its credible but only to a very short extent.
its open source and editable by almost anyone.
i could go there and put in an article and make up something no one has heard of. then someone could take that as fact and go use it on their homework, become a doctor, and try something that is totally bogus..hypothetically if they even got that far.

Exactly.
Most teachers will not accept it. As far as I have found out.

thats something thats pretty easy to define and research though. its like, it would be hard to fool someone and define ice cream as pizza. you cant define it as anything else otherwise its too easily shot down...if that makes sense.
but some things you look into on that site, youll get complete falsifications.

Lol, i'm sure it made sense to you, not me. Anyway, i think it's a good source for philosophy, so i'll continue to use it =]
In my opinion it's pretty much good for finding out anything.

what i mean is that if someone tried to take utilitarianism and define it as something it was not, it would be impossible to because there is an easily distinguished definition for it. you cant say that an apple is an orange, because we all know that that isnt true. but you can say that an apple is the same color as an orange, and that is simply pure falsification and not true, but if youre colorblind how do you know?
i dunno i know someone gets what im tryin to say.

Yes, so what you're saying is wikipedia gives a clear definition of things so people can't simply make them up? It's an externat referance of truth?
But i think you're saying there's things on there that are false, I haven't really seen that so i can't comment.

ive seen accounts of bands breaking up and people dying on there that were total rumors. they even put little disclaimers up that say "this topic can be debated" because its not even been proven yet.
this is due to the fact that people are inputting bogus info on there regularily. i think they used the terminology "internet vandalism"

That may be so but isn't the false easily distinguishable from the true?
