They mapped all 23 pairs. They may have had some difficulty at first but they've got the whole thing now.
For something we "cant" do, we've become pretty good at it.
The fact that one view has no evidence whatsoever to back it up?
Hmm, statements like this make me understand why you guys think McCain will win in November. ;)
Oooooh no, do not group me in with religious bullshit. I am a firm atheist and I don't think religion should have ANYTHING to do with the government or schooling! I am for evolution 100%. I am for abortion and a womans rights and I think gay marriage is fine.
Not all Republicans are Christian or religious.

First of all, not true, she has no national experience and only two years of experience as governor. Second of all, you know who she reminds me of? Anne Coulter. Not exactly someone I want getting near the controls of government.

Palin, most likely, will not get the Hillary vote! The two could not be more different!
Women voting for Palin because she is female is like: Well, blacks voting for nObama because he is black!! Unfortunately, we saw this happening quite some time ago! To choose any candidate because of race or sex or because 'she is hot' , just sucks!! And shows the ignorance of the voter!
She is there to get the 'Bible State" votes. When compared to the others, she has all the 'Bush Values'!! More than any other Republican man! She is a walking talking example of one!
If we explore Alaska, what a mistake! We already need to replace the 'Alaskan Pipeline'! It is a daily repair job now! Getting enough oil from Alaska is harder than making peace in the world? Will not cure the problem. May put more Alaskans to work though. She is for getting Alaskan oil and doesn't believe in global warming. (been freezing in Alaska too long).
Bush had Montana, until he started drilling for oil there and taking farmers land! Or was anyone paying attention! That is how, Montana became a Democratic state! The best Bush supporter's (and richest MT rancher) revolted against their farmland becoming oil rig land. So they turned Democrat and campaigned as hard against Bush's second term as they did for him previously! And the price of oil, still soars!
When it comes right down to it: If we took the religion out of politics, we might stand a chance, as a country and nation of unity! PR :rastasmoke:

Well there's a transparent political move if I ever saw one. McCain is trying to attract Hillary Clinton's supporters, and not the Republican base. Oooh, I bet a few people here will be pretty pissed. This lack of enthusiasm among Republicans will only get worse now.
Boy you really have your fingers on the pulse of politics huh? Lot's of angry people huh? Drrr. drrr, drrr, drr.
I for one was not real enthused at all over voting for McCain, but like many others, this decision has really fired me up! But yeah, maybe in some far away corners, there are some angry Republicans, right!:stupid::yeahright:

IF you go to this website called, "GOOGLE.COM," they have this bar at the top, and if you type in something like, "Sarah Palin, Corruption, Alaska, ect...," you will get about a couple of indicators of just how "good buddies" they are. But maybe you know something no one else in the world does about her.
Fact is, she sounds like she is more of a "conservative" than McCain. The more I find out about her the more I think I would rather vote for her over McCain.:)

Ok I can't bite my tongue anymore, I've gotta chime in. First off she is an excellent pick for the McCain campaign. She may only have served as Alaska's Governor for about a year and a half but when you actually compare time spent in office to positive accomplishments, everyone should be amazed. She ousted an incumbent, a leader in ethics reform, reduced the size of AK government, I could go on and on. I personally can't wait for the debates, I think it will be interesting to see America's reaction to Biden vs Palin.
Second, for those of you grouping republicans and libertarians with christianity, I think this is an utter misconception, religion has no place in government.
Third, I believe that McCain had the election locked before Palin, with her on the ticket now I will predict a landslide victory in November.:stoned:
At the end of the day it all comes down to who you want in office, Obama a junior senator who speaks of change and then selects Biden an extreme liberal who is part of the so called "broken Washington" that Obama wants to change, or McCain an experienced senator who has always put his beliefs and our country first regardless of criticism even from members of his own political party who selected Palin a washington outsider who can bring the right kind of change?:stoned:

And why is it that most people in Alaska OVERWHELMINGLY SUPPORT IT despite the fact that it is "devastating the environment" apparently, even though the people that live their are probably more closely tied to that natural outdoor wilderness than any other people anywhere in the U.S.?

