Demeter, how are those girls doing? HAve you increased your ventilation?
Hi foxy- I flushed everybody thoroughly and even so, one died, but the other sick one seems to be surviving. I am leaving the door open and the other five seem to be okay. I am going to get perlite today and repot the sickly one, and put her near the door opening, and hopefully she will pull through. I gave them all a pep talk yesterday and shook the CO2 bottles- it was a ritual thing:hippy: Thanks so much for the house call and medicine! Mr. MTF is looking happy- I am keeping him lst'd, so he is one long fellow!
First the rain and now the heat! Everything is in the ground now except a few ornamental peppers. The tomatillos are flowering, yum, salsa verde!
I just came in from a long walk - I just got a pair of MBT shoes, and they really do change the way you walk! I try to walk at least 4x per week for an hour and a half, so I am looking forward to seeing how they work.
It was great seeing you- next time, pizza for sure!
pizza, woot.
That MAtanuska Thunderfuck is a female... she may be a burly bitch, but a bitch she is. And yes, she likes bondage. :D
yoiks! I've been away and slow coming back on board...sorry about the damage, Demeter. But the garden sounds like it's well off. yes?
I got my plants and seeds in last Monday and it has been really warm up here (VT) all week. There all going really well. Red Caribbean habinero peppers. super chilli, cayenne, red yellow and banana sweet peppers... three var. tomatos (no tomatillo) eggplant, brocholli, and other stuff (the list is getting crazy here)
Very nice thread you got here!
Shov
Thanks shov! Your garden sounds wonderful! If you come into beantown for the festival in Sept, we could trade produce:hippy:
what festival, Demeter?
Shov
Hempfest- I hope it is still happening this year. The folks at the Boston Common were yapping about not letting it be there this year, but hopefully if it is moved, it will be somewhere pretty. I've been a few times, but I was always dry :( so it was not as much fun, as it is not the place to try to hook up or even smoke. Toooooo many police. It is better to go planning to hang out with friends, check out the vendor stuff, and support the movement. If a bunch of us meet up beforehand, we can have our own celebration!
Yeah that's what I was thinking too... it would be nice to go down to the shore for an early morning walk-n-puff, then munch a lunch, and hit the festival after. I'd never show up to a festival even CARRYING. Too much risk.
Here are pics of some of my outdoor flowers! Catmint that the neighbors cats love to munch on- it borders the front walkway, and the cats roll around afterward all blissed-out! The climbing yellow rose has gotten out of control; we need to get the ladder out and trim the wild thing. I love the blue gray foliage and bright pink flowers on this dianthus. The siberian iris are at the front fence, and there are six bunches of them just starting to open up. The clematis in the pot is climbing a lemon lace vine. Everyday something new blooms. The bearded iris should be open in a day or so, and I will post their pics. I love Spring!
Yesterday these plants were fine. Today I see they are reduced to sticks!
I look closer and they are infested with green caterpillars! Damn them-
Observe the bastards who ate my arugula - They are now green juice in a paper towel!
They must have come in from outside. I need to patrol the veg garden. Danger lurks.
That double clematis is STILL going strong!!! Wow that thing kills me ded.
Screw arugula, tastes good, IMPOSSIBLE to keep healthy in my experience. It bolts or gets eated. But is SO yummy... waaaaahhh!
beautiful flowering plants Demeter. We have some flowers coming and the herb garden and boxes are going well. I'll get some pics when the rest of the flowers bloom.
Hempfest in Boston? That sounds good. Any link to the organizers or such?
Shov
Shov- I look forward to seeing your pics- I need to check out your grow log!
I haven't checked out any links to Hempfest yet, but I will this weekend.
Here are a few new pics- the surviving sick girl- if you think she looks bad, a week ago she was almost dead! The stretched-out girl is Stinky's Matanuska Thunderfuck and she will be giving up a few clones soon.
In the flowering room pic there is one with fan leaves turning lime green and yellow- what should I do for this girl?
The little baby clone is a SAGEx fresh from the biodome. She looks sweet!
You have a very beautiful garden, Demeter, I only wish I could smell them =[
I need to grow some plants..
=[
Thanks RJ- if everyone grew something wonderful, the world would be much happier!
Here are some new shots of the flowers outside- iris, giant allium, rose, lupines, etc
More pretties!
Here is a matanuska thunderfuck that stinky gave me before she gets snipped for clones. Also some pics from the flower room- buds ripening - (sorry about the poor picture quality)
will post more later- stinkyattic and I will be doing some cloning today:jointsmile:
damm UR garden looks great.
That's what this trainwreckx smells like, ewww! But the first plant harvested smokes nicely, with just a hint of the stinK
Here's a smelly girl I just cut down- she's a two-headed beast isn't she!
yowee! Nice un!
Hey, I was in Boston last week...Moved my daughter to Chelsea.
Anyway, I cut some beauty broccholi flowers for supper last night as well as an armful of lovely kale for Portugese Soup tomorrow. The lillies have been blooming one color at a time so far. Yellows and tigers today.
Many other flowers haven't bloomed yet so no pics today. When the Bee Balm and Large Hollyhocks bloom I'll photo 'em.
Sho
Oh Shov you are making me look at my lunch with disgust. I would much rather be having a nice BIG bowl of kale soup, with sausage in it of course...
Demeter I can't even describe how funny it felt to be smoking somthing that smelled like rotten meat and tasted like garlic salami and felt like someone had filled me with giggles... that trainwreck X is THE single most bizarre weed I have ever come into contact with. lol very good stuff, considering how distasteful it smelled 'on the plant'.
Your pesto shrimp are to die for btw~ and I even had pesto on toast for breakfast this morning!
Thanks Dearies- boy I think we should all get together for a potluck supper- :stoned:Quote:

Hey, how are the clones holding up?
That would be great- who's up for potluck at stinky's?Quote:

I will have to get all the plants and fertilizer off the kitchen counter and make my kitchen functional again, lol.. you can't cook in it atm because of all the green leafy things!
I'm glad the babies are okay. I REALLY hope you try to re-veg that salami weed. Teh more I think about it, the more I kinda want a cutting!!! haha
Just wanted to compliment some beautiful work!
Any updates?
Stinky are you in New England?...Thought you asked ME about the tristates?
Thanks sweetie- here's some new pics of loads of dif plants-Quote:

And now for the medicinal plants:D
Here are the last three girls in flower- one has the top chopped off - which is what is in the drying box! The other two include a sick girl nursed back to health- I am thinking she's a blueberry, because of her color. The third girl is pretty wacked out- light stressed and crazyleafed; I think she'll be brownie material. Then there are the 25+ little clones- cute, huh?
This last little plant is in bondage- I think she is a clone of trainwreck- the famously stinky (decaying salami is the top note!) stuff that helps me get to sleep every night.
I'll be vegging for the next 2 1/2 months, then plan to flower two Blue Haze, two Matanuska Thunderfuck (thanks stinky!) two Pure Power Plant (the LOVELIEST for nugs) and then two wild cards from my growing friend.
I love variety!
hey demeter. how long does it take for RED peppers to be reaty to harvest.
I have some that R 4 inchs long and not turning red yet.
and Ur buds look like some yummy yummy goodness.
Nicely done!
So, yeah,...Ill be sending you my mailing address, and umm,..you can just overnight me some of that zucchini bread! LOL(maybe throw a little somethin' special in there;))
Keep up the good work!
PS: How do you feel about the FIM method?
Looks nice!

Hydro, it really depends on so many factors- how much sun and what variety they are. I love the kung pao because the plants are covered in hot peppers that are the first to ripen. Be patient! You will be rewarded with sweet hot yumminess!Quote:

thanks, and hey miss stinky, Mr. D is making some hot pepper sauce tomorrow, and there will be a jar with your name on it- I know you can handle a little heat!
Tuesday I made a loaf of carrot/herb bread and a loaf of orange-cranberry/herb bread. Yesterday, a 1" slice set me up with a nice trippy high for the day. Saturday a friend and I plan to start the day with coffee, bread and drive around the countryside for the day
Unfortunetly, my pepper crop is looking sub-par this season. I usually do a decent batch of pepper sauce I may have to buy some red habineros to go with the super chilis and sweet peppers to make a smaller batch. Fortunetly, I have some left from last season.
