wow man.. ive never in my life seen stems that freakin purple.
i know that when stems have stripes of purple on them, it means they are hungry for fertz. i have a few like that. but i think it may straighten out becuz i think i may use a tad more than the recommended strength on the purple striped ones..
u could have some super duper chronic higher in thc than any other plant in the world..haha i dunno man thats crazzy!!!

Well i re potted the last plant today in that really nice soil. I was all ready to put it in this 3 gallon clay pot. This is funny now!
I needed to wash it out, so i got it to the hose on my lap when i realized that i had to set it down before hosing it off. If i put it on the ground i couldnt pick it back up when i was finished. So im pretty creative and start looking around to find a place for it to sit. No place in sight? So i thought id find something to put it on. So i roll through the grass and hit a bump and shit, the damn thing rolled out of my hand, off my feet and and came to rest on the ground.damn Well its on the ground now, so i thought hell with it, il spray it off, cuz im not sure how im going to pick it up anyway. It landed upside down, so i figure il turn it over with my feet rests, which is something i do all the time. So, i put the leg rests against the pot, raise em up, as the pot begins to roll over to get inside it and the fucker smashes in 100 pieces. Shit, because before i tried to turn it i had tried a bunch of different ways to pick it up by the drainage hole. At least half hour, till i felt like i should just clean it while it was on the ground. Then try again to pick it up:wtf: I laughed my ass off, i had too.
But now i dont have a pot. So im thinking and went around the house and had someone dump the soil out of the grow box i used to grow the ones in my avatar. Damn the roots were thick! So i washed it out really good and i figure i got two 4-5'ers out of it, one plant would be perfect.
The first two pics are the last plant that needed a last resting place till October. If you blow it up you can see a nute problem. Very purple stems and leaves.

I moved the other plant that had been getting light at night from the deck light when the chick would work a night shift. My daughter would turn it on. While reading a thread this guys buds were really small and he couldnt understand. So, this guy says "maybe someone is keeping an eye on them and using a flash light to create a light leak". BOOM it hit me. I figured that my 8 week old plants arnt flowering because that light gets turned on about 2-3 times a week. I took one from the top of the deck:D
Then what shows how much it sticks up from the ground to the floor of the deck. Im going to nail a cardboard square there, just in case. There both down there now.:weedpoke:
I started to fertilize my in the ground plants. If you have been keeping up with this attempt to grow in the ground and pots you've read that i had burned em up bad. I haven't used any feet till just yesterday. Some are really small and three look very nice. Well one looks very nice, the others have new growth and i could get something off them:thumbsup:
A few of the nice ones. They are about waist high. I have one that has 3-4 branches that are growing strong.
And my 1st attempt to make a clone. I didn't follow the rules, but its still alive. It broke off the plant i have in my garden. Its the first plant in this thread, but topped it at about the 3rd node and now its gone crazy. Still growing strong, but i think its rotting. Thats why i got it out of the pot. I read. Then knew what i did wrong. Old soil, over fert and not enough drainage.

I hope someone can give some advise on this plant. I'm seeing i believe what looks like a hermy? Its my main plant and its sitting near an unsexed plant. Will it hurt the other plant if its a hermy? Or is it a male? Or do i need more time? 2 pics.
Also, half this plant that i put in my garden is growing big and looks female, but there is rot at the bottom of the plant and i cant diagnose this problem.

The garden plant looks nice with its new growth, but I need to stop the root rot or what ever it is.
Look at the tops on this plant! I did everything correct on this plant, but the damn light i just found out. If its a hermy, I guess it was the light. :(
I can't see any thing in the pics that gives definitive evidence of male/female either way. What did you see that is making you go hermie crazy?
You would have to get a close up of the nodes that isn't fuzzy for someone here to tell you. If you see pistils at all the nodes, then suddenly a male flower appears, you have a hermie. Short of that, you will just have to wait and see. Have you seen pistils on any of them yet?

I did click on the pics, and they were too blurry at the nodes to discern either way. If you have been picking nanners off, then maybe they are male and not hermie? Do the plants with nanners also have pistils?
Now this pic is as close as possible, at least with my camera. But you must click on it to make it larger. Iv seen pistils on the plant, so maybe a hermy? I hope not but know its not a male.
I picked one open and there really wasn't much in it. To be honest it looked like a white pistil, but it was really small and probably wishful thinking

No matter how many exclamation points you put on the title it won't help anyone see the pic. Still too blurry, and yes i'm not pc retarded, I have photoshop and can download edit correct sharpen and all that. And I still can't see shit. I do have 20/15 vision, so I know it's not me.
If you think it's a hermie because it "looks" like your last plant, then it's a hermie. What are you looking to hear?
You have had a female before so you know what it looks like right? You have harvested and smoked from a plant you grew right? So you think this one is a hermie.....WHY?
Just because it had an interrupted night cycle for 3 days? Dosen't neccesarily mean anything. You need to just look at it every day, and if you see male flowers, try your damnedest to remove em. Or spray the male flowers down with water.
If you are looking for someone to tell you it's a hermie, I will do just that so you can move on from this hang up. Other than that, you just have to keep looking because your camera can't take macro pics, which is what we need to tell you what is going on.

