I'm personally not that picky, I break up the bud pretty well though. Usually to a dust consitancy. It would usually have very tiny pecies of stem in it but whatever, their only like .1mm big. If it's for a joint ill make sure it's pure though.
My dealer takes FOREVER to break it up. We have whole conversations in the time it takes him, then by the time we smoke we can't think of anything to talk about. Seriously takes about 20 minutes per bowl. Its ridiculous

I can't imagine spending $200 a week on any(one)thing, I'm a save-save-save kinda guy.
But yeah, when I mooch off other people, whatever they want is what they get, you should tell your friends to fuck themselves if they think it takes too long, you pay for it.

I like this guy. You can tell that when you go to his house to smoke he'd probably give you all his stems and leaves that you can bring home and smoke when you're dry.
But I also disagree and think he would actually be great in the circle because he would make perfect guranteed joints. He may be obsessive, but I'm a health freak and a bud only joint sounds like heaven. I don't care if it takes up to an HOUR for him to make a perfect blunt or so, I'd just watch tv or something. Yo, you think your friends are bad? I remember some dude who would just take a pinch of weed and shove it in his shitty resinated pipe he never cleaned and just smoke it. I would always be like YO BREAK IT UP! But he just doesn't care... Weed is an expensive habit but a very enjoyable one and because of that, I damn well better have a good smoke if I'm gonna smoke at all or it'll feel like a fuckin waste.
