Heck, my last move was off-book, too.
But there was something close, "Queen's Quicky Denied," or suppin'...
I expected you to develop your backline rather than send out squatters to cheaply control the center.
Interesting move, though. Throws my knight off balance even from there. Thinkin' about it...
Replying to email, also...

Then I would move Kn - KB3. enguard da bishop
And you would move ???
Well, there's only one safe place to put the bishop.
Right back to Queen 3.
And black steals the first move advantage with a stinkin' pawn move.
If this is correct and you can't find mo' betta move dan dese.
We saved some time, ya?
Black would continue with Kn - QB3
and the board looks like dis;

Green!?

Yeah, it's all good...
Crap. I somehow :stoned: set the board up with both yer bishops on black.
Thought I was pointed at yer knight.
Oh, well. Pretty close.

Well, now dat ya get how tempo changes hands, how 'bout retracting B -Q3 and substituting a mo' betta reality.
Den we learn 2 t'ings 'bout openings.
FYI
When one guy is playing a classic opening, an "odd" move can throw them, but it's risky business in the long run.
Aloha,

Matters not to me.
I'm inclined to force myself to live with my bad decisions. Drives the lesson home, yah?
At the time, it seemed worth a little tempo to interrupt your construction project at the center. The bishop mixup doesn't change the situation much, really.
I can protect my bishop with N - QB3. Develops the knight a little, and if we trade, that develops the knight to a better position (I think).
What do you think? Sheer folly?

Soil thread...
Can't place it.
Was it silly?
The soil thread I REALLY miss got swallowed by the board last big lights-out. :(
There was a guy named John Becker (avatar of Ted Danson) who had invented his own "soilless" medium, comprised of, well, soil components, and mostly dog hair. :wtf:
As the thread went on, the guy got more and more angrily defensive about his mixture. I was about to post and point out that a soil mixture isn't really "soilless," no matter how much poodle chaff you amend it with, when the lights went out for like 2 months.
Where that thread could have taken us... *sigh*
Id'a prolly just wound up indulging my warped sarcasm, so karma-wise, I guess I won out.
I am a child of the universe....:hippy: :hippy: :hippy:

Not to mention your 3 developed piece vs my 1.

Folly is a li'l strong, but I would answer that with , say, Q - Q2
Zat sit good?

Sorry, I'm lost...
Do you mean Q-Q2 would be your next move?
The queen can't get anywhere on that diagonal that your bishop can't get to immediately.
I coulda moved Q - Q3 to back up my bishop, but I'd rather not develop her yet. Too risky, better to use the QN.
Sorry, no meds yet today. :i feel stupid:Doin' some research for my bro.
Also about to transplant my 6" coco tomato (a Husky cherry, grew 'em in dirt pots last season) to an 8" net pot. (Hydro store goes from 5" to 8" with nuttin' in between.) Woulda preferred to use a smaller net pot, just seems more like "hydro, less like "coco."

That's what black would do next.
Your last move was pretty good actually.
That's why The queen is restless.:D

I did a monster tomato bush in a 5" net pot bolted to the lid of a 5 G. bucket.
6' tall an' 5' wide.
Vine, schmine!
She was a bush.
That's what sold me on hydro.
