More people die off legal drugs because taking them is more widely accepted in society. I know older people who take vikodin all of the time but when it comes to heroin, they are like "fuck that" not even thinking that they are hooked on a painkiller, the same thing heroin is.

Now back to the weed thing, I did say weed is bad, the level of it's badness is nowhere near as high as other drugs (including tobacco and alchahol).

Saying weed is not bad for you is ignorant, admitting it's not as bad as your government claims is correct. Smoking anything is bad for you from the start, plus throw in smoking as a teen. I know for a FACT that I am mentally addicted (as in all I think about when im not high is getting high and when im sober im very grumpy/unmotivated) and weed has effected all my scheduling (but not my schoolwork).

bump, ive been having arguements with kids are school about pot

today in class, one kid said i did drugs, and i said " i don't do drugs, i smoke weed" and hes like dont even say weed isnt a drug. and i said, "well alcohol is a drug also, and you always talk about wanting to get wasted, so hey look youre a drug abuser"

then we talked about how alcohol is worse than pot. anyone want to shed some light on the topic?

IT only hurts the people who use, while the government and drug dealers get rich!

It creates a market for crime, violence and suffering.

Thats why alcohol prohibition was DX'd.

The government preventing me from doing what I please with my own body is the most vile of infringments upon presonal liberty. No different then if the governmetn was run by atheists, and they outlawed believing in god.

Interesting about alcohol. I was never a big drinker, I used to party and I would get F'd up, but those weren't a common occurance. After I got out of the service, I started drinking, it quickly evolved into full blown alcoholism. I was waking up @ 6 am to start drinking beer. I was consuming roughly 40 beers a day.

The withdrawl sypthoms from alcohol are very painful. I was shaking, hungry from never eating, but never wanting to eat.

I was quickly broke and doing dumb things like driving drunk, real drunk. Finally I caused an accident, totalled my truck that was almost payed off and have been fucked ever since. Alcohol has defaintly had a negative impact on my life.

I can honestly that pot has not. The only harm that has come from smoking pot is in the form of outside forces (Cops) busting me for pot. I function great as does my wife.

Now I need to go get some beer. later.
