Interested in your soil recipe. Would you mind detailing a bit more? Are you going to be feeding nutes with the h2o as well or will they pull it all from the soil? What is the soil mix itself? Any added lime? Just curious as I work through this stuff myself. They look so small in those 1 gallon pots!

My soil is this:
65% Fox Farms Ocean Forest Organic Mix
20% Perlite
10% Worm Castings
5% Bat Guano
All of this is mixed in the new soil. I will be adding Jack's Classic All Purpose in about 2 weeks from today, 1/8 strength. Mixed with water. I do not use anything additional in the soil, I am using Poland Spring Bottled water, about to switch to pH'ed tap water. Need to get a pH pen first though.
Day 13 since planting in soil
Other thoughts: discoloration and leaves curling on this particular strain seems to be normal among feminized seeds.
Here they are, the bounced back about a half day after transplant, they are looking better than ever:

End of day 13, everything is looking good, and very nice clean green, a little curling leaves, but should not be problematic. tEMP 82 degrees, humidity 43%

Day 17 in to veg.
NOTES: Noticed today that the stem is shedding the purplish shell coating off, and stem is very green in color and thicker. Also noticed a very nice odor from the top of each plant, not sure how to describe it, kinda earthy yet pleasant smell, was definitely a very nice smell. Almost as memorable as pepperoni pizza from Pizzeria Regina.
Also, there is lots of new growth from stem on bottom, like sprouts, etc. And the top growth seems to be taking off like I have never seen.
Tomorrow will be pic day, and in about a week will be starting them on nutes.
Day 19 in veg.

Notice on a few of the pics that the stem is shedding, like a reptile growing in to it's new skin. I expect to start nutes tomorrow hopefully, need to grab a few gallon jugs of spring water from wal-mart. Enjoy people, also, lots of new growth as usual.
Day 20 in veg
Started on 1/8 nutes today, Jack's Classic All purpose 20-20-20.
Will have a few pics later on today for you guys to check out.

Enjoy, started 1/8 nutes yesterday in poland spring bottle water. Tons of new growth and more pungent smell everyday, I am loving it.
I noticed a little yellowing on the tips of the leaves after adding nutes, leads me to believe that I need to hold off a little while longer on them. Seems that the FFOF combined with perlite, worm castings, and bat guano have more than enough nutes for a long while. If I am getting nute burn after only 21 days with 1/8 strength, then I think I am doing great on the current soil mix.
hey wuts up ijust had some ww from nirvana on a perpetual harvest. yours are looking great, i got some ppp goin now about a week old with cfls.only thing with the ww is that they seem to never finish flowering, for me anywas. looking good tho ww are pretty good with nutes they can take quite a bit but def hold off till there ready. keep up the good work
Thanks I appreciate it!
I am about to take a few pics, will post in a sec. BRB!
Day 24 in veg, I know, I know, I burned them a little, since then no nutes, and just ph'ed water.
Here they are, tell me you notice a difference in growth, also, there is a few shots of a potential problem on one of the leaves, not sure if it's genetics, anyone know?:

I noticed a red mite on my leaf (in that spot running around) so I put a hot shot no pest strip in there, will this take care of em?
Plant's are doing well, will have pics posted up a little later on, no camera on hand atm. They are about 9 inches tall and are getting lots of new growth everyday, it is noticeable. I am going to start flowering when they are 19 inches tall.

Thanks Kingpiner, I appreciate your interest, stay tuned for final product! :D
I also wanted to add, I am seeing early signs of pre-flower and it is definitely female (on both plants), I see a small ovular shaped ball with 2 short hairs emerging on the 6-7th nodes up. So this is definitely good news!

Day 30 of veg, transplanted today (even got a pic)
I managed to catch a shot of the roots, is this rootbound?

Your plants look kick ass!
No, that's NOT root bound, but yeah it was pretty close, and certainly ready for transplanting,.... By looking at the following pics you didn't up pot by much :wtf:
Your lower leaves are not receiving enough light since the canopy of the plant is now covering them, so the plant is pulling the nutes out of them and letting them die.
As Rusty would say, "Old growth is old news" I wouldn't worry about them and focus on the top of your canopy.
Looking at your thermometer, try and get your temps down a bit more, it's ok, but shaving a couple degree's wouldn't hurt by what I understand. For Veg, you can get up into the 50-60% range for humidity, Might be a hand-in-hand thing, lower your temps, your humidity "Should" increase.
As for any literature,.... Look on Amazon.com for "Jorge Cervantes Marijuana horticulture, The indoor/outdoor Medical grower's bible" ! This book contains bookoo info overload! :D Good read.
All BS aside, plants look good!
Thanks canni... I transplanted from 1 gallon to 3 gallon. Might even go to 5 gallon if I wanna take it that far, but for right now, I am going to try and get some side lighting, I don't wanna see my plants die just yet haha. Maybe a couple of CFL's on the sides.
The black string retractable, spring-loaded lamp hangers are known for breaking at the plastic threaded hooks. China said they would fix the problem a few years ago. lol Search around and you'll see quite a few lamps and hoods crash landing on girls. However, those chains are proven and legit.
Your plants look good. Slight yellowing/light burn on the tips is a good sign you're delivering the maximum nutrients to the plant. The spots on the one leaf, could be a number of things. Usually when you see it low it's chemical burns from nutrient water. Sometimes it's VPD(vapor pressure deficit), you'll see the spots eventually lose all chlorophyll if not corrected. Sometimes w/ tight internodal strains when the fingers overlap you'll see them sweat where the two foliage surfaces meet, typically in hot systems. All that mumbojumbo blah blah...if it's one or two fingers or a couple of fan leafs at the bottom it's not worth trying to correct. If you think it's bugs you can use neem oil to mess up their daily life. Sticky traps at the base of the plant.
cheers
Day 31 in veg.
Plants are looking pretty good with the exception of a few lower leaves yellowing. Lots of new growth, leaves on top have 9 petals on fan leaves. Plants are approx 13 inches tall, definitely females, and definitely smelling very nice. Wondering when I should take clones and from where.
That isn't porn at its finest. Haha just kidding, of course. But IMO, the really beautiful pictures are the ones of the big, juicy, hairy buds.Quote:

I am guessing I should start the cloning process sometime soon, any feedback on that would be appreciated. :)

Enjoy!
First: You could always just trim those branches off. Make sure you do it right and don't shock the plant, though. Read up on it.
Second: I hate you. I've been growing this batch for about 15 days and they still haven't gotten past their baby leaves. I am very obviously doing something wrong. I think I don't have enough heat/moisture, because they are just lacking compared to your grow log.
Damn it.
Looking really nice and healthy, I wish my girls looked that good right now.(I hope they are girls) You got me hooked, I'll be watching to see how the final product comes out.
Thanks guys, I appreciate the interest in my log!
@neceros, make sure you check your pH level, possibly nute lockout.
On a side note, took clone cuttings about 15 mins ago, will have some pics up later, with step by step to what I did and what part of the plant I took from. Also, one plant is 16 inches now, the other is 15 inches. I will have no choice but to start flowering soon! Stay tuned!
You don't even need a propagation or clone dome, why spend $20 when you can get the same result for less than a QUARTER, IT IS SIMPLY MADNESS!
