Hugely Informative.
that explains MUCH:thumbsup:

Also Rock.....topping one bud isn't supercropping but lets say you went and topped all the TOPS before you turned them and ended up with about 20 budsites or something...THAT i'd call supercropping.
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!:S2:Quote:

gotcha on the supercroppin.
well, i clipped the clones twice, but they split funny, well, cause they were clones, not perfectly symetrical anyways.
the comrades i figure twice also, depending how they respond.
Zandors infor on recovery time and figuring that into the grow cycle is an eye opener.
here's something else to consider,
i also pruned Betty often, like to open up below for better light.
this may be another reason she took so long.
also as youve said previously, the possiblitiy that a sativa or strong sativa mix may be more sensitive to everything u do.
these and betty all being the same thai, its possible that she just doesnt like being fussed over:wtf:
we'll see what happens next.
I love the new avatar weedhound ^^.
oh, hey, lets bring up an old, yet related topic.
the selfing.:wtf:
i been givin it some thought while watching them develop.
and remember, i Reversed em.
here's my thought.
I cannot see doing that to one of these, itll get to both, and ill be littered w beans. i dont really want that.:(
what if i clone the stronger of the 2 and re-veg?
i'd be willing to dedicate that one to selfing.
or, does going "clone, of a clone", degrade the strain.
it almost sounds immoral:wtf:
i think we may need ur pal Rhiz the botanical wizard:smokin:
Ive just never grown sativas Rock and cant say but I thought reaper said something along the same line as well....that the sativas seem much more sensitive to stress and then Rhizome seemed to think that the lighting was holding Betty back too. I would have thought 900 light bulbs would have done it no matter WHAT kind they were. :D
Thanks Gundari. ;)
Yep....we need Rhiz. And speaking of Reverse....seen any more balls on them?Quote:

That makes me wonder if they would just pop out sterile balls anyway and then things would REALLY be ruined.
u r a WIZEASSQuote:

Speak up sonny or i'll pop you with my cane!! :D
yes, agreed on the weird balls, opened up to what looked like a bunch of micro sized bananas, and they just fell away, but i mashed em.
was same way on don too, come to think of it.
weird:wtf:
or, maybe thats what they look like when they are premature?:wtf:
and, no, i gave em the second dose of Reverse and have not seen one since.
that stuff works! thanks!
also, it was for sure a light leakage issue and thats solved.
now i have made many of the mistakes. should b smoother sailin
Damn I FORGOT About the the light leak....no WONDER those things were hermie-ing. That ALONE would have done it.
I also didnt consider that the balls might just be premature either. :wtf:
thats funny chit.Quote:

specs on the lighting as it stands today.
and had for a bit, and may just stay this way for now.
i got 12 x 100/26w cfls (softs)
2 above each
2 behind each
2 in front each
im pullin about 312 actual watts in lights, 12 hrs a day.
lumens, 1750 each.
total 21,000 lumens
space, approx 32 inches wide x 24 inches deep.
pots are 12 inches tall
http://gallery.cannabis.com/data/500.../P10100702.JPG
the specs on my 250 hps are 250w 3 amp
25,000-30,000 lumens.
It makes one HELL of an x-mas decoration doesn't it? I got your message Rock and will do. ;)
My god...we've babbled all the way to page five. Gnight John Boy.
Oh em gee! Nice log, Rock. I want some Thai so bad. Can't wait 'till you harvest and do a smoke report :). Cheerz
hmm, actually i o a smoke report on Betty, but I dont know if I should revive the post.
i'll just post here till someone asks.
fact is, it was not nearly as potent as i hoped, or thought.
it wore off fast.
upon closer exam, i dont think enuf trichs went cloudy.
i prolly shoulda left it another week or 2, but couldnt take the waiting any longer.
i personally blew thru about 20 g's in about 10 days.
thats just too fast.
plus, my friends also said it wore off quick.
thats enuf proof 4 me.
from now on, ill wait til im completely positive they r ready.
with that said, i think somewhere around jan or feb, i should have a good report ready on these and the russians.
Rock that's happened to me also when I've picked things too soon.....nice burst but no real substance. I think you are right when you say you harvested too early although I really can't imagine being that impatient. :S2:
ok, I'm bringing this back up, but with some more details on my proposition. did some research and thinkin:wtf:Quote:

i would take from that one.
if it wont degrade the results, my thought is, choose a lollipop flower with long stick that still has the intermediate leaves at base of flower.
prune the flower off, let it heal, on plant, about a week.
then clip it,
hormone dip it.
root it.
reveg the new clone of clone.
go to flower with the expressed intent of selfing.
let it flower til it starts dropping the beans.
Then ill have fresh beans of this 16 year old thai while maintaining the strain....kinda:wtf:
Hy Rock....where can i find some new pics. of those Blue Russian nieces??? Long time not seen those lil Blue babys...how are they???
hey zeb, sup?
yeah, i need to snap a few tomoro
gotta clip em too:wtf:
i think its like the 4th week.
but i popped em right in the bigguns, so, they can get comfy.
i figure ill slow em down a lil and get some splits and maybe train them too. i left room to top off the soil after strappin em down:angelsmiley:
when they move to flower, ill give em a log.
i guess a few guest appearances here first cant hurt:D
yes if you have time and don't need those bud's so quickly it is a good idea....
i was thinking how short most indoor growers keep they plants in the veg.cycle...
outdoors the plants are like 3-4 months in the veg.cycle...for me as a mostly outdoor grower it is a bit strange to keep the plants for 1 or max.2 months in the veg.cycle...
Hey Rock....read update on my log when possible...clone talk. Rhizome tells me "it can be done....but it will be CHALLENGING"
ok hon, did read ur post.Quote:

i think im gonna go for it tomoro morning.
1st step, prune the flower, just like Morticia in the Adams family:eek:
I will leave all smaller leaves, cause she will need em to draw the light during re-root.
give her a week to heal the pruning, then clone her out.
hey, have a lil faith in yourself! I saw your post.
Do you think I have any experience in cloning???:wtf:
and I have 2 Thai bushes now!
its a weeeeeeed;)
hehehe, let the Thai-Beaning Begin!
16 years she been waitin in storage.
I'll lead a campaign to re-establish Thai-High-Supremacy:D
Ps....still waiting on info as to whether continous cloning weakens the clone.
Edit: just spoke to my hydro guy.....hardest time to clone but can be done. Probably a month before it will start to grow roots. Success rate will be lower....but not impossible. Clones DO get weaker over continous cloning but he says it would be like the 100th generation of clones.....you'd have to clone the same thing for YEARS before you start seeing those kind of problems.
lol...the beaning. :D
as requested.
in a recurring cameo role.
the comrades. (G,H,I) (blue russian)
4th week.
clipped right after these shots.
for names im thinkin Gina, Heidi, Ivana:D
Irina...Valeria. (did you ever see Gorky Park?) They look terrific Rock.....I'm beaming from the sidelines. Hey I'm leaning towards revegging my plant and taking clones.....have you thought about that for Ping or Pong perhaps?
Tanya......they really do look happy as hell. Good work. ;)
they came from a loving family
nope, not whole plant, gonna do just like i have proposed,
and i like the info that came out on your thread.
but, im gonna do, just 1, just like i said, u'll see, this might be fun.;):D
and if its sucessful, an old strain of thai will be brought back into the great circle.
I spoke to a couple of people over at IC Mag who have successfully cloned their plants 5-6 weeks into flowering but even those folks hemmed and hawed at the thought of cloning a FINISHED plant so I decided to go for the best odds and reveg (we're talking about me here......remember soil????)
I'd love to have a few lovely Dutch thai seeds to try if you can make it work and if I can get this plant to reveg I'll be trying out cloning as well. :)
ok, the experiment has begun.
see the new link in my sig.
week 7 cloning, I tried 2 volunteers.
and, who knows, if that doesnt work, maybe i will try to reveg after harvest?:wtf:
Looks to me like you have a good start....week 7 for a sativa like that is probably like week 2 for a NORMAL plant....:D
ok, update with pix
week 8.1
