If someone mist's plants with nutes in it over a period of a couple of weeks you can get nute burn on the leave's, often times the older leaves will begin to burn or yellow first just because they are older leaves and have been exposed to the spraying for a longer period of time then the new growth. It isnt necessary to fertilize a plant through its leaves, professional outdoor gardeners do this to Rhoddodendron's and the like because the roots are very deep.

Thanks for the advice guys. The water I mist with is straight ph'd water, no nutes. Once they all show their sex, I'll stop misting.

Alright, I'm in the new place now. Moving in the snow sucks, it just started the day we started moving. It is good for the plants though and the vent is on a shorter duct now so there is a lot more air coming in. I'll get pics of the whole setup later.

The plants are looking better, and they have been on 12/12 since day 40 and I have switched to the Hydro Fuel Bloom 2 part mix. One plant is female for sure (the shortest one), there are quite a few white hairs. The other two biggest ones havn't shown yet. I'll get pics as soon as I can...I dont know where I packed the batteries for my digicam.

The two big ones (from the 6x7" pots) are both 20" and the female (from the 6x5" pot) is 14".

Pics will be added ASAP, but I dont think it will focus all that good on the pistils since the camera is a 2.0 MP.

day 5 of flower...

Well, the software for my digicam is screwed, so it will be a couple days until I can get pics, but I have taken a few.

Now, I have a question. I just started flowering on day 40, they are in 3 gal pots and they are 21", 21" and 17" tall now. The roots are starting to show through the holes in the bottom of the pots. Do I need to transplant again (I would cut the bottom and put each on top of another 3 gal pot)? Or should I wait till they all show flowers and just transplant the females? Also, I have noticed that no new hair have grown on the female since yesterday and the other two still havn't shown any flowers, so now I am wondering if they need to be transplanted before anything new happens. If you guys could help out, it would be great. Thanks.

NOW!!! Get them into their final pot now that will take em' through flower. Try your best to use the same soil mix to prevent shock. I even go as far as to keep the soil in my grow room for 24 hours to assure that the temp. is the same. Good luck!!! :thumbsup:

Cool, thanks alot man...the lights just went off so I will transplant tomarrow. Should another 3 gal pot be enough or should I get 5 gal pots to go underneath? I would just put them into 5 gal pots, but I dont think i'll be able to take the whole rootball out of a 3 gal pot. without it breaking.

Damn, I was hoping I wouldn't have to transplant, oh well, next grow I'm only doing a 28 day veg instead of 40 and putting them right from 1 gal pots to 5 gal.

Im on day 35 and 30 for the other and thinking about starting flowering now...what made you want to flower earlier next time?

Ps. I went from growing 3 plants in 1 1 gal. pot and transplanting the healthiest into a 3 gal. pot ..The other 2 are still in the one gallon and im going to keep them there, im not going to harvest much off them i dont think..but well see what happens..

I remember seeing this method where you cut out the bottom of your smaller pot and set it a couple of inches deep in your new pot. Good Luck!! :thumbsup:

Seems to be the right height for the plant. You get a lot of grow during the first weeks of flowering. Gotta be able to control that height growing indoors.

So you think I should flower now?...The one in the 3 gal pot isnt that tall just really bushy..

"Weeks" is a guideline. I usually put them into flower somewhere around 18", I find that manageable for my room. Some go into flower at 12". Depends on how tall you want your babies to be without burning up on your lights when they have fully grown. Good Luck!! :thumbsup:

Heres the one in the 3 gal and the other one ..the biggest

Psycho4Bud - Ya, thats the method I was planning on using.

CANABIZNIS - as I understand it, you can flower anytime after you have a decent amount of secondary growth, its just the longer you leave it in veg., the bigger your yeild will be (to a point).

I want to do a shorter veg next time simply so I only have to transplant once and the whole process will go a bit quicker and easier, also I can harvest more frequently. My long term goals are to do a 50 - 99 plant, 2 level SOG in the storage room. Until then, each grow will get bigger and bigger. They just changed it so anything under 100 plants in my area will only get you probabtion (previously a 2-year sentence). For 4 or under, they just take it all away.

I'd put them into flower for sure. Myself, I use growbags...their a little more upright. Is that really only 3 gal.? If so, ya...do the transplant now and definately put em' into flower! Good luck!!! :thumbsup:

I go from peat trays to a six inch pot and then to a 5-7 gallon growbag. Their in the growbags by at least week 4.

Indicloset..do you live in the states? I havent heard about that law here thats why I was wondereng..I think here in california anything over 1 or 2 is like 4 years prison or something..

No, I'm in Vancouver, BC, Canada. We got guys like Marc Emery of the BCMP fighting for us and the drug laws have always been very lax around here (not just for pot) and are more often not enforced. Everyone around here either grows it or sells it...I have heard that on average, every 4th house in downtown Vancouver has some sort of grow in it. Shit, just kiddy corner to my apartment, there was someone moving out, they told me to "be careful with the mary jane" as I peeped into their apartment to see rooms scattered with wires and ducting...every apartment complex I or any of my friends have ever lived in has had the smell of pot through the halls and not only from us. I have a friend who was growing about 25 plants in his place...the cops showed up for a domestic dispute and only took the plants and equipment, no charges or arrests. I have also seen and heard a countless number of stories like this and simlilar to this, even involving cops doing illegal things, being very blatently obvious about it and acting like they do it all the time. It is very close to being legalized here, I believe

Alright, I think I need some help here...or someone to tell me it will be alright..lol. Anyways, I transplanted 1 plant so far and when I cut the bottom off the pot, I cut a few roots as well because there were a few roots that got left behind in the bottom peice I cut off. Also, tiny amounts of soil chunked off and stuck to the bottom of the peice I cut off, in turn, that pulled out a couple roots and caused them to hang from the bottom of the rootball when I lifted it. Is this alright? Will it recover?

Anything I should try differently for the next two?

I did the same thing with the one i transplanted into the 3gal..might look a little droopy for a couple days but will recover.. Oh and I also had a transplant where I literally lost half the roots off the plant and it lived....for awhile anyways..lol

day 6 flower...

Thanks, now it doesn't seem so bad. Anyways, I got the female transplanted with no problem whatsoever. It is now in a 3 gal pot sitting on a 5 gal pot. The other bigger one that I transplanted is in a 3 gal pot sitting on another 3 gal pot.

One more left to do, but i'm not going to do it until tomarrow. The reason is that I just watered the two bigger ones yesterday and the female the day before. I think that is why the bigger one didn't go so great, because it was still pretty wet. The female stayed together just fine since it was more dry. Now I know for the future...wait to transplant until the second day after watering. Thats what I did the last time and it went perfect too.

With the amount that I have learned so far through experiance, I think my next grow will go 10x better and smoother (also I wont have to move the plants in the snow in the middle of the grow..lol...I didnt mean for that to rhyme by the way). Thanks alot for all the help so far everyone!

Well, the tall one I transplanted yesterday turned out to be male so I chopped it and hung it. The other tall one I transplanted today, but it looks like it has balls as well...not sure though, I'll see tomarrow.

Here's my question : Do I have to wait for the male to dry before I can make honey oil? I ran out of weed this morning and I really dont want to buy more right now (cant afford it with x-mas coming).

Alright, well the plant seems to have stopped growing taller (its about 2 ft. tall right now), but the buds seem to be getting a bit bigger, but slowly. The temp has been at 83 - 90 depending on the weather outside since thats where the fan is sucking from. If it goes up to 90, I usually open the door a crack to drop it down a few degrees.

Can someone tell me what they think, is she close to ready? Can I expect the buds to get much bigger, or is it about done?

Also, if I have to look at the trichs, where can I get a 10x magnifier, is it just a regular magnifiying glass?

Anyways, any help would be appreciated. I can wait to try her out, I think the buds look real nice, but I wouldn't mind if they were a bit bigger, we'll see I guess.

Dude, your plants are looking sweet in my opinion. As to the buds getting bigger, fatter, stickier, heavier and stonier, I'm sure it'll be that way. I'm a newb, nerver seen a flowering plant (cannabis plant that is, gK&tC)... but my friend, you're on day 37... you've got how many to go? 23 average? Dude, they'll get bigger.

As to the magnifying glass, I suggest you get something more powerfull than 10x. I think 100x is too much, but 40, 60 or 80. I believe. Where to get it? I've read here that you can try Radio Shack. They've got the one for under $10. But, I've gone to various Radio Shacks over where I live, and nothing. :( Good luck with the microscope hunt :thumbsup:

Thanks man. Its good to hear a second opinion, I've been sitting here thinking it should be ready in a week or two since so many hairs are turning orange...lol. I dont know what my nighttime temps are, I dont want to open the door and disturb her during the dark period. I really need to get one of those remote thermometers. The intake fan turns off at night along with the light or I think it will get too cold in there. The osillating fan stays on all night to move the air around.

So its actually a microscope that I need...hmm...so is it something that you hold and look at the trichs on the plant or do you need to take a leaf off and then look at it under the scope?

I was also wondering if anyone knows if mylar will block light out during the light, like if your hold a flashlight to it, would you be able to see the light on the othert side. I was thinking of doing the whole closet in mylar including the floor as well instead of the clear plastic I have down now. That should improve the light and I'm hoping it will also block light out during the night so I can take down the blankets that are hanging over the closet.

Yeah, you need a small microscope. A handheld version. As to taking a leaf off, that was what I was thinking of doing... I mean, I'm not going to try and look at the trichomes with my entire hand/body/microscope/plant setup moving back and forth. I was thinking of cutting off a little piece and observing that on a table.

As to the Mylar, yes it will block light... but not perfectly. At least, I've got the 2mil thick version, and I can hold it up to a ceiling bulb, and I'll see the bulb slightly.

day 43 flower...

Well, I dont think its growing anymore, maybe very very little, is it supposed to be this slow? The seed bank said the flowering time is 4 - 6 weeks, so should I still wait until about 60 days?

I've got a seed, possibly two, one right below the other...I took a pic, but you cant see that great (I circled it). Only two I can find and I cannot find any pollen sacks at all. I have also noticed that there are little tiny yellow leaves starting to stick out of a couple of the buds, dont know what these are.

I added another 5" inline fan so now I have a proper exhaust. I was able to move the light a bit closer as a result, its about 12 inches away now. Its noticably cooler.

Yes you should and the growth may have stunted because maybe they ran out of root space. Make sure your pot has enough room for their roots. This happened to me on my first grow but I didn't know what it was till I cut them down and tried to take the stem out of the soil (it picked all the soil up along with it.) Anyways, goodluck and I hope you find your problem.

She is in a 3 gal. pot, sitting on top of a 5 gal. pot. The plant is only 2 ft. tall. I dont think its root bound, there are no roots sticking out the bottom like the other times.

I noticed that the pot always seems pretty heavy, probably because it is so deep. After 4 days of no water even, still pretty heavy, but I water anyways. Each time I water, I give about 3/4 of a gallon (till it just starts to drip out of the bottom).

The one thing that has grown are the little tiny branch buds at the bottom that started growing not too long ago.

That plant is abused bro...Over watered..PH probably isn't right...I don't somethings been wrong from the begining...maybe buy a book?

OK. That late into flowering I believe there should be a cutback in the watering. I'm not sure about this so please correct me someone if I'm wrong. But the way I see it is that the plant isn't going to do THAT much growing from here on out besides the flower production. Again, I'm not sure about this. It's real late and I could be way off. Goodluck anyways.

Ya, I know somethings been wrong from the beginning, I burnt them by giving to much nutes and too often, they lost most of their fan leaves because of that. I did a search on overgrow and I could only find a couple posts about the strain. Apparently it is very sensitive to nutes, it says.

I have the ph drops and if I check the water straight out of the tap, it is already ph'd at 6.5 or so. I leave the water out for at least 24 hrs before watering to let the chlorine evaporate, either that or I boil it somtimes.

I think I will cut back on the watering and see what happens, I'm gonna be watering about once a week now.

I have a couple books and I thought I was following the guidelines, but oh well. Is it possible that the plant doesn't like the nutes I'm giving it? They were all doing great until I started with the nutes. And the bud growth, etc... was doing great up until a couple weeks ago. Fan leaves just started dieing off and then the growth slowed. If you look up the page a bit, you will see her at day 4 flower, I think that she looked decent there.

Oh well, I know next time will be much better. I got the seeds germinateing right now.

Don't go that far. They do need water, just not a lot. Start off slow and see what goes on. Goodluck.
