Well anyone who thinks it wont be fun anymore when/if it is legalized shouldnt claim to be a pot head. But I think we should first decriminalize it atleast. I dont think the nation is ready to all out legalize it, but we can atleast stop throwing people in jail for it and branding them criminals and maybe focus on doing that to child molesters rapist and other violent crime comiters. Marijana is Americas #1 cash crop ( I heard this on MSNBC, i know i should go to hell for actualy watching the news but if its on the news in any way be a negative one its one step closer to legalization) so we could cancle out quite a bit of our national depbt by taxing the stuff.
legalized
HELL YEAH!

People like NORML are heroes to me. I take legalization of marijuana very seriously. Thousands of people are put in prison every year just for pot. If you went to prison for two years just because you had a pipe in your car when you got pulled over for a tail light out, I am sure you would want it to be legal then.
Especially since you can't get a job when you get out as a "convicted felon."
There is nothing cute about the War on Drugs. It's a war on the citizenry of the republic.
If you think, when legalized, it wouldn't be fun to smoke or wouldn't be "cool" to talk about you obviously don't respect and enjoy cannabis you just want to look like a hardass.
cmon fuckin do it already...i dont understand why all these countries feel like being douches...alcohol is legal almost everwhere adn even sold to children in some countries yet a drug that is much safer and doesnt even cause the long term problems (liver) that alcohol does..."herb is the healing of a nation, alcohol is the destruction" - Robert Nesta Marley
Hahaha that would be funny as hell man:DQuote:

Is it because you think there would be a "fucked up" generation, like Nocturnal Stoner stated? I don't think there would be. I'm pretty sure that in the long-run the usage would stay the same... and yes, there have been studies to determine a possible trend of usage in the future if it were legalized. They all say that the usage might spike for a short period of time, but then decline back to normal, if not lower.
All of you who want it decriminalized: you would rather have cannabis still be in the hands of drug dealers, who could still adulterate it, or sell shitty schwag? Why would you want that? If it was legalized, it would be regulated, and thus there would be quality control.
Many of you might say that it's because it would be taxed. Don't jump to conclusions. Of course it will be taxed, but do you actually think that the price would be higher than it is now? People paying $600 per oz in some parts of the country? You fail to realize that the black market can inflate prices hundreds, if not thousands of times the value of a substance that would otherwise be cheap, even if taxed. Point is, even if it was legalized and taxed heavily, it would still be cheaper than it is now. Not only that, but there wouldn't be a huge regional price difference. Medical Cocaine (yes, it exists) costs $20 per kilo, and this is high quality cocaine. How much does a kilo of high quality cocaine cost on the black market? Do the math. You may argue that cannabis clubs in California charge a shitload of money for their medical bud, but you have to realize that it is not fully legal... it's semi-legal, and the people running it are still risking their freedom.
Decriminalization sucks. The prices would stay the same, which are ridiculous prices at that. There would be no quality control. Cannabis could still be adulterated by assholes. If caught, you'd get a fine and a misdemeanor charge. How is this so much better when compared to full legalization?
Full legalization: The prices would be much lower, even when taxed heavily. There would be quality control, and thus everyone could get very good weed, and there would not be adulterants in the herb. You wouldn't get "caught" for it, thus no fine, and no punishment of any kind. I really don't understand why people would rather have it be decriminalized.
How about legalization with a regulatory system like used with alcohol. How about the freedom to grow this healing herb without being afraid of Big Brother? How about legalization? Come on now, this "decriminalization" concept is bullshit. The real idea behind it is to get it decriminalized first, and then legalized. It's a stepping stone, not a permanent solution.
SMOKEnCHOKE: Oh yeah, that's a real valid reason for decriminalization or keeping it at the status quo. I think you're being sarcastic, but if you aren't, then I feel very sorry for you.

Well yes, that is very true. But we're not going to stop at that, are we?Quote:

Decriminalized or legalized either way would do a lot for the cannabis culture. I am amazed at all the 15 year old kids around here who only smoke in front of people to look like a hardass. If you only smoke in front of people you're not a true smoker. If legalized I think it would disassociate all the punks or wannabe gangsta's from cannabis. I don't think they would have interest in it because people would see that normal civilized people smoke it. Maybe it's not like this around your town but that is how it is here.
I think the best way to legalization is to start tearing down the false myths. People state that it is a gateway drug, but it was the last drug that I tried and is now the only one I use. People also, for some unknown reason, think that if you smoke even small amounts it melts your brain and makes you "a useless dumbass." People think they know so much about it and how bad it is before they have even tried it.
Legalize
I really don't know whether we should legalize it or not because in case u do legalize it, price will go up as our next generation consume more than they can handle and u certainly don't want your surgeon/doctor lighting up a joint right before your surgery.
De-criminalization would be a good start. Not legalization!
Rates of use wouldnt go up - look at the countries that have decrim'd - Holland for example - less hard drugs users and less soft drug users. Also, the price would be alot lower, even with stupid amounts of tax.Quote:

As far as it wouldn't be fun anymore that's f*ing stupid as Lip

What a great pipe dream. I would so thrilled if that were to come true. It would rival the day Richard Nixon resigned. It seems the truth is it has about as much of chance if Bush were to resign. There would be a hell of a party if that were to happen. Chins up you never know.
hmm lets see tobacco is legalized and it kills so many people per year same with alchy but whatever people are going to keep doing it no matter if its legal or not
Get out much?...This is crackhead logic, not pothead logic.:stupid:Quote:

As I look at my beautiful plants and think about how much time I would spend behind bars for this plant, I think: Fuck yeah it should be legal! There are millions of sick twisted ass folks in this world that should be locked up for heinous crimes against children, but our laws are lax in this area. Didi you hear me? you will spend more time in jail for growing 20 marijuana plants than you will if you rape a 5 yr old child.:wtf: Our(and I use that term loosely) lawmakers and legislatgors turn a blind eye to pedephelia because they enjoy it themselves! and after that abused child grows up they want to smoke some fucking pot to deal with the trauma in their mind, but NOOO thats not allowed in our society!!! I say fuck them all.

I figure that it should be legalized with the *SAME* laws, regulations, age restrictions, and of course taxes. Remember that the almighty dollar speaks volumes. Also keep in mind that with alcohol, your legaly allowed to make XX number of gallons of beer and/or wine, etc. The same would apply for marijuana.Quote:
