than you will move on to harder drugs. You can thank prohibition for that! Well, many years later of smoking weed, I have not graduated to hard drugs and I never will because weed and coke and heroin are way different and I know what happens when you use hard drugs.
But anyway, everyone in America has God given rights protected by the US Constitution regardless if you live with your parents or not. I'm sure a good judge will explain that very clearly to you! You don't inherit rights after 18.
