Ya, the first time I tried weed, I didn't get high. I'm pretty sure it was because I wasn't inhaling it right. Make sure to inhale it into your lungs, not just your mouth. I find it helps to, before exhaling the smoke, inhale a bit of normal air, to make sure the hit you just took gets into your lungs. It's hard to explain lol But after a few tries, you get the hang of it!
definitely have to inhale it right. have your friend hit a bong and make sure she clears it... then you know she inhaled. and make sure she smokes a lot.
i smoked cigs for about 6 months before i smoked weed, so i knew how to inhale the right way

the first time i smoked weed i was all alone in my dads room(he had just killed himself) i knew where he put his weed and pipe, and had seen him do it enough times to know how to work the carb. i took a hit, held it in, and didnt feel shit so i took another, then another and another, i smoked a whole bowl to my head and dint feel anything. then about a half an hour later i start to feel really funny and when my mom came home and opened the door and saw my dad just layin on the floor she asked me what ahppened and i just started bustin up laughin. i smoked what i know now today to be creeper weed.
So your dad was still in the room dead as you were getting toasted? Were you there when he actually did it? Sorry about the morbid curiosity.
he was in the living room, i saw him when i came home from schools, towels arranged in a circle around him, on the table i found a note saying "clean the mess up before your mom and sister get home, dont touch the gun" that satisfy your morbid curiousity?

i think its cus first timers dont know what being high is like, so they have no idea how to know if they are high or not unless its intense enough, they prolly wont recognize it
OK, thanks for all the responses. Here's our plan so far:
1) I'm gonna let her take a few hits off a bowl a week or two beforehand, as would go along with the THC-receptors theory people mentioned.
2) I'm going to buy some high quality hydro (Imported from Cali, $25/Gram), and she's expressed an interest in starting with a bong. I'm gonna make sure she'll take a huge rip the first time, then we'll smoke a joint as I'm sure one hit of hydro from a bong is really gonna hit a newcomer hard <<
