GREAT SPIRT... WE MISSED YOU
I gave you the Etamology i know you like that stuff BG.
I had to look it up too....Ole Torog is a smart one.
The word dhimmitude is a neologism, imported from the French language, and derived from the Arabic language word dhimmi. The term has at least two distinct but related meanings describing a certain position of a non-Muslim in relation to the Islamic world — notably it is a characterization of non-Muslims as submitting to Muslim authority or intimidation. Bernard Lewis, Professor Emeritus of Near Eastern Studies at Princeton University, states that the story of "dhimmitude", of subservience and persecution and ill treatment is one of the two well-established myths available in the literature about the position of Jews in the Islamic world and that, like many myths, it contains significant elements of truth. [1]
Today the term dhimmitude is often used to allude to the conduct of non-muslims who submit to the terms of the dhimmi by ceding their own or their subject's individual rights such as free speech to placate Islamic pressure groups.

Etymology
Dhimmi (also zimmi, Arabic ذمي, often translated as "protected") is the legal status of a free non-Muslim subject of a state governed in accordance with sharia — Islamic law. The word dhimmi is an adjective (but used like a noun in English). It is derived from the noun dhimma, which means "pact of liability", and denotes the legal relationship between non-Muslim subjects and the Islamic state. "Dhimmitude" adds the productive suffix "-tude" to the adjective dhimmi, thus creating a new noun with a meaning (arguably) distinct from dhimma.
The term entered English-language use after the 1996 publication of the book "The Decline of Eastern Christianity under Islam. From Jihad to Dhimmitude. Seventh-Twentieth Century"[2] and the 2003 followup "Islam and Dhimmitude: Where Civilizations Collide"[3] by Bat Ye'or. She is widely thought to have invented the word[4], though some [5] think she borrowed it from the assassinated Lebanese Maronite leader Bashir Gemayel.

Torog, what's dhimmitude? I don't know that word.
Howdy birdgirl,
That's great news that y'all got one,not only do they protect you from surges and allow ya time to close out yer programs, but they also filter out electronic noise, which is harmful to motherboards and stuff like that. :)
Dhimmitude,is the arab word for slavery(subjugation),for those who refuse to convert to Islam, they have the option,if their lucky,to pay a tax, called the jizya,so that they won't be slaughtered and they will be suffered to live, but as social outcasts and up to slavery. You should look it up,on Google or Wikipedia,heck..maybe I should too, just to be sure of what it is that I'm saying.
Have a good one ! :)

Psycho4Bud: Dang..I apologize..I didn't mean to bring up what got GS in trouble before,I reckon that's the second knee-jerk reaction that I had today..sorry about that.:o
I really do just want to discuss how we feel about the issues and not git into any mud-slingin.

Well, if you stopped for all of the people lying in the streets, you'd have to stop working. That's just the way it is. I've seen (and experienced) enough tragedy in my day for 10 lifetimes, and I wouldn't begrudge someone that's down on their luck a break, but it's not my fault that many of these people are on the drunk, or drugged out on bad stuff, the majority of the time.
The world is made up of people that have parents and they've screwed up - big time. I don't buy your "missing component" theory at all. The childfree pay enough money in taxes for schools, health care, etc. for other people's children and we don't need to be told that we are incomplete. If having babies meant something in the realm of intelligence, cockroaches are the smartest creatures in the world.
P.S. I'm in Washingon DC right on vacation, in a "good" area, and I've seen far more homeless people than I see in New York City every day.

No.....not scared yet.
I consider myself an intellectual terrorist because I like to go after the oppressive Establishment with words. Never anything associated with violence.

"Never anything associated with violence" makes me laugh coming out of Great Spirit's keyboard. He went on his enforced vacation 31 days ago as a raving, barking lunatic, threatening the wrath of the world and the "Elite" and the on all those of us who refused to believe his second-hand Alex Jones predictions.
Now he returns, still a raving, barking lunatic. Promising dirty bombs. Staged terror attacks. Prison camps. And adding yet another delusional and contradictory component, too: a Deepak Chopra-modeled non-violence attitude, at least in this thread. The Chopra tone might be enjoyable simply because it's refreshing. Except that he assured us in the "O'Reilly" and "American Prison Camps" threads he intends to hang himself.
You say you're on a higher plane of truth, GS. But those of us who read your ravings here know the real problem is that you're deeply, truly, abidingly and certifiably nuts. It frightens me how much I want to ask if I can mail you a lovely length of rope. . . 12 feet, perhaps? Maybe about 22mm? In a nice European hemp?
