That broken Cola is still holding on strong, I think it just might make it. These plants are so strong it's amazing the things they can come back from.
Pictures are going to be coming tomorrow. They are really starting to put on some mass now but are still showing mostly clear trichs.

Here are some long awaited pics.
First I'll be doing doing seperate posts in this thread for each of the ladies. Each girl will have about 3-5 pictures each.
Then I'll follow it up with the side by side comparison from the last picture date to this picture.

Lady Number 1:
This plant is very interesting. Originally it looked very indica dominant. This plant was also a scraggler. A runt if you will. IT's growth was always slow and never seemed to put on the length that the other plants did.
This plant has recently shown accelerated bud growth in the last 2-3 weeks (this is around the same time I transplanted. coincidence.. I think not!). Since that time the buds have gotten very very sticky despite the apparent absence of frosty/heavy trich formation.
I love the smell of this plant. It smells of Mango/starfruit and within the last week the plant has also taken on a candy/bubblegum flavor scent. So imagine a pink bubblegum that also smelled like mangos.
The buds are very very top heavy. If I shake the branch gently from lower to the main stem then it will continue to shake for about 15-25 seconds after my hand has been removed from the branch.

Lady #2:
This sexy Lady has been one of my favorites to watch grow. She has several long sexy cola, or legs as I like to call them, covered in buds from the top all the way to the main stem. Very heavy cola's with sticky leaves and buds although there is no heavy trich's forming.
She smells like a orange/lemon combination. Definitely a sweet citrus/acidic smell to it. I love lemons and I love oranges so let's hope that the smoke is similar to the smell.
All though there is no heavy trich formation the buds on this plant are very sticky. If I use 2 fingers to touch the plant and then touch my fingers together they will stick and give a good bit of resistance before they come apart again.
This plant is also the one that suffered the broken cola. It's been hanging on well considering but it doesn't seem to be healing. As I was moving it back from it's watering station (the bathtub) back to the flowering chamber the cola finally broke. It was again hanging on by a thread. I could foresee this being a problem and the point of the break was not looking so good brown/black... I was also concerned about it being a point of infection. I made the hard decision to go ahead and cut it for ease of maintenance and to protect the health of the rest of the plant. Sacrafice 1 smaller cola for the life of the plant.. don't even need to think twice about it.

Lady #3:
This plant is pretty much Lady #2's twin sister. They are very similar to each other with only very slight differences.
Lady #3 is also very tall and sexy. She has many legs/colas that are covered with buds from top all the way down to the main stem. Her buds are very sticky and smell like oranges, unlike Lady #2 which smells like a combination of orange/lemons.
Not much to cover here because she is so much alike to Lady #2.

Lady #4:
This one is a late bloomer. Took a very long time for this one to start taking off in bud and pistil formation. At one time I had seriously considering trashing her to make room for the other plants instead. I'm glad I decided to hold on. Despite the fact that she looks to be about 3 weeks behind the other plants I think it's going to be one of my bigger yielding plants.
Her main cola is very wide and densely covered with buds that have not began to plump up yet. this plant is still heavily producing calyxes and pistils. With very little to zero hairs turning red yet.
This plant has a scent very similar to any of the diesel strains. This plant is already sticky and has some visible trichs. I'm hoping this plant will put on the resin I couldn't get from the other plants. This is all because of the crap genetics. However it's amazing to see how much better the buds look/smell and feel compared to the original it came from (mexican shwag brick weed).
Picture 1: Overall shot of the plant.
Picture 2: Shot of the main cola. You can see the top part of my hand at the bottom of this picture. Should give you a decent reference for size of that cola.

Lady #5:
This is the original lady. She started 4-5 weeks before the other. She was my only survivor out of an initial set of 18 plants. Very strong and robust she made it through all of the horrible things I did that the other plants couldn't tolerate.
It's amazing the strength this plant has to bounce back. Had I taken care of her properly I have no doubt that she would have made some very fat buds.
Unfortunatley me and this plant have a love/hate relationship. She was very beautiful, lush and looked promising in vegetative state. However in flowering she's never really matched up to what I felt she should have looked like. Her buds form at a very slow rate. In addition to this her colas are very small in comparison to her sisters that started vegetative state 4 weeks before she did.
If I had to do it all over again I don't think I would have allowed for the plant to go into flowering with so many colas. Has in the neighborhood of 50 side shoots. Of which 30-40 are colas or trying to be. Give a second chance I would cut all the scrawny shoots and only would've have left the strongest looking 15-20. I would've given the plant a week and a half to recover and then I would've lollipopped the first 3-4" of the bottom of the remaining colas. Given it another week to heal and then put it into flowering. I think this would've given me better results. All in all I think the problem is that the plant has too many cola's for it's size. Dividing nutes between all these colas as well as all of them fighting for light through a tight/crowded canopy I feel has let to the lack of heavy weight production we see here.
This plant I think will still give me about 3 oz if I'm lucky. Originally I was anticipating around 5-7oz or so, but I've given up hope on this plant putting on any bulk. It has tons of tiny budlets that will never mature and it's too late for me to strip them without herming the plant. It's a shame too.. it smells orange/citrus like with a combination of diesel. Really unique scent.

ok with that said.. here are some shots of the broken cola. I took shots pre trim and post trim. The cola is now hanging in my closet to dry and will hopefully make it's way into a mason jar or canning jar in the next few days.

Thanks, that means alot coming from you and Shov considering your log and the grows I've seen him do.
Thanks guys I appreciate the comments. Hopefully I'll have a smoke report for you guys in the next week-week and a half if I'm lucky.

ok.. well I went ahead and decided to vape a raw nug.
I am so high.. definitely not low. LOL
This bud is definitely not mature but it will be a nice smoke. I'm sure this mostly has to do with the fact that I use a vaporizer but there wasn't any harshness to it at all; it was very smooth actually. It just tasted slightly like plant.
Of interesting note there was a background flavor of something fruity. Which is interesting because this came off one of the citrus smelling plants. This flavor is more like berry, grape.. really fruity, not citrus though. It's not strong but I'm hoping that the flavor will come out more during the drying/curing process.
The high is a real clear headed high. This is probably due to mostly the clear trichs. I find that I like this high. I am very productive this way and I can still enjoy the high. However I definitely feel I would enjoy it more if the trichs had been all cloudy with 10-20% amber. The trichs were all clear with some cloudy and like 1-2 amber trichs on the entire bud that was used..
If anyone else has anything else they would like to know about the smoke let me know. I'm really friggin high right now.. lol I think i'm going to go watch harold and kumar and just laugh my ass off now :).

ok.. so I'm pretty much back to normal now. 3 hours of being stoned from smoking what would've been probably .25 grams of weed dried. I was definitely pretty lit.
I'm going to give it another go here in about 1-2 weeks and see what it smokes like when it's dry.

you know.. Sunday will be day 64-65 into flower. Trich's are still all clear. I'd like to begin flushing but they don't look anywhere near being done :(.
I'll never grow shwag bag seed again. Only known good genetics for me. I don't like not having a rough estimate on how long it takes this plant to complete a flowering cycle...
blah!!!!
-
Flowering log / Picture log
oh and if anyone's interested.. that broken cola only came out to 4 grams when dried out. It doesn't even really look like bud. I bet it probably could've been 8-12g if it had made it all the way to harvest :(

So are we going to get a compare and contrast on the taste/effect of the early harvested cola versus the fully matured?
Just awesome looking plants!

I'm letting it go through the full curing process. However this plant will probably taste or smoke like the final product. All the trichs are still clear and I will not harvest until the trichs are mostly cloudy with 10-20% amber.
Smoke report on the way in the next week or two. :)

Plants are looking great. I think my big monster plant (plant #5) will be ready for harvest in the next 2-3 weeks. It's finally putting on a *little* weight.
Trichs are about 50/50 or maybe 60/40 Cloudy/clear.
I'll be giving the plant about 1 more decent feeding and then I'll let it dry out really well over the course of a week before I begin flushing it once every 3 days over the course of two weeks following the 'dry out'.
I'll stop watering about 4-5 days prior to putting the plant in the dark. It'll stay in the dark for 3 days until I finally cut it.
I gave the large plant a pretty decent pruning. Most of the leaves on it were pretty damaged and were not working efficiently anymore. This opened up lots of the undergrowth where there were just 1 -2 pistils forming. Now that the plant seems to be plumping up I've exchanged some food stores (leaves) in order to get a decent amount of light down to these little budlet sites so they don't go to complete waste.
These little popcorn budlets will turn into butter or green dragon or something similar.
Here are a few trich shots from today. Not as impressive as other grows but considering this is mexican brick shwag I think they look fantastic. I took something disgustingly ugly and turned it into something cute. I can't quite say sexy... that's reserved for Jerry Garcia's grows (JG).. lol
These are all shots of different buds on Plant #5/Monster plant.
I'll be taking individual shots like last time of all the plants next week. Look forward to it
BLAH.. for some reason pics aren't uploading on my laptop/air card. I have a friend on my main computer right now. Have to wait for them to get off so I can upload some pics from there.
Stupid sprint air cards acting up.

I actually took these shots from the bottom of the canopy. The buds at the top of the canopy are hard to see the resin/trichs on because of all of the white pistils. Once the pistils start to die/dry the top buds will look very crystally. I'm satisfied with this mexi brick weed grow so far. Looking very respectable for what it is/was.

Outstanding, Daihashi! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
If that is from the bottom, I can't wait to see the top.

Here are some more pics of the bottom of the canopy on plant #5. The tops look no where near done but the bottoms are ripening quite nicely. Just hope they don't out mature the tops.

So I decided to just do a half cure on that bud that was in the mason jar.
When it was all said and done it weighed out to 4grams dried. Things I've learned about curing and drying....
- Wait till the bud dries and the stem snaps in multiple places. If it only snaps in 1 place on the stem you need to wait longer.
- The plant will smell like plant for a good long while.
- The plant will especially smell like plant if when you put the buds into the jar you don't snip it away from the stem. Take this extra step, I bet it really helps with flavor/aroma/further drying time when you do this prior to placing it in the jar.
- A bud harvested about 4 weeks before it's due is not really worth harvesting at all (unless like in a situation like mine where the cola just snapped off). My buds were super airy once they dried out. So much so that you could kind of pick up a bud and see between the calyxes/pistils and tiny bud leaves.
- Raw nugs smoke nothing like a dried nug and nothing at all like a half cured nug. Don't vape or smoke any raw nugs, just wait it out for 1-2 weeks and have it cured slightly. You will appreciate your grow so much more if you do.
With that said. Smoke report in about an hour. I'm vaping up right now and so far so good. Loaded about .5 grams into the volcano.

so plant #5 is about ready to start getting flushed. Nearly all the trichs are cloudy.
Tomorrow plant #5 will be getting 1 more light feeding and then I'll start flushing with 15-20 gallons of water once every 3-4 days for the remaining week and a half to 2 weeks.
Tomorrow I'll have full profile pictures like last time for each of the 5 ladies.
I'll also try to get some comparison pics since it's been about 2 weeks.
hopefully in a month I'll be able to give an initial smoke report on this matured plant. I'm really glad to be able to get this plant out of the way. it took up way too much room and it's cola's never did put on the mass I wanted. It's a relief to be able to utilize that light on my other plants soon.

Lady #1:
This girl smells so savory. I honestly get hungry and start salivating slightly when I pick her up and her aroma fills the air. I can't wait to smoke her up.
Pic 1: This is an overhead view of the plant. Notice how the tops are drooping over. Even with support these colas are bending to the weight of the top buds. Very fruity/candy like scent.
Pic 2: size of cola in my hand wrapped around it snuggly to give an idea of how big the cola tops are. After I took this shot I found a cola that was probably about an inch bigger around. :D
Pic 3:Bud close up shot. You can see here that it hasn't started swelling yet and still probably abotu 4 weeks out from harvest.

Pic 1: Overall shot of the plant. There are some red/amber hairs but most of them are still white an the plant hasn't started swelling yet from what I can tell. It seems to be behind it's sister (Lady #2) and it's buds aren't nearly as dense like Lady #2. Lady #2 feels like a rock when you give her a gentle squeeze. This plant is *slightly* fluffier.
Pic 2: Shot of one of the main colas
Pic 3: Hand wrapped around the cola top to give idea of size. I removed that hair from the buds when I saw/felt it.

To be honest she's not my favorite lady but she's turning into my pride and joy. She has so much bud on her it's unreal. This plant was a real scraggler growing up and even throughout most of flowering. It's within the last 3 weeks that she really started blossoming and getting some serious mass.. Even with both my hands I can barely wrap my hands around her main cola.
Pic 1: Overall shot of the plant. You can tell she's going to be a pretty decent yielder. I'm stoked
Pic 2: Closer shot showing top of the canopy. No way I could get the main cola in on this shot. It's way too tall.
Pic 3: 1 hand wrapped around the cola. Not even at the thickest part (although it is pretty thick in that area, if I go up just a bit it get's at least 1-2 inches thicker). You can kind of see where my thumb ends up and see where my fingers are. I'm grabbing this cola very firmly. IT's fat in deed!!! I can't wait for this baby to start swelling up. I'd say she's about 5 weeks behind her sisters. I'm not sure why though.
Pic 4: This is a shot of the backside of the plant/backside of the main cola. Amazing :stoned:

Lady #5:
The original. The beast that ended up being anything but beastly. She's about 2 weeks out from harvest and flushed her with 10 gallons of water today. I will flush her again in about 3 days with 15 gallons of water, and then again in 3 more days with 20-23 gallons of water.. and then another final flush of 30-35 gallons of water.
Really get the chlorophyll broken down.. wash out the salts/ferts all in hopes of aiding the curing process.
Pic 1: Overall shot of the plant
Pic 2: Shot showing the top of the main cola and how far down it goes with continuous buds. It may be skinny but I bet the fact that it has buds all the way down to the main stem will help compensate for the yield. I'm not sure about quality though.
Pic 3: This plant doesn't have much cola girth, so instead I took a tape measure to show how tall that cola is with buds. It was kind of hard to hold the tape and cola while trying to steady my camera in the other hand. Didn't help that I just smoked some killer herb. heh
Pic 4: Macro shot. Not as good as any of my other plants but better than what I've been buying/getting.
Pic 5: Another macro

update:
I pruned the hell out of plant #5. I decided to just go ahead and harvest it in 1 week instead of 2. I did a heavy pruning of the popcorn budlets and the plant finally looks like how it probably should've looked all this time.
I put all the budlets in a trash bag and filled it about 1/3 of the way (13 gallon bag.) here are some pics of plant #5 now.
I'm not too concerned about herming. I'm going to keep a close eye on her to make sure to get it out incase it herms. Actually a more accurate term would be I would gently remove it from the grow area and then just chop it.
I am unimpressed with this plant and I'd rather have the room for my other plants to put on more resin/more weight. The big plants sits right in the center of the room hogging up all the good light.
I've been thinking about chopping this plant for the last 4-5 weeks. My only regret is that I didn't chop it back then instead.
Pic 1: Plant after heavy pruning. Doesn't she look pretty now?
Pic 2: Same as above
Pic 3: Overall shot of the budlet "trash".. the small cola over to the right is pretty decent. Small nugs but really crystally. I'm saving that one to dry/cure. I didn't mean to cut it but might as well go ahead and smoke it if possible.
Pic 4: Close up of budlet trash
Pic 5: My hand in the picture to give a reference of mass/amount of the budlets I cut off the plant.