Both tickets seem fairly equal to me! Equally dumb! With good intentions!
Bill Clinton was Gov. of Ark and not re-elected. He then re-ran with a different platform for and of the people and won, over and over!!
Bush was Gov. of Tx then Pres.: Lost his butt in oil and didn't do very well in baseball or anything else he did. Well, until he got sober, I guess!
Reagan; Gov. of Ca a couple times and then Pres.
Makes them good politicians, that is all!

Yup, the pipeline is a hinderance to wildlife. There are fences and other obstacles that seperate the young from their parents. Hung in fence's, etc. Just off the top of my head. Nat'l Geog. did an article on it many years ago!
The entire pipeline is not above ground, high enough for a bear to walk on. Most likely they are walking on the heated parts that had to be re-done, when the oil wouldn't move through the icelands! That whole pipeline needs replaced!

I find it rather funny that "Obama Worshippers" question other's religious beliefs.:D
Anyone that supports that man should really appreciate and understand what it means to believe in something based on nothing more than "faith".

I am from Kansas, spent 27 years there.
I can't even imagine how many fence lines there are throughout that state. Yes, animals get hung up in them. Some predatory birds even hang dead animals on them for fun. (No shit, this is absolutely true).
Animals also get hit by cars.
I don't doubt for a second that these things happen everywhere, including in AK.
I do doubt that there has been any sort of ecological disaster there due to the pipeline.:wtf:

Not to forget, we hunt them for food, 'because there are too many' causing auto accidents, anyway deer! 2 Yrs ago, they, deer, were the # 1 reason in U.S.A. for auto accidents!
Lets not forget Exxon Valdiz, just got off the hook, with little more than a slap on the hand (oops, fingertip) this past year! How did that slip by her? That was such a disgrace. Look at the dead wildlife from that oil! I can't show a pix, surely you will 81K!
That pipeline could pop open. Read up on it. It was built for a temporary fix and it has outlasted its' initial proposed lifetime by more than a decade or so! She has to get out of AK before it is fucked up with all that oil!
She needed to get a new pipeline going, ASAP! I question anyone that would be Gov. of that state and not address getting a new pipeline!
The MT farmers are really pissed with what they are doing in MT for oil! I just don't know how that has not been used as a major example. Except, it is not a well populated State!
I would not vote for a female because she is female. Ferraro shattered the glass ceiling prior to her announcement today! Guess, it shows her inexperience as a politician! May be a real good thing!
I do believe this election is between VP's! I believe this will be a presidency that may well be finished by a VP! I thot I'd make up my mind when the announcement's came!

Kool Aid?? I am confused as to what derogatory insult you are wielding now. I doubt that anyone ever handed you that cup of electric kool aid. You might have then realized that in fact you may not be correct about everything.
I am going to do something now which more than a few people on this thread struggle with. Answer the ideas brought up opposing my position. Instead of your good ole boy "yeah you are so right...thanks pal...way to get those limp kool aid...blah blah.
So how can i support two different candidates for president? Easy. What i want to see is things shaken up more than ever before. I want my country to do a complete 180 on many long standing policies and laws. I want the US to embrace more pacifistic ideals. Ron Paul offered this. I believe in his politics. Unfortunately he cannot win this election. SO.... i am supporting the candidate i think will change the policies in our government. Barack does not have 30 years of experience like McCaine does. That is comforting to me. I am a realist and i know one president can only do so much. I am just hoping the ball gets turned and pointed in another direction.
THERE IS ONE FUNDAMENTAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU AND I. Deep down in my heart I don't give a shit who becomes president. I am not blinded by a party. If John McCaine became president I would watch closely as always and encourage and support a move in the directions i want to see this country move. If he were to act on some of his original beliefs i would be pleased. The problem with what i have seen is that he has adopted others policies since recieving the nomination. Time to pay the piper. The dirrence being you will bash Obama no matter what he would accomplish. Stubborn good ole boy...
As far as pipelines
Have you ever been to Yosemite? How about Moab? Many people including myself consider these places ruined. Roads turn wilderness into non wilderness. Is this not environmental degradation?
If you can stand to read someone that does not encourage you to believe what you already believe, check out Edward Abbey. Desert Solitaire is a good place to start. I dare you... but also caution you, its not all quantifiable. Which means it may not compute. Kool Aid helps with this.
Alaska pipeline spill amount debated - Environment - MSNBC.com
"Onshore development, like the offshore variety, results in heavy-duty industrialization of affected areas. Exploration activities degrade wildlife habitats and roadless areas, harm fragile soils and archeological resources, and encourage damaging offroad vehicle use. And extraction activities have displaced wildlife and fragmented and degraded their habitats. Wilderness values on millions of acres have been lost and local communities transformed through "boom and bust" economies."

