OK, daddy Slip, I'm going to go lie on the couch for a while and watch the news and eat strawberry popsicles. As soon as I do that, the animals will follow me in there, and then I can go get in the animal-free real bed. Talk to you tomorrow. Tell Snookums hello and that I love her!
k, just go rest!
WAIT! i'm the daddy of my mother???? htf does that work?!
Yeah, it's a strange dynamic, to be sure. A little too distortedly Oedipal for me, but I think everyone's "fathering" me right now, including you and my son I gave birth to, my husband, P4B, and my real dad. It's y'all's way of showing your love, and I appreciate it. OK, I'm going to sign off now before anyone else tells me to rest or eat something. If I preted to be asleep, no one can try to persuade me to eat anything else.
Nighty....nite
I could smell Dave was scared,,,he had me worried when he said you did not have a good day yesterday... I am so glad your home BG!!!
Listen to Slip and take it easy...
And EAT something...

Welcome back Birdie. Sorry i've only just replied. I've been worried sick!
I hope your resting!!!!
Im at work so i've gotta dash off but i'll write a proper reply later, take it easy sweetheart, and enjoy being waited on lol!
All my love, LIP [Alex]
Thanks, Lip, my sweet and wonderful friend. I missed you. Sorry you were worried. I think I'm on the mend now. Just one night at home and I already feel worlds better. Amazing how nice it is to sleep through the night without IV alarms going off, EKG leads coming unstuck, or nurses coming in to take my blood pressure or listen to my pulse/heartbeat. Don't get me wrong. Hospitals serve an important purpose, and nurses are the most important people working inside. But the routine in a hospital isn't exactly restful for patients. It's much better to be home and sleeping in my own bed with my husband nearby and my doggies and kitties up against me.
Birdgirl You helped me so much in the past. I'm praying for you every night, I love you Birdgirl :D!!!
Best wishes Birdgirl! Godspeed.
so whatcha doing today BG???
Thanks for all the sweet, wonderful messages, guys. I love you, too. Orangeman, you are my sweet baby, and I just adore you. You know that, right? Thanks for the prayers.
Today I surfed online for a while earlier. Then I rested. Then my dad took me to a doctor's appointment. Then I studied for a while. I've stayed pretty caught up with school, fortunately, and can go back on Thursday. Then I sat out back with my dad in the sunshine and watched the dogs play in the yard (it was 70 degrees here today). Then I rested some more. And at every step along the way, I was eating. Breakfast. Supplement milkshake. Lunch. Snack. Ice cream. Reese's peanut butter cups. And now I'm back online and am waiting for Dave to get home from work so he can ask me what I've eaten so far today and listen to my breathing and see if he agrees that it's clearer. At this rate, I should weigh 300 pounds by, oh, Valentine's Day.
Look...
Enjoy it while it lasts! Stuff yourself, then renew your commitments to get back in shape! When you look at now, it sucks to lose all you worked hard for, but you'll get it back in optimal shape, trust me :)Quote:

OK, Skink, now you're just trying to freak me out by fattening up my avatar!! My worst fears imagined. Birdgirl turns into a wide-load fowl.
You'll be glad to know, THCBongman, that my doctor said if I weren't in such good cardio and fitness shape before I picked up this bug that things would have been much worse and that I would have a much more difficult time shaking off pneumonia, which I'm apparently at high risk for right now. My five-times-a-week workouts have set me in good stead, even if I'm having to stay away from the gym for a time and just let my metabolic rate slow down a bit. I'll be back to my taut self in good time. He told me today I can start to do walking (not race-walking or running and not any cardio machines) in the neighborhood and lift very light weights to try and maintain my strength and regain the ground I've lost in the last two or three weeks.
Great to see you back, Birdgirl. *HUGS* boy you had me scared. Stay strong, we need you around here ;).
