Ok here is one more of Lucy followed by some clone photos. First up is the recently trained Oprah up front and the NSTd girl Veronica in the back. Next are the other 3 clones. From left to right they're: Jane (topped & LSTd), Wilma, Wendy. Then there is a close up of Jane and one of Veronica. They are small to be messing with but it's fun. :jointsmile:
Lucy is getting really ripe! She smells just like a real mango and it's getting sweeter. :D Mercedes is starting to smell more mango-like too and she's fattening up. They both look amazing. As usual Mercedes' pot is much lighter already. I think she drinks more than Lucy and has better drainage as well.
Next time I want to use more perlite. We just used a mix from the grow shop they said was good to go. It is but I think I can do better. :)
Some pics of both girls and then a couple of Mercedes' main stalk. It's fuckin' crazy looking at the nodes! And rock hard like when a stem snaps and heals over.

She has a really nice clump of buds near the bottom of her main stalk. She is taking her time compared to Lucy but I think she's just plotting right now. :)
She smells like a fucking mango what else is there to say. Fog I know exactly why you want to eat the buds now. They really smell so delicious I wanted to eat one today... I didn't because I know it wouldn't taste like mango. :jointsmile:

NST kinda works but it's definitely not as effective as LST. I wouldn't take it seriously at all but it's fun to try shit.
Next is Oprah, a little kinked but growing fast. She got some fish ferts yesterday and seemed to like that shit. It's smells awful though. Anyway then it"s veronica the NSTd plant. She's almost straight right now because I turned her 180 deg. I'm trying to get light to the other side but I think you have to let the main stalk grow stiffer on a 90 deg angle first. Shit sorry for rambling.
Then there's Jane growing fast as well. And then Wilma on the left and Wendy right.

Ok so the big girls are just over 6 weeks now. I think they'll be around 55-65 days but we'll just have to wait since they're bagseed. They didn't seem to flinch when we cloned them but that could add some time maybe. Anyway Lucy's pistils are starting to go orange and she's getting a little frosty! She looks really nice. Mercedes is less frosty and could be a week or so behind Lucy. I haven't looked at the trichs in a few days but I will tomorrow. That 'scope is so good for checking pot that I buy as well. I've become such a critic now that I know a little more, wondering why they harvested it too early and things like that. It's fun though.
I got a 6" Vortex the other day and we put it right on the scrubber at the end of the duct out of the cab. The inline fan is now an intake at the bottom. I really need a new cab so I can set it up like jamstigator's cab... there are pics a page or two back that doco was kind enough to post for me. But hey it's cool in there now! Dry as shit at 10% RH but I don't know what to do about that. The air is moving through that thing so fast... 449 cfm for under 20 cu.ft. daaaamn! I got a $20 humidifier in the room but that barely does anything except within 5 ft of the thing.
I put a shelf in the bottom of the cab so the plants are right near the tube now and it's cool enough. Right under the hottest part of the tube it's just over 30C and it's much cooler in the rest of the cab, perfect!

Oh yeah I'm glad I got a pic of this. This is a great illustration of why you shouldn't trim leaves at random. I wanted to get a good pic of this but I forgot. Since the light's off I just GIMPed this pic so people can see what I'm talking about. We probably cut this off to give light to a bud site. Oh the irony! :jointsmile: :rastasmoke:

Ok I don't know when these cease to be clones and are just vegging plants. I hear when they're alternating and have 7+ nodes they're no longer clones but I guess there are no real definitions. I'm going to call them the clones for a while longer. :)
So yeah, they are doing great! I'm trying to get Wendy and Wilma(3rd pic) to stretch a little so they're further from the light. Same with Jane the shrub(2nd pic). I think she may make a good bonsai mom one day. Oprah(4th pic) has really dense nodes and she was topped the other day by bcchronic. She didn't seem to flinch and kept growing. Veronica, well she's doing alright (last pic). Nothing spectacular from her yet but I think I may have FIMed her, actually missed and FIMed her that is. I tried to top her. By the time the big girls are ready I should have a couple of these clones ready to go into that cab... or a new one if I can get something to fit the cool tube properly. That would be nice and I have my eye on a cab that dropped $50 in price recently. ;)

