The only thing with yarn is I find it hard to untie to adjust. I have this rubber string in mind with a little stretch to it so that it's easy to untie, won't cut, and gives a little. but that has to wait for my last payday. As for my light problem I think I'll spray them tonight then wrap in saran wrap(very lightly) and let them sleep in the flower room in there own corner then move them back under the MH bulb tommorrow. Most of the affected leaves were the damaged one from before or bottom sucker branches so the really sad weak ones were pinched and the bottom of the plants will be sprayed since it's only the bottom 4", I'm lucky I caught it this soon.

kp it seem like this could be an evenly matched battle between the two of us, I look forward to the challenge.:p

do you move your plants positions daily??

doing this alone helps keep them all the same height and LST'ing the rest will give you a nice even canopy.

 looks good

I turn them daily and rotate them according to height. The shortest go right under the light where it is most intense, and the taller ones go to the sides to give the short ones a chance to catch up, as the height proportions change I flip the plants around. Jaz and Mrs. BL are lsted everday just a little more. the others are level so I'm just maintaining height with them at this point.

i put screws in the side of the pot, tie the branch, and just wind the yarn around the screw; to adjust, simply unwind and rewind.

First dedicated dryer grow 6 Norhterns and 3 Afghanis
I'VE HAD IT! OMG I should have learnt the first time but of course I figure I can make it work. So I took off Bella's top the same way I took off Casey's and Jaz's tops! So I've cut all iffy lines and now useless lines. I kept the tops of Jaz and Mrs. BL tied gentally but will not me tightning them. I figure I'll just tie what I absolutly have to and raise the lower plants to the light. On another note my second batch of clones is starting to root. The only thing is that the only clones that are taking are the northerns, the one Afghan that started taking stopped at little root nubs and is very slow going. So now my goal is to get a few afghanis rooted and I refuse to lose those tops! especially because 2 are Afghanis. Anyways I sprayed for mites last night threw them in white garbage bags and put them back in the flower room to sleep, so I can keep the same light cycle. Then this morning went to move them back and it occured to me that the needed to breath and I could have killed them but the bag was plenty big and they were fine.

 QUESTION OF THE DAY

When do you let the clones go if they haven't rooted yet? To some strains take longerto root than others? And if the clone takes well will clones taken from it root well too? And what's the shortest top of a plant that can root, since thestem is so think(keep in mind Casey, Jaz And Bella)?

eta I'll move to yarn when I get some soon

First dedicated dryer grow 6 Norhterns and 3 Afghanis
Hey guys, thanks for pooping in. I know you're there even if you don't want to speak up.

Good news today, The 2 Afghanis from my first batch of clones have roots! So all of my first clones rooted! And Caseys top is showing a little nub!

So that means with my cloning method Northerns take 1 week to get roots and Afghanis take 2 weeks. So that should give my Northerns a little head start before the Afghanis take off in height.. Now I gotta wait one more week for the rest of my clones to take. In thats time Mrs. BL and Jaz should be out of the stage 2 dryer and I can switch them all over to the MH bulb. Then I want to pick the best clone of each plant and make mothers till I harvest this round. Then one or two mothers of each strain.

I figure next time I only want 5 plants in the flower room but we'll see since I'm estimating how much space these plants will take up. But then that means that I have to chop some clones but that gives me a chance to pick the best clones.

I hope you're all having a lovely day, It's cold here but the sun is shining right on my spot So I'm soaking up the rays and good karma to share with all of you.

Hey chrissy, there's some sun here too and it's so nice. Yesterday was gorgeous out! Anyway yes we're reading even if we don't always speak up. Your girls look beautiful and happy! Too bad about the tops getting broken, but it seems to happen to many of us newbies. I know I did it.

Hey Canuck! Haven't seen you here is a while. I'm actually kinda happy the tops broke, now that the guilt has worn off. In two cases(Jaz and Bella) it helped with the height difference, amd with all of them the tops broke while the mainste was horizontal to encourage the branches to catch up so now It seems like I will have 4-5 main colas. Plus if the tops all root they will make wicked bonsai moms. So maybe this was just fates way of setting me up for the next few crops.

Thanks postman that hit the spot. Stop in and visit any time. I'm planning on fooling around with so bonsia moms so that with flowering and it should get interesting soon(not that it hasn't been already). Kiana likes your big kitty there as you avator cause it moves, she tries to catch it. But someone needs some cereal before bed.

Night everybody if I'm not back soon.

First dedicated dryer grow 6 Norhterns and 3 Afghanis
Well I've been moving Jaz and Mrs. BL back and forth at night, covering them with white garbage bags so that they keep the same light cycle and keep them in a lightproof area at night so I don't screw them up. Their doing ok. I checked today and removed a few old infested leaves under at the bottom where it's very hard to spray without soaking the plant. When I could I would just take a blade or two. I think they aren't as happy as they could be being covered every night, but I do not want to infect the other plants. So tonight is the second treatment, I think after that I won't cover them but I will move the other plants away so they are in no way touching, then tomorrow they will go back into the stage two dryer till their third and final treatment. At that time I think I will spray the whole flower room and mist all the plants just a a precaution, because I would rather deal with the mites now since they are early in flower.

Once they are out of there the stage two is being scrubbed and cleaned with bleach water, than sprayed with Doktor Doom. By then hopefully all my clones will have roots(there's only 5 left) then I can change back to the stage 1 dryer(the drum wiith fan) and slowly remove the humidity dome and hopefully start vegging.

Then I get to play with bonsia moms, and figure out how many plants I want for the flower chamber. I'm finding that with only 5 in the flower chamber the whole floor is shaded. I plan on picking up 4 2'flouros next weekend to mount vertically in the corners for side lighting about 1.5' off the ground for side lighting. Then I'll see how all the plants fit in there and decide how many to bloom at once.

As for bloom progress they are growing a little quicker, but there is no sign of bud yet, as to be expected. Since I put the yeast CO2 in the room I have noticed that the new leaves have a nice shine, and the older leaves are gaining a little luster. I moved the vinegar drip to the stage 2 with Jaz and Mrs. BL but Pepper Cat has some strange fasination with it and knocks it over all the time. Fucking cat knocked over my jug of clone water today all over my table soaked my papers and record and everything then! then knocked a pot of dirt into the puddle!

I know I should keep the animals away for various reasons but that's where the litter box is and with the dogs snacking on kitty litter(eeewwww!) there is nowhere else to put it.

Now That I'm done rambling I have one last thing to say. There is some confusion right now regaurding whether or not I have the strains of my plants are mixed up, I know one is Afghani and the Other Northern but some people have made comments saying I have them backwards so please if you know whch way is right please stop by my poll http://boards.cannabis.com/indoor-gr...rn-lights.html

Thanks for the visit I alway appreciate your time and interest and I hope I haven't bored you yet. I'm always here so feel free to speak up or ask questions even if it's not about my thread I love to help and teach what I know.

Thanks for popping in. Lol back when we didn't have tv and I wasn't working I would get stoned while my roommate(now husband) was at work. I was originally trying to see if I could fix the damn thing because we were broke and had no washer. So I would wash our clothes in the bath tub then throw them in the dryer, without the dryer a load of laundry took like 3 days. Anyways, I started taking it apart and forgot I had to put it back togather, lol. It sat wasting space for 3 years and I wouldn't let him throw it out because I was convinced I could make it work. And sure enough I did make it work after many sad attepts. After being broke for all my life even having money now I hate to throw anything out, we fight about keeping junk all the time. Guess who usually wins.;)

So we went out today and picked up 4 new 18w 28" flouros for the corners of my flower room for the side growth. It's not much in the watt department but every little bit helps and the more light the better.
I feed today for the first time with my 3 part nute system, carbo load, big bud, and cal/mg. I'm curiouse to see how much they'll take off now. As it is my little buds are growing(yeah), and with 7 plants it's quite crowed in there, next time I think I'll only put 5 in there. But I gtg. Peace.

Hey thanks for stopping by. What I call my Afghans(everyone says I have my Afghans and Northerns labeled backwards, but buddy is 1000%sure I have it right and he's the one who ot them for me) they smell like fresh moist plants, like when I worked in a greenhouse with my mom. The northerns smell faintly like pine. My Daughter is 6 months old and a little peanut. We have some weight issues right now, but they aren't serious. Congradulations on your little one, they really do change your life and way of thinking.

Oh and paul I've been thinking about yarn but with all the lines cut the plants are pretty close with eachother. Oh and I tried the magnifying glass with what my camera says is high sensitivity setting and still a blur, so I'll have to wait till the buds get bigger.