You accuse me of questioning someones religious beliefs. Try again. Never. I did not realize that the belief that Gorillas evolution coming to a halt is a religious belief. Are you serious? Gorillas are evolving. This is fact. Sometimes too slowly apparently.
I was Kayaking in Prince William sound long after Exxon Valdez had released their official documents stating the spill was cleaned up completely. YEARS LATER. All one had to do was flip over two rocks, and under one was guaranteed to be oil. This was for miles. Its too bad nobody gave a shit... Go Team USA!!
Kush this is very poor logic. Because animals are currently being killed by human development it does not matter if things we do cause more to die. Not your most Brilliant:thumbsup:

the name game: Osama Nobama; Biden-Liedumb!
McLain; stalin fallum!
Exxon Valdiz: It is still bad there: It has only been mos. that they got off with a slap on the wrist! I'd like to hear how she let that happen! She was Gov. and seems to not have cared about one of the best spots in Alaska for trade if for no other reason! I still see all those dead birds, Kush, please post a pix for me, I know you have a heart! I am dumb with Pc (you'll say a lot of things I am sure) but I am trying to understand the logice, etc. And I do enjoy your posts.
Supreme Court! Roe vs Wade does effect you. If you were a young man using a condom and someone got pregnant. Would you want to support that kid the rest of your life! Abortion is going backward and ultimately, it does effect men! I know several women that got pregnant due to a hole in the condom or whatever. Abortion is a necessity in this country! It is a man's issue, not just women. Yet men do not seem concerned!
The Terrorist Act: If you have been threatened at the ripe age of 53 and told you were going to jail and harassed by a cop with the terrorist act all day long. You would want it to change. I am not for completely getting rid of it all. But, wiretapping a good citizen with no good reason! Sending me to jail, even though he couldn't and I knew it, but he was threatening me and his superiors did not care!
Alaskan Pipeline: Needs replaced and is not enough to move more oil through! It is being repaired 24/7 365! That and Exxon getting off the hook are things she needed to address as Gov.
Women will never have equal rights with women that think like her. I think McCain is better than she is! She holds all the "Good ole boys values!" Only diff. between her and Cheney is: Oil co. ties and her health (age)! More of the same!
You must admire a woman that gets pregnant after the age of 30! The risk of Down's Syndrome is checked due to that being a major possibility! At 40, almost a certainty--That again, is why they check, so you can abort prior to development of fetus--For abortion. If you have been with a family strapped with a Down's Syndrome baby, it is a very difficult thing! Good thing she is in politics, so taxpayers can take care of it in her home, instead of the home for them. It is taxing to a family to take care of and practically a full time job to a loving and present mother! That kid needs more and almost all of her time!
Anti-abortion: This is 2008, we can tell when an abortion is needed and when not. Would you keep a D.S. baby. Maybe, until it got so big you couldn't change the diapers anymore. It is physically taxing, and mentally. I do not admire that! This would be a pretty hard nose approach, but it could be used for organ donor, at best! Yet, I know people that say , their Down's Syndrome baby is the light of their life. I know an M.D. that tried to take care of his, until she got so big they just could not. Put her in a Gov't home and bingo; she was happier being with like people.
I did leave out, we never know how bad the D.S. is going to be and Christian's like her will pray it is mild and deliver. I can understand that! I do not have an answer for her, for me=abortion! Plus, I'd know better than to get pregnant at that age. These celebs doing it, a lot have fertility drugs and abort the bad ones and keep the good ones, as multiple births are a result of fert. drugs. She did it natural.
