Does that apply to Colleges in the States?
Belgium helped a lot in stopping WWI
Farmers opened the drains and flooded the battlefields surrounding Ypres, so drowning the Germans.
Just couldn't let this unsaid :D
Btw, a world war is called that way for a reason.
I don't remember who it was that said it, but stopping the Cold War isn't really a pro-America point, I mean, they started that shit, they sure didn't stop it on their own, out of own initiative.
And on a personal note, I prefer GB, it's closer to home, and their culture (humor, literature) is more fascinating to me than America's.
You don't have to have my opinion.

president is executive chief of staff or something like that..we arent responsible for letting him do anything, because he would have done it anyways..he did do it anyways. presidents have the authority to override anything they want. we cant stop em.Quote:

America? Culture?
...We have frozen yogurt, does that count?
We have seen pictures of culture, but we barely have civilization in some areas. The best we can claim is a few traditions and establishments.
Give us a couple more centuries.
American Culture...

Not yet. That's my main choice coz i wanna live in that city.
There are great coffeeshops in Leiden and Nijmegen too.
i think you need to cite your sources there because there are plenty of ways to get a free education, and if the majority is not taking advantage of that, then thats just them showing their lack of drive. either that or they make enough money to where they dont need funds given to them for college.Quote:

voting is the main thing that we can do. like i said presidents have the authority to basically do what they want. i dont see how we dont hold them accountable for their actions. if you look at the polls, youll see that after the invasion of iraq the presidents popularity or whatever they call it dropped at an exceedingly profound rate. who knows why he was reelected. i sure as hell dont..i might have a few ideas but nothing set in stone to where i can surely give a reason why. and i dont think anyone can give a set 'for sure' reason why because america is a fat lazy country. those who care do all they can to make a difference, but sadly the majority of the country are too apathetic to do anything. it isnt our fault as a whole because everything is split. no one will ever see eye to eye.Quote:

thats america, land of the free where freedom of choice means coke or pepsi.
American college costs are astrinomical. Are you suggesting more people get a free education then not?Quote:

come to america and apply for the bogw, the fafsa, and apply for grants, and then debate it.
those who work and go to school full time can only do so much. im not superman nor can i defy the laws of the space time continuum, so i cant work, go to school, and meet with my congressman. my schedule is too packed.Quote:

Yeah we should. I said at the start, we stick together as one and we'll be the biggest and the best. No one will dare fuck us around, and everyone can live happily ever after, once our governments pull their fists outta thier arse holes and legalise our plant, we'll be living the HIGH life.
Now, where's the wine? I feel like getting pissed tonight.
i know englands army isn't very big....:)
big enough to beat the shit outta us a few times though
:(
Didnt we like blow up Japan once? watch yourself "mates". Haha jokin. Lets all just blaze. Do any of you from England like The Streets?
This is about relations between stoners from the 2 countries..nnot whose fucking Army can blow up each other. Who gives a fuck? I was in the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps Infantry...been to French Commando School (trained by french foreign legion) Air Assault school, pathfinder school..Expert Infantry Badge..25 countries and many campaign ribbons from small skirmishes in the world..hell, I was even in the streets in LA after the rodney king verdict helping restore order I have been trained in everything combat you can think of and I could give a flying fuck who is the toughest because war and fighting between countries is stupid and a true showing of our countries ability to communicate with others..which is piss poor at best.
sorry for my rant..
Psshhhh, I'd mess with him.... if i was drunk. not stoned tho, I'd be too paranoid :P
dont they got that virus the "rage virus" havent you seen 28 weeks later..
Eh.
America's god is the almighty dollar. Even incarcerating people is a means of revenue either directly or through free labor. That's how I feel about it, at any rate.
As far as military might and whatnot. We flex it a lot more than we should. When I went to Bosnia, they pretty much told me the reason for a war every 10 or so years was population control, as well. A lot of Americans have no faith in the virtues of the people running the country, but, when push comes to shove, they aren't the ones pointing the guns. I resigned my commission after Bosnia. An epic affair at that. I didn't do things right when I left the base and I was escorted back by two very disgruntled men from one side of the country to the other. Our training, even as infantry, isn't point and click as you seem to think, though. Our infantry is very stamina oriented, and that's not even the best of it. I wanted to get into the Rangers after running into them during HALO jumps. Lasted 3 days, after completing AI training, even. But, honestly, in the event that we would actually find out who would win the "who has a better army" contest, well, that would pretty much signify the end of all things if it got to that point. So, lets keep that a little internet contest. Lord knows you'd be celebrating your victory somewhere huddling for warmth in a cave after a few well placed high yeild explosives, if you were better, anyway. The only reason to attack england would beA) them striking first or B) us needing more land, in which case the world would have either A) pissed us off enough to not care about what we blow up or B) turned to complete shit that we'd actually stoop to that. There's really nothing in the way of resource to collect or anything. We'd pretty much lose human resources and gain nothing in the end. That's strategically retarded.
Economically, even, the economy is shifting eastward and britain has been impotent for years. We're both fucked there, too. We're busy making our money from our own citizens for efforts that further grease the wheel of out-sourcing and I'm surprised your island still has trees : P
When I go to Europe, it feels a lot the same as it would sitting here. I mean, the whole relaxed laws thing is snarky and all, but, I wouldn't exactly go testing the theory with an American accent. I love the architecture and pubs. I hit a bad joint once, though. Some guy blaming me for all the problems in the world but eventually it boiled down to me being a good enough sport about with lines like "yeah, i did [what he just said] and now I'm here for your beer to top it off. got a smoke?" eventually the guy gave up on trying to piss me off and bought me enough shots to test my my mettle and see if I couldn't get pissed yet. And, in England, I don't feel as if I could have my head blown off at any minute like I do walking in a new york alley at 2am.
Also a lot more culture to delve into or explore, being that its an ancient society that still stands. America had its own natives but we had a habit of killing them off and burning what wasn't pretty and/or shiney.
I like Russia more than either, though. Something about it when I go there just makes me happy. Feels like there's actual wilderness there. Now that is some old history book shit right there. A lot harder to navigate due to language and a lot more funny looks and ostracism since I'm not quick enough with russian to really grasp a full speed conversation. My grand plan is to become a resident there, someday, though. I just want to live unknown in the woods with a pretty lady and raise my own food. This society nonsense has been great for the last 30 or so years, but, I'm damn shocked I'm still alived or able to move without a wheelchair at any rate. And, since the advent of the internet, the greatest minds that could have been something focus their goals on convincing other people they are right on forums and our scientists shift to making better computers and forgetting about simple things like... I dunno... flying cars.
Eh, reminds me of a rocky movie that never was, anyway. I see some fancy lad with a monicle, tophat and a little cigar talking at a press conference to some beef-fed steriod machine who can barely open his muscle bound mouth to contradict his seemingly witty banterings (the only reason I find british funny when they try to be is because they cleverly elaborate and accent their jokes with excess words while an america will typically deliver the same style of joke in a less elaborate sense, ruining the depth somewhat).
Eh, America, though. Kinda dumb now that its on the internet all day. But, I can carry a gun so it all pans out.
Lol yes, yes i was. I ended up passing out because i was too high. You're rite, i don't know what the bogw or fafsa is. My point was that more people have to pay a lot of money to go to college then those that get scholarships and or grants. They are not easy to get, there is intense competition across the country. It may not have been hard for you but it's not simply a lack of effort that stops people going to college. A person's financial status definately plays a significant role in my opinion. Anyway, it doesn't matter. I like both countries, i just could never live in America again until they erase their mentality against cannabis, lower college education funds and health care costs. It's all about the benjamins in the U$Quote:

At the end of the day, you are your own person. Countries and flags are worthless in the bigger picture of reality. Cultures, laws and economic strength do not dictate who you are as a person, and i'm damn well happy to have a respectful debate and smoke a joint with anyone that doesn't try to prove penis size by talking about some nationalistic bullshit that doesn't involve them in the slightest. Anyone else can fuck right off and watch Black Hawk Down with their hand down their pants for all I care...
