oh yeah i forgot... the NL is day 14 into flower and ID'd female;)
good to see you back on the boards again bhb. very nice bushes you got there
Appreciate it cactus Been too damn long! Oh my oh my and I've almost forgotten what the after work toke was like. How dare I!
PS, good o3 generator came in today. Variable w/ timer. 10-100 mgph. Pluged it in full blast for 15 mins and kicked it off. Rooms yummy fresh.
The small newaire generators might make it out into the living room to hit any unlikely escaping odor. Tho I dont have to worry about that quite yet... Not till im full bloom w/ week(s) till harvest. I wish odor was my problem right now... Prune clippings are good, but damnit I want pretty flowers in my bowl!!! I've been spoiled too long :(
hey bhb i just read this intire thread and i must say good job. im fairly new to this myself but it seems like u really know your shit. happy smokin.
I have a few questions, if you don't mind.
1. How much were each of those fluorescent lights your hangin above the l5 plants cost? and where did you get em? I'm curious of a place that has good deals on them, same with the 150w HPS light.
2. Since you use a 150w HPS for flowering, what sort of temperatures do you get inside your cab? does any extreme heat or extreme cold in your area affect it much? I know you have intakes with fans right, since you use a cab with that sorta light how many fans are needed to keep it at ideal temperatures?
3. Does the Ozium really work? and if it is does it left any kind of noticeable after smell? even if something not that that strong, does it smell like anything at all in piarticular?
Never mind questions, genuine questions that havent been answered 100000 times in other posts. The lights that I have hanging... the fixtures are from wallmart. You can find them in the lighting section usually. $5.88 a piece. I use an assortment of different CFLs through out the grow however. The two that are used mainly are 26w (1750 lumen ea) and the 46w (2750) lumen ea. The 26w you can usually get in a pack of like 6 for $12, the 46w are like $8 a pop. The fixtures themselves are handy, you can use them w/ or w/o the clips, w/ or w/o the reflectors, etc. Suitable and adaptable, which if youve read the rest of this post, is one thing I'm really all about. No two grows are the same and shit always pops up, adapting is essential imho.Quote:

I swear by ozium. Its good stuff, and it leaves a fresh sent... i dont know how to explain it... Its a fresh clean scent? Now. Its by no means a 100% fix, because Im simply not there to spray it all the damn time... Which is why i use a lil here and there in conjunction to the ozone.
Hope that helps :p
Dismantled the 150 from the cabinet and cannabalized it and put it in the closet. (16000 lumen) Also have 4 46w cfls hanging in the closet as supplimental light near the bottoms of the plants (extra 11000 lumen). So the cabinet is now running at 27000 lumens and day 2 flower, a little over half of which warm spectrum and a lil under half cool spectrum. (Its quite an interesting purple hue of light).
The reasoning... the NL that I thought was female was indeed a hermaphordite. And im fine with that. I had a feeling that would happen seeing as how the seeds were f2's from a prior grow that self polinated at the end of the grow. NL has a tendancy of doing that.
He/she/it made the honorable sacrifice of its life so that 5 cali-o bushes could progress into flower. Besides, the LAST thing i wanted to happen would have been for hermie NL to contaminate and pollinate the Cali-O.
I want sinsemillia for the closet grow. But first grow in the new place w/ the new setup etc...... I was willing to have 0 return this run in the name of discovery.
Gotta be willing to fuck it up to learn from it ya know?
Keep ya updated as things progress.
First real feeding time. Show ya how bright the closet is now w/ the HPS on... overall setup, gallon milk jug was to feed but also for size proportion.
Second pic is after its wrapped back up and im poking my head over the top lookin down in on them
Pic 3 is the new ozone generator.
I dont know if anyone read the emergency post, but tomorrow im having pest control come in... one of the ladies found a mouse.
I have my grow area easy to disassemble to begin with. I have a LARGE box that unfortunatly will only fit 3 plants. I did my best sexing, and narrowed it down to 3 plants. 2 should be female and the third is an unknown. Sadly, under such short notice I will only be able to conceal 3 plants. They will be losing ~1 hour of light...
I'm not too worried about the lighting however, ive had the power go out before and been fine.
The plants will be plastic wrapped and in the box w/ a slew of other boxes.
o3 will be flooding the room for an hour at 100 mgph prior, and the to miniature units will be in the room.
I'm not worried at all, so thats good.
Anyway here are the babies something like a week into flower.
Wish me luck! (My only non confidence is getting up earlier in the a.m. to actually pull everything down. Fucking mornings ugh :(
yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!
ya know, its like day 10 or 14 flowering... i dont even know?!? :stoned:
days are aproximates. you can eye ball em when theyre ripe.
all went well w/ lil scare... good to keep ya on your toes i guess...
They are all female. They are all strong and healthy and i think slowing down the stretch. Nice healthy green leaves. Pushing 11 blades, tall... full... lush...
I say this each grow but they're beautyful. And they're not even budding budding yet. So far, most vigorous grow yet... they've just rocketed since the begining full of life... and breaking past the space confines of the cabinet is quite a thrill.
I cant wait to see what a MAIN cola looks like, ive ALWAYS pruned/lst'd mini bushes. This is like a new experiment for me and im sucking it in as a learning opp. Like I said, ive never gone tall always squat and bushy.
Contiplating adding 3 more 46 w CFLs near the bottom bottom of the plant just to get more even lighting down under where the sun dont shine (couldnt resist using that in a sentence).
... Where the hps doesnt penetrate as well ;)
Hey Bong,
Just imagine what those jokers would look like if they were hydroponic.
Tryna
A full closet of growth. Budding nicely too. Had to do a lil snipping.
Also thinking about retiring this tread and opening a seperate closet grow thread since this isnt so much my cabby anymore.
dude i didnt see you post anywhere how much you got form that plant that you had only 1 cuz the other stretched too much???
yeah i didnt. i dont weigh. its personal. no scale in house. no nada. i can eyeball pretty well, i didnt always grow my own ;)
the c99 grow i think your talking about... 2-3 oz, definatly more toward the 3. Lets just say... I smoked 1-3 bowls a sitting... on average 4ish times a day, every day, for oh... a lil over 3 mos. All on the same plant. (weekends sat/sun cloud 9 24/7) :) if you wanna know weight i cant tell you, but i will say it was enough and i was happy.
my nicest grow to date imho. im waiting to see how splitting that 150 3 ways works w/ the closet this grow :)
sadly, im seriously seriously pushing for a 250w for my new adventure. ideally freeing the 150 back up so ill also have the cabinet back if i need it.
seperate cab also breeds ideas for cloning/breeding. but thats still a ways. but we gotta plan to the future eh?
plus a duel light possibility for the closet.... well see
hey there bonghitboy. i'm new to this forum and i wanted to ask you. What dimensions was the cab grow. i didnt find it any where in this thread.
thanks
- o my
Cab dimensions are on the first page, 1/2 way down on the blueprint pic. The blueprint had tweaks done to it as i progressed, but that was the orig layout and the dimensons are the same.
If you follow the blueprint i will say you need 2 more additional vents up top. And if your growing hydro i strongly suggest you make proper modifications and put the electronics up top. Having a DWC w/ electronics under it is asking for trouble.
Peace. Hope it helps.
(PS, small screw hooks were added inside the cab as well for LST points. Needed areas to tie to.)
hey thanks buddy. how much did that walmart cab cost you? i am building my own cab thing my dimensions are basically the same. the thing is that i am making it out of a styrofoam like board and i am trying to keep it stable and well constructed. i would rather spend a few bucks and get a cabinet then have a flimsy grow box.
I think the cab itself was like $50. I used a 1/4" sheet of plywood as opposed to the cardboard backboard it came with. So thats like an extra $12 for the wood. Give em the height and length, they do 2 cuts for free at home depot. All I had to do was bring it home and nail it on. If ya go that route, circle saw drill bits to cut holes make life easy. Optional... but i also cauked the entire thing before lining it w/ reflectic-x. Few hits w/ a staple gun, and the material isnt going anywhere :)
yea thanks buddy. you have been more than helpful. I am getting ready to do a grow of one or two plants, maybe even for seed we'll see, i think i want more bud than seed this time. i just recently decided to do indoor grows in addition to the outdoors i have been doing in order to have a more controlled environment and some more bud during the summer when its pretty lacking around here. i wanna know, how effective is the plexi-glass barrier? and by the way, i am more of a build it myself kind of guy. I know a lot about carpentry a bit about electrician work and the combo makes me love to do shit on my own. i built my grow chamber out of the foam board because i had it around, other wise i would have built a grow room myself with 4 pieces of plywood for 48 dollars if from home depot, or maybe even cheaper if i get it from the local lumber yard. i wired the hps myself, and made an aluminum reflector. damn that shit gets hot. im firing up my grow in the next couple weeks. I hope it goes okay because i have to leave my brother to tend to the grow for a week. :( but hey its an experiment. haha

The light still obviously penetrates and serves its purpose.
Now that you have an attic, you need to vent it but hey now. That attic is alot smaller than the rest of the cabinet.... so... you can get away with less cfm to cool because your not cooling the ENTIRE cabinet, only a smaller section of it. And the two inch slit allows the cool air up and out.
Good luck with your grows man. Hopefully your bro has a green thumb. Glad to help :)
Ill post a pretty pic from my closet grow just cause
heat shields works wonders, i use glass on mine and right now running 2x150watt hps its 70F in there with the lights on right now, great thing to have if heat is a issue just keep the glass clean.
hes right I love that design in Invision Cabinet...Quote:

Long time lurker. I read both your entire closet threat and was curious and read your entire cabinet.
Wow. Awesome work and very inspiring. You give me ideas.......
Thanks.
i was planning to get thta 150w floralux from htg supply but now im thinking about getting a 250w hps and growing in a cabinet i saw at ikea.Im planning on growing 3 hopfully 4 plants in this 19x31x60 cabinet with a tempered lens placed in the middle of a shlef right below the light.I want to do this because hopefully that will increase yield and keep the heat in the sealed upper part of the cabinet but i am concered about the light heating up the wood.So this question is going to Bonghit boy what would you recommend for a light the 150 floralux or a 250w hps with a diy lens.
any reliable seed company that will send to the u.s.a.
Is that a statement? Question? Where did it come from cuz this is an old thread?!? I'm happy its still getting hits and still helping people but find my closest threat for current content.Quote:
