XXX Straight-Edge

I know a few edge people I'm close with..for the teenage communtity its just a fad..like pokemon cards 4 years ago..and the no sex one means no sleeping around..if you're in a serious relationship you don't have to not have sex. It'll all fade away eventually.

They've been around for a long time. I always used to get a kick out of them in highschool... It was like, "shit, you mean I get drugs, AND better music? No wonder so many of you are into cutting yourselves."

straight edge by definition is hypocritical. EVERYTHING in the world affects your brain, so anything could be considered a drug.
if your happy your on a drug that your body produces!
even pure oxygen is a drug.

i remember hearing it but thats just what we would call those who never went to any parties or nothin.

you can find hypocrasy wherever you look. They just buy into the notion that a clear mind is the best way to be at all times, whereas most of us believe that getting high makes life easier. Whatever floats your boat is cool with me, and although I think that shit is pretty stupid, and I would never be involved in it (drugs or not)

I know some sXe people, most of them are pretty cool, they just don't do the shit others do, but we can hang out together, they're not that preachy.
I just see it as a decision they made for themselves, as long as they don't start bitching around against drugs and all, I can cope with them..

I agree, experimenting is what makes life fun and worth living. I don't care if people are clean, good for them, but it's when they go around advertising it is when it gets annoying as hell. Or like when you're talking to you're friend about buying a dime and some random emo kid comes up to you and says "you shouldn't do drugs. They're bad for you."
