yep.
BOG used to cut his pails, duct tape the bottom back on and remove the bottom when transplanting on top of a larger pail. I've tried it once and it worked well. In this case I have four or more weeks until I harvest so it should be woth while.

Well Shov, they don't seem to have minded the few days in the dark at all. Hope the rest of flowering runs smoothly for you.
Shovel,
Is BOG not the same creater of the Tier Metheod ?
I don't know about a 'tier method' BOG worked with Bubblegum strain and created some of his own very nice hybrids.
Cutting the bottom of the bag off, i place it into the partially filled 5 gallon pail. Then I use a sissors to triim off the bottom few inches of the bag and fill around it with potting soil. I water both from the top and from the sides to keep the soil equally moist.
Thanks for the messages, Deleaf, Sarah and Frosted.

My that's some nice looking buds Shov, regardless of what you think of your camera they are some mouthwatering pics.
Very nice Shov...Looks like you're gonna have some nice colas with the extra room you've got to run...:)
Looking not bad for a 30 day veg. the G13xNCDG the Z11 sativa pheno is what I'm wondering about. I've never run or remember the details of a NCDG grow and you would think that the sativa would like extra bloom time.
Some shots of the buds.

These next two Z11 plants' buds are loaded with little yellow male stamens. This is un-good, but it explains to me how I've missed these little things in past grows (and the resulting seeds). As this crop is for smoke and not for breeding, I'll leave them alone. I will only grow out seed from the sativa or the G13 and even then I'll be looking for the sativa traits (as I did pollenate with Neville's Haze, remember?) I can only hope... One bit of encouragement, a friend of mine, a long time outdoor cultivator, told me that the most potent weed he ever grew was from a hermie plant. ;)

So, I guess you all love my hermies too? I'm surprised, really. Hermies are the bane of breeders and most growers but I'm not too concerned as long as they put out good smoke and they don't come around when I'm running pricey genetics.

I'm jealous even your "lousy" photos are a 100 times better then my best. I'll never get the hang of it. What I find interesting is that are grows are at pretty much the same stage mine but the difference in the bud size and frostiness is unbelievable the old nights have really affected mine.
Looking at your work for more than a year now,I'm sure those herms will rock...One thing's 4 sho Shov, you're an optimist that will not quit!!!
Do you think that period of darkness had anything to do with them hermin'???
I'm taking a 4 day trip around Christmas but I'll still be early/mid veg...Gonna water/feed em heavy right before I leave and leave the system running,(CFL in the other closet with an open door)The only thing that worries me is cold temps during lights out of the 18/6...Thinkin' about buyin' some REVERSE and PENETRATOR to give me the edge as I've only grown (fem) plants to date...
Good luck with everything Shov...
No, I think that the strain has a propensity to hermie. Also, the seeds came from a grow without a real male, so that is probably the reason. I will not grow out seed from any of these indica Z11 and I will cull any indica doms from any of the G13 or the Z11 sativa's seedlings, if I decide to grow them out. This all depends if the herbs are super outstanding or not.
:hippy:
SHov
crazy bro... you got any idea where they came from... other than the plant i mean. ha ha

HO MY GOD! I tought that last year, one of my plant has banana for years, but you man, got a real banana tree here!!! I'm pretty sure it will also taste banana!!
Everything is beautiful in your garden, even banana shake.
Thanks for the closer pics of nanners. I've got some of those at the moment on my largest girl. Kinda disheartening but like I said, she's the biggest, and thickest. Hope those nanners are good smoke lol :stoned:, for both of us!
NO smoke 'em. You kind of brush them off after they dry. They won't stay on the bud. Yes, there are a shit-ton of 'em, eh?
Shit happens Shov, shame for it to happen in a crop you have intentionally pollinated, but yeah, it happens.Quote:

I love the pics, not everyone grows out hermies so I am glad we have some nice pics to see what it looks like. And the weed still looks bomb ass anyways so its all good.:)
I guess it was that long dark period that caused em to go hermie? I had one plant hermie on me but it only had nanners on the bottom of the budsites... which is why I didn't catch it
NO, the dark period wasn't it. It's the strain.
and thanks bombD. I seen these stamen in this strain when I really looked for them under the female calyxes, after drying. Usually you just have the odd little dried up yellow stamen (banana) in the buds. Not always like fully developed male balls that open up with 5 stamen full of pollen, like a real male.
Have you actually seen the pollen Shov? I have yet to see the magical yellow dust that I'm used to seeing come out of male sacs. I was joking bout smoking the nanners too!! :stoned: What are you opinions about that strain hermying on a consistent basis? Will you stop growing that particular strain or keep on chugging along with it? You think the hermy trait is more dominate now that the male nanners are more developed and flaunting their stuff?Quote:
