I'd choose sober, too, but in the old-fashioned meaning of the word. Right now, I'm sober AND staight, and have been so for a while - despite the impression that I may give sometimes.
I think that the usage of sober might have become blurred in the 1980's with the rising rate of cross-addictions, twelve-step programs, and phrases like, "clean and sober". What does being "clean" have to do with drugs and alcohol, anyway? There are plenty of well-scrubbed drunks and junkies. I'd think that being sober is good enough, and one should worry about hygiene after that is accomplished. :p
sober
All the time? You know, I'm not really too sure.
I think I am already heading that way seeing as i am pretty much high all the time anyway
man why such waffle? think of sober as NOT bieng under the influence of recreational drugs, in this case cannabis since this is a cannabis forum. Did it not cross your mind that your body is cleaner without recreational drugs? hence the term "clean"Quote:

If that is what it means to be "clean and sober", it's redundant. The phrase "clean" also throws a negative light on using any substance, i.e. being high is "dirty", or criminal-like. I believe that this phrase was started by AA type groups when people that used substances in addition to alcohol started participating in the meetings.Quote:

I just don't like the association of marijuana, when used alone, with addictive, dangerous substances.
I think you smoke too much.Quote:
