crispi; the thing with that is, the big side is the side that flips up. the little side is supposed to stay. it's a pitb to get off once it snaps closed. four 3'' net pots will fit on the little side (though i wouldn't do four...) what i was thinking (can you smell the smoke yet? swear something's burning...) is that i can put three 3'' pots in the little side; if i do a run with tiny indica's, i can do three per bucket (the dg could have had plenty of room three to a bucket) and if i want to grow a sativa tree, i can do just the one pot. hmmm.... i do not know...
also, i don't have anything large enough to act as a res for these three. so for now, i'm thinking sepparate. but, i need to put some kind of drain valve at the bottoms, because there is no way i can lift these things full of water, much less lug them out.
hmm, i'd love to use a 6''... maybe i can dremel most of the lip that holds the fixed end of the lid down, so it pops up easy...then i can have an indica bucket and a sativa monster bucket...leaving a third bucket...

:p
Yes DEFINITELY something to drain.....and a way to bring water in easily....about say 45 gallons of it? I have that same sort of funky tops on my rez...1/2 opens if you want and frankly....I hate them. The half that is supposed to stay open doesnt all the way....rant rant . What about some sort of piece of plastic (hard plastic) that you lay accrosse the top....then you can lift all pots out easily by lifting the plastic with the pots in it.
why make yourself use a plastic pot that's not right when buying a cheap dwc system or a paint bucket is so easy? i mean, you'll be spending money on the grow anyway, no reason to skimp just because you found a bucket that might work, unless of course it works well for you, but if it's a pain, why bother?
heh, you don't know me, do you?
Yeah....Scarlet's one of those to whom why in the world would you buy it if you can build it. I, on the other hand, love to buy things. I am what's known as "high maintenance" :D
Back w/ a few pics n ideas ,
The 4 snl x nev. hz. plants were topped 1 week ago today w/ some varried results a lil bit of tucking huge fan leaves in . The masochistic side of me wants to chop some fan leaves soooooo bad because alot of the new growth shoots are being blocked out .:chainsaw: And the extra 3way X mom thats getting flowered on the left - already gettin a lil yellow from my lack of dirt talents . lol .
I have a cpl. ideas -n- wanna experiment a lil w/ dif. stressers verses no stress . Not a very controlled exp. though as 2 plnts are in hydro , and 2 in dirt .
1- I'd like to cut a few fan leaves off w/ a razorblade on 1 .
2- steralize a pair of needlenose pliers and pinch a cpl. fan leaves off another .
3- fold the fan leaves up on 1 plnt n tie it up w/ a plastic coated bread tie .
4- all natural / just tucking .
Im curious about the speed of recovery w/ just an open wound verses the wound being pinched closed - and also if theres any dif. w/ tucking verses folding and the low stress options .
Im def. no cloning guru yet . so no pics yet . 1st try of 3 = grew a few roots but by that time that happened the top of the plants were down right Fugly . Gonna keep trying though w/ lotsa new tricks , ideas and experimentation an Stinkys behalf . Thanx sis . :hippy:
Been playin w/ electricicty in the new room lately and added a pair of 15 min. delays on the 2 -hps. to prevent premie bulb and ballast failures from hotstarts from brownouts and power outages in the ghetto before my nat. gas gen. can catch em .
I have a single 40amp 240v. line into a greenair controller w/ 4-10amp. 120v. outlets all gov. by the same timer. 2- w/ 15 min. delays for the 2 hps , 1-w/ a dual outlet fan speed controller for the 2 - 630cfm hurricanes , and the last outlet for the 6 ft. intellitrac light mover .
Only running 1 blower and 1 hps this grow . Next grow will be in fall / winter w/ less heat and humidity and I'll do 4 or 6 hydro buckets and fill the room and hopefully show off a lil w/ strains I already know rock -n- roll and foot my med. needs . :D
More pics. soon hopefully w/ the dif. methods of meaness , verses kindness and the end results . :greenthumb:
Peace all

Looking good Crispi!
Such a nice clean setup, I bet the concrete helps keep temps down nicely - needs more plants though! Overkill on the fans, Big ol phat cooltube - damn, boy, you bring a tear to this old mans eye... ;)
That is a great setup....think I'll run my stuff over there to your basement pronto. :)
Thanx Tokudai.Quote:

Nice and cool w/ all the concrete but still 80% humidity due to them being cellar dwellers . Damn glad we got a huge dehumidifier going = 40-45% :D
Yep overkill on the blowers , even w/ just 1 - at 630 cfm running , and the other one acting as a giant cork thats still inline = room temps of 75 deg. , = glass c/t surface temp is 85 deg. , and leaf surface temps = 72 deg. all measured w/ temp gun from the hotrod stuff . Gearhead tools in the growroom rock !! I cant get much closer than 6 in. w/o bleaching .
So few plants this time because we've been doing all the flowers for our yard and border plants , 5-6 flats = :hippy: It's the only way I could talk the Mrs. into such a sweet rooms if she could play w/ her flowers too . Fair trade ?
All white , even the dirty industrial epoxied floor which needs a good washing . Looks like a hospital or asylium in there . It could be run as a seald room w/ very little effort but Im not very interested in co2 to be honset .
The ballasts and res. are outside to room too help w/ hum. / temp. Even the incoming cooltube air is filterd so we dont have to dust insides of cooltube via. the furnace filter on wall in the 1 pic. w/ all the darkroom vents for passive exhaust . We only have a 250 cfm booster fan for fresh air intake but they dont seem to mind the room being slightly pressurised .
Hi Weedhound ,
Right now I bet theres room for your stuff too I bet :) it's 10' x 12' .
Peace guys
