I'm 45. My next milestone'll be half a century. But I like the way I'm aging and I'm healthy and happy, so it's all good. I worried a lot more about aging when I was in my 20s and 30s than I do now.

I remember my 30th birthday. Some friends had a surprise party for me that wasn't a surprise, and it got fairly wild because some of us ended up in the hot tub without clothes at the end of that night. (I won't mention any names. Margaritas were involved.) Seems like I was hungover until the next birthday. Sky-diving would have been a better idea except that I'd have died of a heart attack the minute I stepped out of the plane.

They say your 30s are the best years. Your body is still relatively young and you have enough life experience to be wiser and slightly less reckless than when you were in your 20s.

Personally, I'm inclined to agree.

I can tell ya that I've been stoned every day since my 30th year on the planet and that'd be 24 years ago. Man time flies when you're havin a good time.
