I couldn't agree more. Sorry to hear about the police brutality, but as you said, power corrupts, and not just in a very small minority of pigs like idealists would believe. You are certainly not alone in your experiences. And usually, like in your case, the pigs will get off the hook because there's nobody to punish them that they aren't close bedfellows with.Quote:

This goes for both good things and bad. I guess saying I hate cops isn't what I really mean. I don't trust cops. No one should. It doesnt matter what side of the law you're on.

fuck police 1 pulled out in front of my mate (while driving) caused the crash then got a load of witnesses to say it was my mates fault now he's banned. Fair dont think so. They get power and it goes to there heads

Everyone who smokes weed is a criminal. At least in most countries.
My problem is not with one or two people. One or two people could have been fired. It takes a city and a society to create and tolerate the double standard that exists today. You did something wrong, you served your time, and are not bitter because you understand that we all have to be responsible for our actions. Thats how people should be. Am I bitter? I'm the one who won't be able to dance at my wedding because I stood up for what I believe in, and did it in a way that broke no laws what so ever. I really am trying to be as unbiased as I can be, and I see your point as far as blaming the actions of one on a group in general. It's wrong. It's very wrong. I in no way intended for anything I said to be taken as judgement of every individuals character in terms of their everyday lives, beliefes, or actions outside of uniform. I'm sorry if it came across that way. My problem is with the system; it cultivates situations where people get hurt for no reason. Like I said before, people go in with the best intentions. They want to make the world a better place by protecting us from the evil that is inherent in every society. Those people who oppress us and make us lives our lives in fear for ourselves and our kids. Those people who murder and rape innocent people. But where do you draw the line at who the evil really is? How do we protect ourselves when the evil is in our protectors? When I say evil I'm not referring to the people themselves. But when you pick up a gun you have power over every unarmed man, woman, and child who make up the majority of our neighborhoods. When the evil is the same on both sides of the law you have to wonder where the rest of us fall into place.
And its not even in the US. Now shoot first ask questions later is the accepted policy. I don't really know how I can put into words just how horrible and outrageous this is. To do away with police entirety in one bold step would be a rash and foolish decision to make. But as we are giving away more and more of our freedoms for the sake of being free how can we even claim to have the same fundamental values that America was founded on? We train new cops that there is one good and one evil. Everything is black or white. And in their minds they take this to heart in justifying their actions. As long as you can rationalize what your doing we can do anything guilt free. You/we need to have faith in other people. If it came down to it, most people would not go on a violent killing spree the second an authority figure is removed and there are no legal consequences for our actions. Look at what happened in New York after 9/11. There were no enforceable laws to go by that day. People not only continued to live there lives in a civil manor, they went out of their way to help others. We do live in a world where its every man for himself. It's financial gain over the worker who lost his job because its cheaper to have over seas labor do it for pennies. I understand that you may not agree with me, thats your right and that right should be protected. And much of what I said wasn't directed at you as I'm sure your post wasn't directed at me. I'm 18. I'm going to start college in a few weeks. I have no idea how old you are or what your life experiences may have been. Funny you bring up 9/11. Those who hijacked the planes believed that they were ridding the earth of evil. Were all those people that died evil? NO. But they believed it based on their education of western society and the Us actions around the world.

The cops around here try to pull so much shit . They have pulled vehicals for no reason
and try to search with out probable cuase or warrant. They are most definatly not my friends and are just trying to make themselves look good. Also they camp for speeders in Road Work Areas set up specificaly for catching speeders. There is also a blacklist. They aren't suppose to have a blacklist are they? You need to have a lawyer before they quit trying to fuck you around. And that shit is expensive.
puppet regime? never! that being said, I was 16 when it happned and my dad wouldnt let me and there was nothing I could do about it. I know that seems kind of unbelievable, but its the truth. As far as the video footage goes, the only copy I know of was on my ex boyfriends computer, along with all the pictures of my injuries, He later reformated his hard drive without saving a copy of either. I know this is my fault for not being more carefull and having hard copies of them but hey, I was 16. There are copies of the medical report filed the day it happened, severl later visits to try and guess the extent of the damage to my ankle, and the report on what ever they found when I had it reconstructed. Now that I'm 18 I dont know if I can take any legal action on it now. My friends case hasnt even gone to court yet (we went to lawyers willing to take the case for free so the delay is somewhat understandable). I'm going to try and contact them again and see if there is anything I can do at this point. And FunkyMonkey, I need sleep before I respond to you. I've gotten 4 hours of sleep in the past 48 so thinking is getting a bit hard.

I don't hate all feds, i've been let off a few times for a 20 sac here, a half quat there, and those cops were cool, were easy to talk to, even admitted to burnin herb back in the day. But most are assholes. I got beat with a nightstick for no fuckin reason. He said I smelled like herb, so he hit me in the back, kicked me twice, and cuffed me. When I fell I got a black eye. He let me go with a fuckin grin on his face, I looked at his badge as I left, and when I turned the corner I wrote it down. I went to my friend's house, and told him, and he made a call to his uncle, who's a cop, but from a different division. He gave him the badge number, and that punkass cop got suspended for 3 months, no pay..

ive unfortunately been dealing with cops since i was probably 15 or so. Some are good..some can be dicks. Pretty much mimics society. Don't get me wrong, I fully understand that they have a job to do. However I think that the problem is their ego or inflated-self that is the issue. It's the "holy'r than thou" attidute that alot of them carry. Im not advicating a world without rules or people to enforce them, but it seems like cops just enjoy fucking with the Average Joe and making their lives worse when it's not necessary.
I was just arrested this weekend and i dont hate cops, they are only doing their jobs. Unless they act like assholes and shit then hate em but in all actuallity i have met more nice cops than assholes in my days. If you dont assume they are dicks and treat em like they are then most of the time they wont assume you are a jackass and treat you like one. or... mabye im just a naive idealist, im told that often

One thing I think about often is the sting operation, being the buyer or the seller, trying to arrest people. If cops really felt strongly about representing the side of good, and wanted to see the good that lies in society, that would mean during a sting operation that they should hope nobody breaks the law that night so that it shows their town is safe. Is that what they hope? Absolutely not. They want you to break the law so that they can arrest you and take you to jail and take your freedom away, IT IS WHAT THEY DO. As for the type of people who become cops, lets just look at the list, which i have come up with and I think all fall into some category:
1. Those who were bullied and picked on become cops so that they can now do the bullying - I don't know about you, but I don't want someone like that being on the other side of the law who is only doing their job to dish out the shit that they had to put up with
2. Failures - During college, plenty of people that I knew found the curriculum to be hard and their chosen career to be more than they could handle. You know what I heard every one of them say they were gonna do instead? Become a cop. I don't want people on that side of the law to be there because they failed at their original chosen profession
3. Tradition - These are the only real cops who I can find no reason to hate. They have a family history of law enforecement and are basically born into it. These type of people generally want to help people and do their job because they do care about the side of good.
In any case, they are all sociopaths in the same sense as a serial killer. The analogy is not about killing, it's about indifference - the absence of feeling. They don't give a fuck if you get a night in jail or ten years for some plants, as far as they are concerned, you deserve it. You think a nonviolent offender deserves to be around rapists and murderers, deserves to be raped and if he doesn't allow himself to be raped, deserves to be killed? That's the truth anyone who goes to prison faces and people who don't harm people or even themselves, have to place in prison but as far as the law is concerned, they do. I don't know about the rest of you, but that is 100% absolutely fucking FUCKED UP to do to a nonviolent person. And we smokers stand the chance of having to face that if we get busted. That is fucking bullshit plain and simple. The cops know what can happen to you and they know all you did was have some weed on you and they are going to put you in that position? Fucking sociopaths, plain and simple
A crooked cop, breaks the law, takes stuff for his own personal greed, hes worse than a criminal because at least they admit that they are.
It would be good to be one though (a crooked cop) because you could get as much free weed as you wanted.

Cops are doing their jobs just like anyone else. It's not their fault that the government says that they need to arrest people for smoking weed. A lot of them feel the same way we do about that particular law. And I personally have had cops look the other way on it.
So no, I do not hate cops. Sure, some are corrupt, but most of them are out there keeping your ass from getting shot or robbed everytime you walk down the street.
Yes, marijuana laws suck, and need to be changed. But it's not the police who have the power to do that. They just want to get paid and go home to their families like the rest of us.