Oh yeah, I'm feeding the big girls 500ml every 3 days or so when they need it. 30ml/gal Pure Blend Pro, 10ml/gal each Liquid Karma and Thrive Alive, 1tbsp/gal molasses, pHed to the low sixes. After one more week they'll get just water and maybe molasses every other feeding or something. We're guessing they'll be ready in 9 weeks or so, so 49 days should be good to stop feeding. I think Mercedes might go longer but we'll have to see. She's eating more and I'm actually giving her a little more than 30ml/gal PBP because she seems to want it.
The clones are getting some crappy home depot nutes with LK, thrive alive, and some molasses-derived stuff from BioBizz that was a free sample at the grow shop, NPK is 1.8-0.X-6.6 or something. bcchronic just gave his girl Oprah the biobizz stuff and water last time he fed her. I bought some AN "Barricade" which is a potassium silicate. Zandor said that it strengthens cell walls of stems and that it's useful if you're tying your bitches up so I'm going to give it a try. I haven't started giving it to them yet because they seem small but I will soon because I am training them already.

I found out something about our strain today. I met up with my buddy who's bag of weed we got the beans from and he said the grower created this strain himself. It's not stable yet so that could account for the different aromas between the 2 ladies. Anyway he said that he'd try and get the guy to meet up with us sometime so we could talk about it and find out what the parents are and everything. That'll be fun, I can't wait!

lucy's looking mighty fine there, I can tell how much you care for her. As crazy as this seems I'm just starting flowering and it makes me kinda sad because that means that I'll have to chop them down and kill them and it seemsso cruel after spending hour a day getting to know each individual and care for her needs. But in the end you know the ladies will do you right if you did right by them and it looks like you have.
Hey Chrissy thanks for stopping by! :) I kinda know what you mean about harvesting. It's sort of like raising a calf until it's a big, juicy cow and then eating it. Honestly I can't bring myself to feel bad about it though. :jointsmile:
Tokudai let us know that today's the day to flower girls in time for 4/20 (roughly) [thread: http://boards.cannabis.com/grow-loun...7-harvest.html ]. I put the 2 smaller girls, Wendy and Wilma, in the flower cab and then topped them both. I also cut away some smaller and slightly deformed nodes at the bottom. They are 32 days old and have been rooted for ~ 2 weeks.
I also tied down 3 branches on Jane today. They're still really small but she's just getting crazy. I have before and after pics.
Pics! First is the flower cab, then Wilma and Wendy (respectively). 4th is the flower cab closed.

Tomorrow is day 48 and marks the end of week 7. Pistils are turning orange faster on Lucy now. I guess they have 1-2 weeks left. I'll post some pics tomorrow! :jointsmile:
Sorry I didn't get around to the pics yesterday. The work at my job has actually started now so I am busy, which is good! Anyway I got some pics today.
Hard to believe that these little girls are 5 weeks old. They didn't root for 2, but they're still on the small side. They had pretty poor light for a while maybe that was it.
Jane's older fan leaves are turning yellow and curling up. From reading and looking at pics I think that she may have a K deficiency. Can anyone experienced back me up or tell me I'm wrong on that? I'll feed her some straight water again next time and then maybe some of this molasses derivative which is 1.8-0.2-6.4 or close to that, high in K in any case. :)
(I made my diagnosis from this page: Marijuana Plants Problems - Yellow Leaves, brown spots, nutrient shortage etc. ... It could be N I guess but I think the deformed new growth is a factor as well, I don't know if you can see that in the pics or not.)

Mercedes has some brown patches on her leaves. It sounds like she might have too much Mg, or a lockout. Her fan leaves are yellowing more than Lucy so maybe her pH is too low and N is locked out. Next watering I'll pH a little higher than right around 6.0. We aren't going to feed them anymore so I have been giving them molasses (1 tbs/gal) but I might cut the molasses for a watering or two in case it's too much. Also some people say 1 tsp/gal so maybe 1 tbs is too much, but I believe stinky said she does 1 tbs/gal so who knows it could depend on the plant. Shit do I ever ramble sometimes! :jointsmile:
I have stopped measuring their height and started watching trichomes. Lucy's are mostly clear but some are going cloudy. I think she has a week left, maybe 2. Mercedes probably has 2-3 weeks left. We might harvest them at different stages to get different effects. Probably Lucy early since she's more ripe and Mercedes later, when she has 10-20% amber trichs. I think for Lucy we'll wait until they're mostly cloudy and a few turn amber or around there. I like head highs more because I like to smoke and go about my day. What can I say I am a pothead! :S5:
Anyway they are getting FAT especially Mercedes, that whore of a slut. She still has a distinct odour from Lucy though. Not as much mango and something else I can't put my finger on yet. Plus she is maturing more slowly, Lucy's pistils were more orange by the time she had trichs like Mercedes.

They are stretching out, Wilma is going faster. I think because I trimmed more of her lower branches off and she has a bit of a nicer place to bask in the light! Lucky bitch. She is fully bent towards the light it's so cool. They probably need to get into bigger pots soon and I don't know what to do about that. It'll work out though it always does!

That Vortex fan is loud, even dialed down as far as my control goes, so I have just been keeping the little inline fan going at night. Humidity gets a little over 40% so that's no good and the smell even escapes a little at night. But I think they're ok so I'm not going to worry till I can build a new cab that the Vortex can be muffled/insulated in.
The downside to my being able to sleep easily is that when the thing comes on at 7am it wakes me up and then I get 1-2 hours of shit sleep after that. I should get used to it because I have a feeling that this summer I'll be running the lights at night to keep temps under 40 C. My apt. gets way too hot in the summer.

Your crop is lovely green and white still. Mine (well these two in that bucket) seems to be finishing up yearly. Are they about the same age? These were all planted 91 days ago and went to 12-12 about 35 days ago. I know this plant showed sex before I started 12-12 though, exactly when, I didn't get. My other four bubblegum are green with all white hairs like yours.

Thanks shov! We planted 78 days ago, and today is day 51 of flower. The guy at the grow shop probably assumed we were using clones and said to flip them when they were about a foot tall. I think that's why our buds are smaller than yours even though they've been flowering longer. Just my guess anyway.
I cannot wait to cut them down. I might not buy any pot until the harvest, but then there's still time to dry & cure so I don't know about that.

dusto: Yes, back to that bubbler. :) I haven't been doing the CO2 lately because I think the air moves too quickly for it to be effective. But I was mixing ~ 2 cups of sugar with some warm/hot water in a 2L bottle, leaving room for another 0.25 - 0.5 L of water. I take a small spoon (probably 1-2 tsp) and add one spoon of yeast to about a cup of cold water and then put it in the fridge. After 5-10 mins mix the yeast-water into the sugar-water and then top up the bottle to your liking. I leave some room so that when I open the bottle in the morning I have time to close it when it tries to fizz everywhere, but if you're leaving it open you can fill it right up. I have tried less and more sugar and about 1 cup / litre seems to be the sweet spot. YMMV. :)

Yeah man we got a little anxious today and smoked a little popcorn nug. It was pretty immature but it got us a buzz for a little while. We were smoking some Haze too (not sure of the exact strain) so we were already baked. I can't wait till harvest either! :D

Okay I'm tired as shit but here are a few quick pics. The big girls are getting just water or molasses water. They're losing leaves and Mercedes is fattening up a LOT. She's yellowing faster, but Lucy is more mature. Most of her pistils are orange on her top half, but she still has lots of clear trichs.
I'm still using home depot 20-20-20 crap for veg, I need to get something better soon. I have a feeling something's in the works. ;)
