Nobody mentioned the favicon,,,they are very small,,,16x16 pixels,,, and should be made with as little detail as possible so people can make out what it is... I know it is probably a skull because of the new logo,,,but I can't make it out...
Ok I blew it up and it is a crop of the logo...
To be truthful when i saw the new logo it did bother me a bit. but in the greater scheme of things I think there are things that are more hurtful to the pro marijuana and legalization movement than a logo, so not gonna bitch about it, or delve deeper into my statement even.
Wow... off the boards for a few days and return to... a SKULL? Please! Here I am trying to portray cannabis as a valuable medicinal herb with great benefits to society, and you guys [Sundance] decide to go with the whole skull thing... isn't the skull a symbol of POISON?... and here I was sitting on the fence for a while anyway thinking how I was about ready to leave myself because of all the violent references in some of the threads, and the only thing really keeing me here are the responsible cultivators in the grow area, seriously WHAT THE FUCK. TOTALLY NOT THE IMAGE THAT WE AS A COMMUNITY REALLY NEED TO BE PUTTING UP FOR OURSELVES. AND NOT SOMETHING I WANT TO BE A PART OF. I know one of the mods mentioned that Image REaper and myself were both being considered to be moderators... and I don't even think I'd want to be one anymore if this is the way it's going to go here. Now, I'm going to go ahead and double-post this rant in the grow lounge because if I leave, that's where my crowd hangs out, and OH FUCK THIS.

If you can see it from this perspective, StinkyAttic, the reasons you listed above are precisely why you should stay. The way I see it, they're why those of us who don't exhibit the punk factor should be eager to stick it out here. Because we're the faction that offsets that other one. It's not like the skull is inappropriate; it's more like what is the significance of it? I don't really care either way - but I don't really like the skull either....but it's not THAT bad!

When I saw the new logo I thought it was juvenile but I'm new here and consider myself like a guest at someone else's house...not my place to criticize the decor. Stinky Attic, Bird Girl has it right. Without us older heads, the kids are going to get into far more trouble than they would with us (gently) nagging them. Even so, the skull is extremely poor taste and greatly offends me as a medical user. It is a magnet for the under-age crowd (who are supposedly all over 18, but are years shy of it). I guess its the energy that makes a difference....I honestly thought the thing was some sort of lilly or something--looked ugly enough as that. I don't know the owner of this site but yes, he gets to choose and yes, I get to think it's in poor taste. Cannabis.com is now a business and in it for the money. It is no longer a informational site or community but a future media site for the masses. Of course he has said he will have LINKS to other pages regarding activism, medical, and other cannabis related topics(to satisfy the older members), but it seems the focus will be on mainstream media.
Oh and quick question, Since this is now considered a business, are you Mods paid for your services, or are you working for free to help make others money? You know since this is a business and all, you should get paid and receive a yearly 1099.

I don't agree with it, but that's not my problem. If I ever introduce people to this website, I'm going to say, "yeah it's pretty cool, not so much the logo though" and that'll be the end of that. I have met quite a few folks who don't seem "in it for the money" Yes, we all have to live, eat, pay rent etc. but I see way too many people these days when faced with the choice of making more money vs doing what they believe is right consider the answer a no brainer--I suppose because "everyone else is doing it." I heard an excellent statement somewhere the other day...."nothing makes people quite so transparent as greed.". You are correct in saying that when it stops working for you, you'll stop coming. That's my feeling exactly. If you want good guests, you have to be a good host (but having good guests has to matter first)
On the other side...the owner stated in no uncertain terms what he wants to accomplish and what his plans are for this site. We need to appreciate his honesty and openness and use that information for our choices. He just cut through a lot of bullshit in my opinion and saved me tons of time trying to figure things out. I think that maybe Sundance's abrupt attitude towards Image Reaper (a caring long establised member) may have ruffled a few feathers.
The whole logo (and font) looks like it should be in a Marvel Comic Book or something.