I havent grown a plant like this one ever that was female. I worked my ass off and am, i guess a bit nervous which i know many people here do the same and thats just what ya gotta do. I grew 1 female but it was 300feet away from my house and was not able to see it as it grew. I watched the 2 in my avatar grow. That was my first grow. But i read more now and am tryin to improve. If you have read the thread you will understand why i couldnt get to the female that was planted two years ago in june and pulled by someone in sep., which was small but filled with buds and no seeds. So, when im doin what people like yourself are telling me, i want to get it right. Il get a different camra. I payed over $500.00 for this piece of crap a few years ago.
There are pistils on the plant, as well as a couple in the ground i have, but also if i cant tell a hermy from a male, im in trouble because i have one near another plant in the ground that is female. No balls. Visable pistils.
I cant express how much i appreciate you looking and trying to help me! There is an answer, just havent figured out if im just paranoid, or these balls will open and be pistils. I hope. Or, hermy up. If so id like to get femed seeds which i need to read about. Iv read to feed aspirin. Stinkyattic and a few others were discusing this. Sorry man, im not tryin to make you some how create my plant to female. Just trying to learn as i go. And i guess maybe i should not jump the gun and wait. I really just dont want a repeat, but my rambling wont help. I guess i have too much time on my hands.

If those green blurs around the top are the balls you are talking about, and they look like calyxs with no pistils coming out, then it is a hermie. I just can't tell 100% and I hate when people bullshit just to give a direct answer.
If it is in fact a hermie, the only thing you want to keep from it is the pollen from the male flowers. You don't want the plant to self seed or everything you get will be hermie. Keep the hermie pollen, and pollinate a branch of a healthy female with it. Then you should get femenized seeds.
I hope this helps out some.
Of course it helps. I let the hermy plants i was telling you about just grow. How do i keep it from being pollinated? Just try to pick of the little. Hell im not sure what to call them. Iv never seen a pic of a bud in the "process" of growing. So, should i just try to remove them as much as possible?Quote:

Because iv never tried to stop pollination of a plant. I can only think to remove the green sacks or balls, what the hell ever. But im going to see what they look like in a couple of days, because i have one that looks just like it in the woods. And there was no light leak there. Il post it, just in case there is something you might be able to see.

Stinky is spot on. If you saw say, overnight, this change in your plants, or maybe over 2-3 days, they probably are male flowers. Calyxs usually grow in a little smaller in the beginning, and don't really fatten up until the last few weeks of flower. I'm inclined at this point to say that you probably have a hermie there.
It's okay if the hermie pollinates itself, just keep in mind that those AREN'T the seeds you are after. Keep an eye on the flowers, and usually around 10 days or so after they appear, they will open. Once they open wind and that spreads the pollen to the females and then we get seeds. Pollen can travel FAR on the wind.
Once you see the male flowers open, that's when you go in and take as many of them from that hermie as you can get. Keep those tiny flowers/pollen in a container. If you can seperate the pollen from the flower material, do it. Usually done with a keif or pollen box. A simple silkscreen with glass under it would work. If you can't no biggie, i'm sure you can still get it to work.
You take that pollen to another healthy girl, not hermie, must be healthy female. Take a small paintbrush and "paint" the pollen onto the pistils of the healthy girl wherever you want the seeds to grow. Continue plant as normal and harvest seeds once the calyx breaks open and you can EASILY take the seeds out. Those should be femenized. No male DNA used to create them, just male pollen from a FEMALE plant that was stressed, and a healthy female.
BTW, if you want, after you harvest the pollen from the donor, you can spray it down with plain ole H2O. I have read that H2O will render cannabis pollen inert. So you can at least limit the damage somewhat.
Also, make sure the healthy female you want to seed has at minimum 4-5 weeks left to flower so you can get the seeds to finish fully.
I'll hang around and fill in anywhere I can. Keep in mind this is more of a synapsis then a step by step tutorial, but I think you'll grasp the concept.
It just dawned on me that if those are balls on the top of your plant, it might be full on male. I have never seen a hermie go balls out like that so quickly. The male flowers usually develop once the female flowers have set in a bit.
Just seems off to me.
Are you sure what you are seeing is pistils and not axial limbs? Axial limbs are the little green whisps that look kinda like pistils, but occur singly at the nodes. Pistils are found in pairs protruding out of a calyx.

I have couple il post, the first is one i think is male. Its got lots of balls on it and theres a plant right beside it thats unsexed as of now. But, id like a hermy to make fem. seeds. Yeah, definitely male. Are males good for smoking at all? I know you wouldn't want to keep the balls on though. You will need to spray them with water and pick them off. Try to do it delicately, you don't want them opening up and releasing pollen.

If the one in the first pic is a female, it should begin flowering soon as well. You should however probably be able to see preflowers, it looks like it's a couple months old right?
The second pic is a female flower. That's what you are after. I have heard of people smoking males and getting high, but they dry the leaves, not the nanners, and smoke them. I don't know if you get high, but I have heard of that being done to determine which males to breed with. I have never smoked a male, and don't really have the desire to.
As far as topping the plants in the woods, it's hard to tell. You usually would want a week or 2 minimum for your plant to recover from being topped before triggering flowering. In your case mother nature is in control, you may top them now and they start to flower next week. Who knows? Follow your gut. You say you can grow into October? That gives you about 10 weeks or so left, enough to finish an indica, and get near the end of a sativa. As long as any ladies start soon, you should get a viable product at the end of the season.

Most of my plants in the woods are not within my reach. I topped one thats about 3 1/2 feet and its starting to grow out on both sides. Something i could get at wal-mart. I have read that plants can grow 50% bigger in flower, but is that because of the nutes people feed?
I had ordered seeds from a bank which was taken by the boarder control. I ordered White Widow and Blue Berry. So, what im growing is bag seed and on top of that, its not the greatest iv smoked. But thats all i had and if i can get enough to last me, im fine with it. Next year il try a different seed bank. Iv heard that its easier to get them from Canada. Hope thats true because i lost out on big bucks!
I cant tell you how much i appreciate you helping me out here. There are some people that just dont want to share there experience. There is a friend i know that has cronic genitics and the guy will not even come off one seed. Iv known this guy for 30 years. I cant even get em to come over to check out my plants. Hell what you have shown me and the reading iv done, i will be prepared for next year.:thumbsup::rasta:
