Maybe you might look for something more reliable? :D
Yes, conspiracy and cover up, the trademark of modern progressive thinking. Too bad it's usually so easy to shoot down. The real question is why were you so eager to believe it? Again I get back to blame and hate... ;)

Yeah, hahaha, the game warden said that they just changed the law requiring the stamp 5 months ago and that a LOT of hunters didn't know about it. HAHAHA, it turns out, that's no big deal either...hahahaha :D

I'm anti-Bush too because I think he's a certifiable liar that has done detrimental harm to the United States of America but you don't see us all jumping on the bandwagon. Credit where credit is due, please.

People that approve ignorance of the law when public officials are concerned really show their true colours. :)

Maybe we'll debate some of those issues in an appropriate thread but I think I did give credit. I try not to include everyone but I'll often say most or many. C'mon, you know the mentality that I'm talking about in places like these.
Oh please, the game warden said it wasn't a big deal and that a lot of hunters didn't know about the recent change, the stamp was never needed before. Surely you're not complaining because LEO is giving citizens a grace period or suggesting some conspiracy? People that spell color with a u often show something important too. Where are you from, btw? :D

LOL. Truly amazing. I'm not from the UK nor did I study British English but I did live there for a short period. Do I now have enough rights to use the letter "u" in my words?
LOL.
Tyre. BOO!
LOL. Stupid fucking Americans.

You're right on one point-- the situation you described is a very plausible way for an accident to happen that places blame squarely on the shoulders of the non-government figure. That doesn't mean it's what actually happened, though.
I figure Cheney had one too many dry martinis before going out to play machoman with his millionaire buddies, and just got careless. But god forbid we make guns look dangerous--or Cheney look incompetent-- so we make up some cover-up story placing the blame on the other guy, and making Cheney look like a good, responsible person.

It's not just the UK that uses the u but you never did say where you were from. Was that intentionally vague? Sorry, was I supposed to not notice? :D

Did YOU read the whole thread? I posted a link to a yahoo post that had an eyewitness saying that exact thing. She owns the ranch and was the one that reported it to the local paper.
Quote:
Whittington shot a bird and went to look for it in the tall grass, while Cheney and the third hunter walked to another spot and discovered a second covey.
Whittington "came up from behind the vice president and the other hunter and didn't signal them or indicate to them or announce himself," Armstrong said.
"The vice president didn't see him," she continued. "The covey flushed and the vice president picked out a bird and was following it and shot. And by god, Harry was in the line of fire and got peppered pretty good."
Maybe you've never hunted quail? ;)

Don't get me wrong, I don't doubt the plausibility of the situation the eyewitness described. All I'm questioning is whether or not that is what actually happened in this particular instance. Naturally, if asked kindly by the Secret Service to not tell the media the truth about the situation--whatever that truth may be--one would generally comply.
All I mean to say is that it strikes me as suspect that a gun accident involving the Vice President as the shooter is so neatly explained a way in a manner removing all blame from the VP. As I have never gone quail hunting, I don't know about the relative likelihood of this particular gunshot scenario compared to others, but it seems odd to me that the VP is relieved of all blame so easily-- especially when the Vice President's office waited a day to disclose this information. If the VP was really so blameless, what took them so long?
While the actions of Whittington may have been irresponsible, it also seems to me that someone holding a loaded shotgun should have the burden of being oriented in his surroundings, especially in relation to the other members of his party. It seems irresponsible to shoot a shotgun in any direction if you don't know where one member of your hunting party is.

"If the VP was really so blameless, what took them so long?"
That's just it, because it was a nothing of a story the only people that think it took a long time are those that know little to nothing about it. In other links to the story the owner of the 50k acre ranch said that she's even been peppered. I've been hunting quail for decades, I know people that it's happened to. Ever hear the expression, "making a mountain out of a molehill?" That's all this is. The sky is not falling. The only thing driving this non-story is hate and blame. ;)

To continue dragging it out is ridiculous though. You would think after 6 years in office a little common sense would prevail. When a triviality such as this arises you make a statement immediately and then make yourself available to answer ANY and ALL questions. It's the "oh this is NOTHING don't WORRY but we wont answer ANY more questions" that raises eyebrows. If it is indeed nothing make it public record and move the fuck on. I'm offended that the Bush Administration still, after everything that has happened, insists on censoring itself.
They're obviously playing their own little spin game which I guess is fine but it does a grave injustice to the American people. How many days now has our media been preoccupied with this story because they can't get any more info? Gee, might there be something important going on that we are MISSING?
Rocket-fucking-science.

Bullshit. I used to work 60 hour weeks and still made time for hunting. It can be done, you just have to get your priorities straight. ;)
"Oh and BTW if you think Bush and his entourage of self-righteous pricks would ever endorse medical mmj??"
That's a different thread but, yes, if the legislation rescheduled mj I'm confident that President Bush would sign it because he's trying to be the 2nd President to go 2 terms with no vetoes. It'll be part of his legacy.

Paranoid much? :D Were you upset when Harry Reid (D-NV) kept his stroke last year a secret for 3 days? I think not...

Bullshit, the retarded liberals are dragging this out, with their own spin game because they hate President Bush, nothing more. It's nothing more than Sore/Looserman2000 bitterness and jealousy revisited. Sour grapes, plain and simple.

Cheney takes responsibility...

"Ultimately I'm the guy who pulled the trigger, that fired the round that hit Harry," Cheney said in his first interview since the incident. "I'm the guy who pulled the trigger and shot my friend."

You're the one with your panties in a bunch because the press release took 14 hours. I'm just asked if you were equally concerned when Reid kept his stroke secret for 3 days or if the hypocrisy is based on your previously admitted anti-Bush bias? ;)
The owner of the ranch and eye witness to the accident gave a press release the next morning and Cheney gave an interview today and explained everything from his side. The local authorties said it was just an accident, can't you get over it yet? What more do you want from him?

According to the report he's 65 but it doesn't say how long he or Whittington have been hunters. Most hunters start asa kid with their relatives so I'd guess he's been hunting over 50 years. The sites I've read so far just say "experienced" and describe him as "He's a great shot. He's very safety conscious. This is something that unfortunately was a bad accident and when you're with a group like that, he's safe or safer than all the rest of us..." type comments. Really, hunting accidents do happen. ;)

The investigation reveals no alcohol, or misconduct involved in the incident. Mr Whittington's interview collaberated Vice President Cheney's statement. This Department is fully satisfied that this was no more than a hunting accident.

Well I guess that finally chilled out the hate and blame crowd. :D
Now...for those of you that laughed at Cheney for the ACCIDENT:
http://cbs4denver.com/local/local_story_047101455.html
Quote:
Man Shot In Accident After Laughing At Cheney
(AP) LAFAYETTE, Colo. Hours after laughing about Vice President Dick Cheney's hunting mishap, Josh Kayser was himself shot by a friend during a hunting expedition.
The 21-year-old Lafayette man was taken to the hospital Monday night after his girlfriend accidentally shot him while they were trailing a raccoon that had been preying on chickens on his family's property.
"I read that thing about the vice president and said to myself 'how can you shoot your friend with your gun?' And look what happened," he said Tuesday.
Kayser was crouched down to look under a shed where he thought a wounded raccoon was hiding, and his 17-year-old girlfriend accidentally shot him with a .22-caliber rifle. Police have not identified the girlfriend.
Karma...

Bill Clinton may have received a blow job from another women but that is between he and his wife.Maybe they had an understanding. This does not make him a bad President or even a bad person.
No charges.Hmmm.I bet if it was in a lower income area, they would throw the book at them..
-

I think they made way too big of a deal about the blow job but the fact remains that he lied to the American people under oath.....even about pot he lied...I smoked it but I didn't inhale....please....I didn't not have sexual relations with that woman Miss Lewinski (sp)..... I'm mad cause he lied about stupid shit stuff he didn't even have to lie about.
I live in hunting grand central. I can't sling a dead cat without hitting at least 10 or 12 hunters. This kind of stuff happens all of the time. He should just be glad it wasn't buck shot   And no they don't normally charge people in hunting accidents with attempted manslaughter regardless of what income you are.
