I don't know TFK, have you heard Dark Tranquillity's stuff? DT started in 1989 and basically invented the gothenburg style, then a whole bunch of crappy generic-sounding bands like Soilwork took over the genre and basically ruined it. Dark Tranquillity, in my humble opinion, is one of the most created and skilled bands I've ever heard, I wouldn't let the newer bands ruin it for you. Some good excellent songs include:Quote:

lol, yeah man I've heard/seen a bit of Anal Cunt. Personally I hate that kind of metal, it seems trashy and brainless like G.G. Allen. If you know who G.G. Allen is, you're most likely sleeping better at night knowing he's dead now lol.Quote:

But personally, when I listen to Black/Death metal I want creative exploration of our darker sides, not a gross-out competition.
And I just wanna say, no offense intended to anybody here but.... People these days are getting WAY too critical about what qualifies for their genre of metal. Bands, sometimes for better and sometimes for worse, need to explore different approaches to music in as many ways as possible to really see where we can take music. Where one person hears something annoying, another hears the same and it tickles their brain in just the right way that nothing else can.
naw i cant listen to death metal/ grindcore when i am high
its like
im mellow
and the music is like ROAR AROIAJROIAR OAIEJIJ

They have a new CD coming out either summer or spring.
yeah I wouldn't consider the bands you first stated "Death Metal"
but if thats what you want to call it...
Nile are awsome!
Deicide are awsome!
