An odd error.
I'd hazard to guess,

have a TDS-3 in the mail to me, also the aquarium pH monitor pictured. Couldn't get your exact config unless ordered from China or Hong Kong, $40 for that, so got this one fer $25.
Already got the Milwaukee pH600.

You're running DynaGro for coco, but GH for DWC?
I'm suspect of that Canna stuff. Lotta high-tech braggin' but typos + misspelled words in promo material. I realize some of it's prolly translated but still....chemists don't make many mistakes like that. Omit even a parenthesis in an equation and you mebbe get an explosion stedda fertilizer. Hype? Dunno.

Good move.
KBP to KB4
best way to protect a passed pawn is with a pawn chain.
No wanna overwork my mobile assassins.
It also lets my King into the fray and keeps him safer from your rook.
Now lemme go look at da new toys.

Nope dey bot' inna kitchen wit' Dyna.
Hummin' on de ol' re-flow.
I got the GH guess from bein' too lazy to get up and read da actual label.:wtf: Don't actually even own any General Hydro.:o
Well, the cabinet is at least 18 steps away from da keyboard.
Did I mention that I'm a tad lazy?

Not as bad as those "Superthrive" ads but I had the same take on it.
I use the Dyna at half the recommended strength every other watering.
Res runs at about 600 ppm, but the coco can concentrate your nutes so always check the run-off water.
Had one girl at 1800 ppm cause I skipped the test for about 3 waterings.
I probably got bumfuzzled and nuted three times inna row.
Did not get any signs of damage, but it did not suddenly go all Charles Atlas either.
There's little, if any, advantage and plenty of peril to "pushing" the nutes.
Like light, CO2 and water, enough is enough and too much can kill, yah?
Now to git jiggy wit da woodpushin'

Not sure if this makes my king more vulnerable later. Looks safe enough for now.
This forces a move for you.
You blocked my rook attack, so the only other interesting move I have is pawn development. (Duh, that's all I have....)

I'm pretty sure you meant
P - KKN3 if it forces a move by me, and you already have pawn on KR3
so, KN - Q6
Hey folks, that's why we call it stoner's chess.:D

Glad to hear it, actually. Seems like that GH line was quite expensive. I think my local has Dyna, if not, I'll order it up quick.
Got 2 pairs of matched clones (sat / ind) in 1 gal. pots that need transplanted like, yesterday. Think I'll do one each in coco vs. soil, using the technique you described to transplant to the coco in 3 gal. pots, do 3 gal. soil also for control group.
Just for idiot-proofing, ha, ha:
No stones, etc. for drainage in the bottom of the pot, right? All coco?
How much runoff do you water for? I assume we've got a salts buildup potential. It would make sense to me to water to ~15% runoff with plain, non-pH'ed water, then follow with pH'ed and nuted (if scheduled) water. Kind of a mini-flush with each watering. (?)
Weezard, some of the pointers you're giving me are for DWC, which is next run. Gotta clone 'em up wit clean feets for dat. Dunno if what you're telling me is for coco, too.

So I should shoot for 600ppm on the new nutrient solution? (Going into coco.)
(Water here seems to be pH 7.5 -7.6.) I just made a cup of coco soup with that water and the pH dropped to 6.1. Yoicks! I assume that response'll cool off after a few waterings. Plants prolly like it. What's "good" pH for coco?
Sorry for all the questions. I seriously tried to research this at IC and learned only that lotsa dem jokers can't agree 'bout nuttin'. Nobody offered any supporting data for anything--well, you've been in a coupla those kine conversations yourself, of late. Dunno how kids can get so superstitious at such a tender age.

Don't see how that protects a pawn.
The only thing on that file is my knight.
That move will lose you a pawn and get your rook threatened again.
At least the rook is on a dark square.
Try to keep him on a different color than the king.
A knight fork with check will take the rook.
Would you care to re-consider that move?

I was on K1 with the rook. Meant to move to K2. Sorry. Still sounds weird with your knight. A file is a column, yes? I've got your knight in my Queen's file, and it's onliest tang in there.

OK dat's much mo betta, hang -on
K KN P - K KN 3!
These pawn chains are a bear,
You have to attack the bottom pawn.
Typed a detailed response to your questions in the previous post, and the board ate it. I'll re-do tomorrow.

I'd take with my knight.

Rooks are linear but very mobil.
A knight is non linear but less mobil.
A knight attacks indirectly. And, in the center of the board they threaten 8 squares.
If on a black square, they threaten 8 white squares and vice versa
That allows it to attack a rook without danger of getting, well, rooked.
Thus a knight can threaten the rook and attack the king at the same time if they are both on the same color.
One MUST move the king.
Goodbye rook, or queen.
It's called a knight fork
So, yer either gonna get rooked, or forked, yah?

I'm looking at my pawn chains. They're backwards. Concave. Innie's. No control at center. You have an advancing army. I have 3 chihuahuas on short ropes guarding the palace.

There's an "en passant" rule that allows my pawn to capture just as if you had moved to KB3.
As you see, you are cursed with the burden of forced choice. When all moves suck one chooses the least sucky.
In the end game, the King is a player and supports his pawns in person. ;), ;) nudge, nudge.
-
Calling out to DreadedHermie for a game of "stoner chess"
What I'm saying is, you really don't want to do that, it will give me the game.
On a silly arcane, french sounding rule.

I didn't use drainage stones, but perhaps I should have.
Had a soggybottom problem with the last girl.

That depends on the size of the pot for me.
When they are in 4" pots, I flush with 20% runoff because I can "heft" the excess water out by playing toss the baby over the sink.
In large pots, I try to water "just enough," Never dry, and little or no run-off
Weezard, some of the pointers you're giving me are for DWC, which is next run. Gotta clone 'em up wit clean feets for dat. Dunno if what you're telling me is for coco, too.
Yes, treat coco like hydro including PH.
No need clean feets, though.
I stuff netpots with coco instead of rockwool or hydrotron.
Then nest the netpot inside a plastic pot to keep it from drying out and when it's big enough, Ipoke some strings through the bottom of the netpot to wick up nutes until the roots hit the water.
So, I've cloned directly into coco, Ive germed in coco and I bolt the coco filled netpots to the bottom of a 5g. bucket lid that has a 1" hole in the middle for the plant to grow through.
(1/2" was too small.)
So I should shoot for 600ppm on the new nutrient solution? (Going into coco.)

Ignore the reading right out of the tap.
There's usually not enough dissolved solids for a meaningful reading.
Throw one tsp. per gallon of Dyna in the water then aerate by your favorite method, then read the PH and adjust with Phosphoric acid as needed to hydro range. 5.2 - 6.4
Sorry for all the questions. I seriously tried to research this at IC and learned only that lotsa dem jokers can't agree 'bout nuttin'. Had a little fun.
Just as the flames were dying ovah dere, I took pictures at 12" and 24" from my lensed array that only drops to 38% with a doubling. Makes ISL look wrong.:D

Thanks for that info. Gives me the confidence to :weedpoke:
Got the TDS meter. Well water is ~705, it's highly saline due to salt water intrusion into the aquifers here. Has not been a problem with either strain of genetics I am currently running.
Actually, had an RO system but didn't have enough water pressure to make it work right. And although it removed everything beneficial, didn't have much effect on NaCl.
This'll be fun, though. I just needed a starting point. I think I'll be able to tell what the plant's doing and adjust as I go. And I've got a soil rootball as a small buffer.
Thanks again, DH :thumbsup::greenthumb:

On my board that would lose a pawn to my knight and threaten the rook again.

Well, I'm offering a pawn, which you can take with knight or pawn. I don't see the immediate threat to the rook. (Board still looks like diagram above in this quadrant.)