What I hate is this "oh they're just doing their job" crap. Thats irrelevant because nobody made these people become cops. They don't HAVE to do shit. If I get pulled over and a cop smells weed and searches and finds something, he would take me to jail. Because he is doing his job? Who the hell is going to know that he found weed and didn't arrest the guy? Nobody. He doesn't HAVE to do anything. Nazis were just doing their job weren't they? I understand that arresting someone for weed and genocide are two different ballparks but fact of the matter is, just because you are a paid police officer doesn't mean you have to arrest someone every time you find weed. That means they do the shit because they want to, or they think it's actually dangerous, which it isn't. Any cop knows, probably first-hand, what alcohol does because I'm sure they've dealt with pleny of dui crashes. But how many of those involve someone who was too high to drive and got into a crash? Probably zero and I can tell you from plenty of driving experience that no matter how fucking high I am I can still drive my car and never come close to an accident. Get me drunk and I won't even fucking try it. How come someone who isn't driving or operating machinery can get arrested for having weed but the same guy standing next to me could be drunk and way more intoxicated, but because alcohol is legal, he'd never be bothered? These guys are smart enough to know what is more dangerous but do they ever even try to reason with anybody about trying to change the pot laws or penalties based on their statistics and experience from a non-user point-of-view? Any responsible or intelligent person would. Do they? No - they are just doing their job - what a fucking bullshit reason for something
The CHP as of 2006 all got a letter in CA saying that if they come accross a medical weed user and hes got his papers let him go. I hope they do there Job!:smokin: Befor this tho last year i was cought with my papers on me and he let me go was lucky that officer knew cali law :smokin:
In my part of kansas city you cannot depend on cops for anything except traffic tickets.
examples:
--One time i was at my friends house and his neighbor's burgurlar alarm went off so we called 911 while his dad ran over there with a loaded pistol. We told them the alarm went off and we thought somebody broke into his house. It took the cops 2.5 hours to get to the house and they do not live in far away a rural area. Somebody could have easily been shot and killed within 30 minutes. Thank God there was nobody who broke in though.
--Another time this kid was having a party and a partygoer drank to much and got alchohol poisoning. He passed out and nobody could wake him up. We called 911. and even told them to send an ambulance cause he wouldn't wake up. It took the cops a half hour to get to the house which is less than 5 miles from the police station. The kids parents were able to get home and take him up to the hospital before the cops arrived.
Police, crooked or not, good or bad, have to be a fuckin wierd breed anyway. We all have to do sum shit job, and you just pray you get sorted with one that is at least bareable, and gives you enuff money to enjoy the finer things in life, but police, even if you did start the job to make for a better tomorrow, today! do you realise the shit ure gonna have to put up with? You deal with the dead bodies, the old people who have died in there homes and have milk piling up on the doorsteps, and the smell of rotting flesh anointing there walls, those fucking tossers in town that drink to much and just go around going 'Fucking come on then, Fuckin' come on, twat! can't do shit to me copper! Twaaaaaat!' all the stupid fights and shit that people get involved in, and now you have to get involved with a group of pissheads kickin the shit out of eachother, oh yeh, and ure a policeman, which as many have stated, uve already been stigmatized as a tit, I don't see hatred when I look at a copper, just utter fucking confusion, as to why you would want to uphold the law, you have to deal with all that shit, have a confrontation with nearly every1 you talk to, and generally stick out like a sore thumb, in a place where the majority think of you as nothing more than a giant penis with legs, and a hat. I was caught 10 years ago smoking inside a car with a friend outside of a movie theater waiting to go see the movie.
The female policewoman knocked on the window and told me to open the door, as I did a cloud of smoke billowed out.
She said "give me the weed". And I did. She gave me a speech and said,
"I dont want you doing this in public anymore", she handed a 1/2 ounce back to me and said, "keep it in your home".
That really surprised me when she gave it back and said, "have a good day".
I actually thought I would be a arrested or a least to appear in court.
Still cant believe that happened. Left a good impression anyhow.
I dont hate police, I hate crooked police. I think honest police are better than most people because they put their life on the line for other people and I think thats honorable or admirable to keep the world a safer place. Even if they bust a house thats growing marijuana, it's not like the would want to do it but it's illegal and they are just doin their job..thats where the sayin "nothin personal, strictly business" comes in lol.