		Updates
OK so I have 5 clones left to root that have a few days to a week be right on schedual. I figured that I would throw all the clones under the MH bulb. So I pulled the stage 2 dryer out of the corner, left the light hanging where it was, and moved the stage 1 dryer drum riht underneath. Everything was scrubbed down with bleach water, swept, and washed during the transition. I have the MH bulb about 24" above the dome, and the emp is at 81.5. I'm hoping this will boost the unrooted clones a little. If it does then as soon as they are in soil I'll start cracking the dome an inch a day. If they still take a little longer I have a cake dome and tray(thanks to MIL dropping of groceries, it was good cake) that's the perfect size to put both domes in the drum.

HOW I BUILT MY FLOWER ROOM

I forget who it was but I promised to post how I built my flower room with the(I love this) Panda Plasitc. So here we go...

 1. The size. I chose the size of my grow room due to the space I had. I sacrificed ground space for a few inches of height due to plumbing above. If you look at my pictures You'll see the my room gets wider closer to the ground. I made the room as big as I could at the top then pulled the front out to slope it.

2 the frame. The frame started as a basic 2x4 rectangle. For the first side wall, for the width I used the measurement of the top of the room at the ceiling, and the hieght I went right up to the rafters. I stood up the frame and determined how far I wanted to pull out the front of the room to increase floor space. I used another 2x4 and cut and nailed it to the first at the angle I wanted.
I was fortunate enough to be able to use eisting back and right wall. If you don't have this then build another frame like the first for the second side. Then if I were you I would nail or screw another two 2x4's for the back. One across the bottom and one across the top of the back. Then for the front do the same thing, one across the topconnecting the two side frames and one across the bottom.
I was fortunate enough to be able to secure the frame to existing shelves rafters, and structures, you may have to find ways to stabilize your frame so it isn't so wobbly if it is free standing.
You should end up with a box with a slope. The slope in the front helps later when it comes to light proofing the door.

 3. Ventilation. I used a $20 bathroom exhaust fan. To mount it i determined how high in the room I wanted it. Then in the existing first rectangular frame I added a 2x4 in the middle to hang the fan from.

 4. Mounting the light. Right in the middle of the room on the ceiling I have a rafter. This is where I inserted a screw before I mounted the plastic so I knew where to place the hook.

 5. At this point I started with the plastic. I cut sheets to fit the back, and side walls, as well as the ceiling and floor. I duct taped the floor down with the edge under the frame to help hold it down. I then used a staple gun to secure the top part of the room, pushing the srew where the light mounts through. Then I stapled up the sides, all from the inside.
The front is a little trickier because I needed a lightproof door. So I made three panels that overlapped by 2-3". One the front there are 3 panels now, 2 on either side, and one that falls over top as the door. I secured the two front side panels tight from the outside of the frame this time.
If you look at my pics there is a strip of duct tape on the edges(vertically) on these two side front peices. Before you staple this part put the ducttape on as strait as you can and fold it over the other side the pull and staple as tight as you can at the top and bottom.
Over top of that so that the door overlaps equally, staple that middle panel to the frme only at the top.

To open and close the door. I used a peice of rope and fed it through in between the two peices of plastic at the very top in the middle of the door. Then make a loop big enough so that you can roll up the door and slip the rope around under it. When the door is not rolled up you will only see one half of the rope going to one side close to the top.
So the rope from the outside, is fed through, inbetween the plastic for the door and ceiling, then it comes down, under the rolled up door, and back up to the original entry point. Make sure the loop is long enough to losely be put to the side when the door is down.

 6. odds and ends. That screw that we put in the top to mark where to mount the light. Take one of those hooks with a screw on the end and screw it in.
Then cut your hole in the plastic where the fan is with a razor. If you cut it just a little smaller it will stay snug around the fan, but don't put it around the fan yet. I used this hole to put the light through into the room.
To hang the light I used a pulley system so it could be adjustable. For this rope works smoother and better. The rope will hang over the hook in the top, then it goes strait to the hole you fed the door holder ropey thingy through. put it through that same hole. Outside the room you need a thick staple, or and eye of some sort to feed the rope through, then it goesto what ever you tie it to to keep the light from falling. I used the sink drainage pipe because it was right there. You should be able to attch the light on the floor and pull on the rope to raise it up then tie the rop when it is where you want it.

 7. Duct tape crazy. I stared from the ceiling and ductaped the seams. Then moved down the corners of the room, then around the fan, then I duct taped the seams alond the floor. When I did the floor I I did all the way around except for 10" on one side so it was open at the very bottom. This allows me to sweep dirt out and to squegee water out. Now take a flashlight, close the door behind you and crawl in, with your roll of duct tape. Now tape up and light leaks you can see, if that' hole to sweep dirt out isn't that important or leaks to much tape it up. It should be close to pitch black in there by the time you are done.

 8. Air intake. Now here is where I was stumped till my Husband reminded me that light doesn't bend. So I took 4" fleible shiny dryer ducting. I cut 3-3.5" diameter holes in the sides and front(only the side panels not the door), then screwed the ducting(about 10-12" long) into the hole. Then I bent them downwards and secured them to the plastic with duct tape. Now you get to turn on the exhaust fan. If the door sucks in you need more intake holes, if it doesn't your fine.

 9. turn on the light. Do a dry run for a day or two to figure out temp and airflow issues. I found I needed to add a small tower fan to circulate the air and recently added flouros in the corners.

 10. Take your time. Measure, check, measure, check, over and over. Then think of every step right to the end(or at least up to the big wall that always blocks you up at some point). then measure and cherck again, then finally cut. You will probably have to change a few things or alter them, but what ever works for you.

I hope this helped someone out, if there are any questions or clearifications needed, please ask. I apologize but the camera is leaving me today again for a little bit.

Thank you so much for pooping in and happy growing.

First dedicated dryer grow 6 Norhterns and 3 Afghanis
Buds are growing, slowly. but it has only been 2 weeks. I moved the clones under the 400w mh bulb and switched the clones yet to root under the cake dome, and the rooted clones have to dome cracked. Well the unrooted clones aren't to happy, but they are still holding on. I shaded them to cut back the intensity. The light is as high as it can go. As a result the whole basement is lit up which I forgot about regaurding the flower room. The flower room is pretty much light proof but the low light in the basement was an added security with only the flouro going. But the light from that MH bulb is bouncy, especially with white floors. The light was shooting up the 90 degree intake tubes. So I noticed this last night and was fortunate enough to have two blankets right there and old pipes from a shower in the basement we had removed, so I threw them over top, careful to rerun wires and move the ballast. Then this morning I go down and find the blankets o the floor. Not to judge or jump to conclusions(fucking Cats) but I have an idea. So I rehung the blankets a little more securely, and ent to inspect my big babies. Casey and FOxy have very minor mites that are kept under pretty good control by plucking underleaves that are yellowing anyways. I moved a pot and behind it was a puddle of water(?), I noticed it the day after watering but it dried up by the next day so I wasn't concerned, but it's back. So I checked for leaks and found none, went to clean it up and it's CAT PISS! So kinks are being worked out and I think I'll be headed to the nearest asian resteraunt with some skinned cats to donate. No I love my kitties just need to figure out a few things.

Anyways thanks for visiting and feel free to speak up anytime. Since I started the Womans war thread it seems everyone is gathering there, but hey all's well.

Busy bust busy on week ends while DH is at work. Somehow with two parents to watch K during the week I still never find time to go downstairs cause it's like I have 2 kids, lol. I love my husband, and my cats. I'm more concerned about them spreading the mites from plant to plant.

First dedicated dryer grow 6 Norhterns and 3 Afghanis
I go down stairs everyday to say good morning to my ladies and rotate them around the room, and everyday the itty bitty buds are a little bit bigger. Then I go check on them to see if they've gotten any bigger. But I never notice a difference. So I check more often. No difference. By the evening I'm content just to sit and watch my plants and try to catch them growing behind my back. But I never do. Then I get up the next morning and they've grown again. I love it. It's so much more fun to grow your own. The anticipation and impatience alone is worth it.

Anyways now that I've ahad my moment of the day. I haven't seen any mites in the last few days, but my eyes are open. I figure I'll try to do that for a few more days, if the under leaves are really bad I'll remove them, a few scattered I'll spray the underside of the leaves with water(not much cause I don't want mold problems), then I'll spray Doktor Doom, one last time to kill the suckers left.

My plants are 53 days old, and 17 days into bud. They are taking more water more often, We went from 3L every 6 days to 4L every 5. Yesterday I watered full feed with Big Bud(since you only use it 3 weeks and it cost so much and I have so much extra) The carbo load, Cal/Mg, and the three part nute system. I'm just using their lite feed though. No need to burn them twice during my first grow. I'll tweek it more once I get a ppm meter.

I wish I could show you girls pics but my camera is gone. Maybe I'll try a few with my cell phone.

Ok I just checked on my plants and I HAVE A PROBLEM.
One one of the 4 taller plants, 2 fan leaves are affected. It starts at the tips and is inbetween the veins. It turns splotchy dark puplish green then contorts as it curls up and dries dark green, not much different than the original green.

This has been written in chunks throughout the morning. Any ideas on what this is please help.