She will be a major set back to Equality for women. Watch the VP's pay go down if a woman gets it. Or, no raise in salary, if deserved.
She is popular in Alaska and Alaska has the most single and horniest men on the planet! Sure they like her! They all hunt, fish and enjoy the same shit she does. My 90 yr old aunt did until she was in her mid 70's too! But, she believed in abortion and women's rights.
WHAT IS HER EDUCATION?
Sure she is pretty, and this was a joke! I expect a very close race.
Obama has been campaigning for 2 years now and I am bored with the whole thing after all this.
Will wait for the VP debates and hope it makes me feel better, as I believe either VP has a good chance to be President! I am concerned for her health: I worry about some idiot shooting at her or nOsama! I neve want to see that in this country again.
Plus, I have not seen the presence of 'liking' her voice long enough to listen to a speech. But, that could change.
I am so confused! But, this is normal for some elections. Shit happens and you don't know what to do.
Fighting and picking at each other accomplishes nothing! We need more education!
Thanks for all the links and info, I am reading and very concerned of the future of this nation!
I am not sure I want Guantanamo, completely gone! But, definitely, people given some rights, not all! Be selective. They are suspected terrorists and need to be treated like it, until otherwise evicenced. But, once they get there, no one cares. People go there for no reason, except hanging with the wrong person; I've done that! Just to talk and view their perspective on things! An act of learning to make more educated opinions!
She is anti-women and a good submissive Christian! Seems like a real nice person, too!
But, this would continue to take our country backwards and take away more of our rights! I cannot believe in the past several years that abortion would even be an issue. I do know a guy that pays a few thousand dollars a month because he got loaded and his dad's caretaker did also! They then had a one night stand and boom! Hit with child support. He wanted divorce. It seems to me, that I do not even have the answer to that, but men need to think on it! What if everytime you had sex, it cost you a few thousand a month for 18 years!
She has not improved the state employees health care or improve any conditions for employees rights! Too busy setting herself up to get a wink for the White House.
How will she decorate the VP and if she gets it White House!
I do like that she dismissed the staff for the home quarters of her family and made them clean up after themselves and cook and all the things they normally do, regardless of Gov. Mansion or not! That is a good step in the right direction! If she drives her own vehcile, I'd like that also! By not allowing staff to cater to them in the family home (Gov.mansion): is there something to hide! Or real common sense?
I do admire that she has traveled more than Obama to support troops and Gov't business! First hand knowledge. Obama was too busy going to Africa. A good excuse to see family on taxpayers buck!
I see good and bad in both. I see, that no one will know how I will vote, until I see or read a very good reason.
So please, if you do not mind. Give me some links on the above accusations, I did not make up!
I loved the pic of the sea opening! WE need a little more humor here. Wher is dail and Illinill? Lets lighten this up and get some facts to convince the one that needs more facts. Please help me out! So, I do not have apathy! I want to vote. And I want rights, mmj nationwide, won't happen this round! But, I am an endless diehard optimist!!!
And if I had kush around, I would be on it 24/7 to make my mind open, even more!
I respect each and every opinion and you are all helping me. Thank you for that! PR :stoned:
Wish I had an answer and think I'll go fishing to ponder it! Deep sea, so when I hang over the side to puke, everyone will think it is seasickness!

I have not met one man that really wants a woman in any of those positions! Do men hate women, in general! Or just the ones that did not respect their mom's! I do not understand what gender has to do with it. If she were older and unable to reproduce-it should be considered equal! During reproducing age--maybe not a good idea, I do not know for sure!

Palin went straight from being a mayor of a town with 9000 people to being governor. Palin has been governor since 2007, Obama has been senator since 2005. The 143 days thing only counts the days the senate is in session. But during the off-time the senators do other stuff like diplomatic trips and drafting legislation, so saying those 143 days are the only time he's been working is incredibly unrealistic.
On an unrelated note, Wasilla, Alaska is right near the Matanuska Valley, home of the infamous Matanuska Thunderfuck. I know that now that I said that, someone will vote for her just for that, but I still thought it was interesting.

Can you list some Major legislation created by Obama? And what major diplomatic trips did he take prior to this election or the democratic primaries, why did he take these trips and what did he accomplish?

Supreme Court! Roe vs Wade does effect you. If you were a young man using a condom and someone got pregnant. Would you want to support that kid the rest of your life! Abortion is going backward and ultimately, it does effect men! I know several women that got pregnant due to a hole in the condom or whatever. Abortion is a necessity in this country! It is a man's issue, not just women. Yet men do not seem concerned!
Reversing this ruling would not make abortion illegal, it would revert back to the states to make their own laws. Possibly men would have more of an opinion on it if we had a say in the matter, but we don't. We don't have a choice.
She will be a major set back to Equality for women. Watch the VP's pay go down if a woman gets it. Or, no raise in salary, if deserved.
Some evidence to back up this opinion. Have womens wages gone down in Alaska?
She is popular in Alaska and Alaska has the most single and horniest men on the planet! Sure they like her! They all hunt, fish and enjoy the same shit she does. And so do a lot of us in the rest of the country also, and we vote.
WHAT IS HER EDUCATION? What is the messiahs? He will not release his school records.
Sure she is pretty, and this was a joke! I expect a very close race.
She is anti-women and a good submissive Christian! Seems like a real nice person, too!
Are you talking about Michelle?
But, this would continue to take our country backwards and take away more of our rights! I cannot believe in the past several years that abortion would even be an issue. I do know a guy that pays a few thousand dollars a month because he got loaded and his dad's caretaker did also! They then had a one night stand and boom! Hit with child support. He wanted divorce. It seems to me, that I do not even have the answer to that, but men need to think on it! What if everytime you had sex, it cost you a few thousand a month for 18 years!
What if every time you spread your legs you were responsible for the result of that "choice".
Why don't I get to choose which of my children I get to kill.
How will she decorate the VP and if she gets it White House!
Who gives a shit?

It was from his time in the state senate...he didn't work there either.

Bong I am not questioning anyones faith. You made a post that sounded as if ONLY gorillas are not evolving. I have repeatedly asked you to explain your belief.
I do not understand and have never heard of any reports or beliefs of Gorillas not evolving with the rest of the creatures. Enlighten me the heathen you claim me to believe. DON'T PRESUPPOSE YOU KNOW ABOUT MY FAITH SIMPLY BECAUSE I ASK YOU A QUESTION TO FURTHER EXPLAIN YOUR POST.
If i offended you, i apologize. In the last few days i can say nothing has been accomplished in these political forums, and so i do what is best for myself... goodbye and blessings

Wrong.
She has a very bad environmental record. She opposed a ballot initiative to prohibit metal processing companies from polluting rivers that support salmon. She supports drilling in ANWAR (which even McCain does not support) and offshore drilling (which McCain has recently flip-flopped to support). She denies global warming, even though her own state will be one of the first to suffer and is already losing whole villages as they sink into the mud when the permafrost thaws. She opposes listing polar bears as threatened.
She can easily be attacked on her environemntal record.
