well i know for a fact that where i live it has the biggest forest in england (150 sq miles) so police are always suspecious of growing outdoors, but for growing indoors, i do live in a small humblw town, but where i live is a overflow of london basically, in the 1900 or earlier workers from london came to this town basically to work so its fairly rough, but i live on the decent side of town (no trouble whatsoever)
as for police choppers, yeh i always hear a form of helicopter going over atleast everyday, but by the sound of them, them go over a pretty decent height, like i wud say perhaps 100-200meters. but i reli dunno i dnt think police in this area have thermal imaginin in their cars, jus perhaps on their choppers to catch crooks on the run.
oh yeh n i watch street crime uk alot on bravo. n also police camera action, and no u cant see inside ppls houses with thermal imaging all it does is give off a possitive white light if sum1 is running thru a forest or something.

ONLY gonna grow 10 or 20 plants every two months? 20 plants, or even 10, can be a LOT of plants! Check out the picture here...of three plants. Then in your mind, mentally multiply what you see by seven. Heh. (And that's a pretty big cabinet!) I'd recommend you start small, and work your way up. ;)

BTW, for U.S. people, the federales cannot use thermal imaging on you unless they already have a warrant for other reasons. The Supreme Court has already ruled that thermal imaging constitutes a search, and you can't search someone's home without a warrant. So they CAN thermally image you, but they need a reason to get a warrant first.

jamstigator Loving the setup !!
we don't bother with all that.. we just tremble everytime we hear a chopper or squad cars with sirens.
We just ensure adequate air flow and stable room temps, although we do make use of the chimney for exaust as oppose to window boxes and vents directly outside.. And last but not least, a simple heavy curtain and pole with the window open all the time for air in.
do what u can while the cops build evidence (if they even are), you might make enough to get bail and not go to jail one day as money answereth all things

In england, I don't think they got enough choppers to dedicate a special task unit to spy from the air for grow ops. It would be a waste of tax payers money. They could use them Corona and KH-xx series low orbiting (sp)eyes in the skies if they really wanted to on the otherhand, but they ent allowed to use much of this information because it is an infringement on peoples privacy.. they just do enough to keep scaring others into submission and not taking up the HPS and saying I WILL BECOME SELF SUFFICIENT!
How do police report having seen 6 600W lights on from a few miles away in a chopper. They're either paid to look at everyones roof top or they have been given info from informants. I don't think they can purely go on heat signatures unless it was major where it looked like a house on fire through the thermal-cam, but the house was fine through binoculars. Then there is no escaping... I dunno! If someone has a book that explains the law I be will ing to buy a copy, I just tend to forget about em and keep em over there by any means necessary...

yeh i exactly see wot u r saying, and plus great news which i am reli happy about, new digital lights have come out on the market, they last over 10X longer than normal bulbs possibily longer, they generate less heat but like 30-60% more lumens and there not very expensive (£135 for 600w w.ballist n reflector) so that will b another possitive thing, bcoz it generates fuck all heat, there will b no need 2 put a squirrel fan in the grow room =)

I can tell you that a guy I played softball with worked for the state troopers and you guessed it, he flew a chopper.
He tried to sell me arial pictures of my house, said it was his side business, all the people he knows, he flys over their house takes a picture and then tries to sell it to them.
Well I asked him what else he does in his free time if hes got so much of it, he tells me he flys around looking for people who grow pot. Says outside its a different color than the rest of the trees and plants, and indoors they have Thermal and can see everything. Told me that what you see on TV for thermal is 100x worse than what he sees in his chopper.
I say isnt it against the law to thermally search someones house? He says yes, but what he does then is jot down the adress and pass it on the someone in narcatics, and that they will send someone out to the house or whatever to check things out.
Said they come to your door asking to use the phone at 3 am, and then look for your bong, or if they smell anything. Or anything else they can get you on while they are there, they wont bust you on the spot tho, you let them in, they then take back any info they can get a warrant with and come back when they have a warrant.
Its a process thats for sure, and more than likley they will have to put tons of effort into it, more than its worth for a guy with one light.

Well, there's a lesson to be learned there: don't let the cops into your house, for any reason, ever, unless they have a warrant in hand and it explicitly allows them to do so. Letting them in voluntarily is just plain unwise. If they came to my door at 3 AM, I'd probably call the cops on THEM. ;)
I live on a jurisdictional boundary. 50 feet away is county, and my zipcode is county, but I am, legally and technically, in the city. I remember I had some music blaring one evening, a bit after 9 PM, and after 9 PM in the county, there's some law that proscribes loud music. However, in the city it's 10 PM. Well, these county cops show up and try to hassle me, to which I reply: 'Guys, I know you're trying to do your job, but you might wanna get back to your own jurisdiction.' Man, they were pissed!
