I'm not a drug user, I'm a cannabis user

Im an honor roll student with a 4.1 GPA
I participate heavily in school events and clubs
I'm an avid writer, photographer, artist, and guitar player
I have friends and family who love and respect me
I have a part time job (making enough money to sustain my pot use :stoned:)
I plan on going to a university and becoming a productive member of society
I'm an open minded and well balanced person who can make an informed decision.
I am not a drug user, I am a cannabis smoker.

cannabis plant aint a drug but to smoke it is, same way a Orange aint a drug but the vitimans are.

Umm, cannabis is a drug.

What everyone should be trying to prove is that its a GOOD drug. The same way millions of people drink coffee to get the effects of caffeine, we all smoke weed to get the effects of the thc in it. Millions of people do each, each day, all the time, and it poses little to no health risks.. even less with marijuana, as there is no dependance.

I am the mother of a 21yr old daughter and a 3yr old grandson.
I was am emt securtiy guard on a coal mine in ND for 6 yrs.
I became a greasecleaner as they call us for companys that worked on the draglines and shovels.
I worked myself into a fulltime position working for a contractor on a coal mine
supervising crews on the maintance outages on the mining equipment.
When I wasn't on the eqiupment, I cleaned in there welding shops, toolrooms,supply trailers ect.
I haven't work in the last year because of artheritis problems in legs, thats why I smoke cannibus because of the pain, and what they call restless leg syndrom.

if cannabis isn't a drug it shouldn't do anything to you if you smoke it. It may be a plant but it's also a drug.

lots of drugs wont get you high, but they'll still affect you. You'll get all the nicotine and other chemicals that wont make you trip, that doesn't mean it's not a drug.

Like Inferius said, THC is the drug portion of the plant. So when you smoke cannabis, you are taking in THC. THC is a chemical that reacts in our bodies in a way that fits the definition of drug.
Now believe it or not, pot can lead to a psychological dependence in some people. It causes changes in your behavior. I believe that cannabis fits that definition. Do I think that weed is a bad drug? No I do not. I believe there can be more good from cannabis than bad, if used responsibly. I do not think that marijuana is the cure-all-miracle-drug that some of you do. Like other drugs, weed does have it's negative effects. I agree that if you eat it or use a vaporizer that alot of those negativities are removed.

All that aside, you can consider yourself a "cannabis" user. The public will still deem you a drug user. Get used to it. It is part of the fight.

the only negative effect you get from weed is just short term memory loss, other than that really nothing, cause although smoking anything is bad for your health, all you have to do is eat or drink marujuana and you dont have the bad smoking effects

I'm not no brain expert(:thumbsup:), but from what I remember I believe it kills Glial cells, which make up the myelin sheath, which is found on the axon of a neuron. This protects brain cells from firing off and hitting eachother, which would short them out and kill brain cells. Glial cells do regenerate, though.

I think what THC does has something to do with the glial cells, but I don't even know if what I said above was right, so I'd like someone smarter to take over after here.

I am a successful member of my high school's Academic Decathlon team, last year we were 200 points short of going to Nationals in Texas.
I am a successful member of my high school's Knowledge Bowl team. Last year we made it to the state meet in Brainerd Minnesota.
I am also a successful member of my high school's Speech Team. I made it to state last year in the category of Discussion. It was my first year on the team.
I am a participating member of 4-H and I counsel camp every summer.
I work 22 hours a week during the school year, and am easily able to hold a job.
I am taking 3 AP classes a semester at my high school.
I am in band, and I am one of the two tuba players.
Combined, school and work take 57 hours out of my week.
I am a red belt in Tae Kwon Do.
I am in good favor with the principal and many teachers at my school.
I am not a drug user, I am a cannabis user.
