i'll answer you! You need at least a 600-1000 watt lamp to grow 1 oz per sf; Among other things(check out britewire's new thread/how-to grow successfully)...that is approximately what my room potential is; Using a 1000w hortilux...just added 1000w mh agrosungold to room:D :D :D we'll see how it goes...I am anxious as to how much AC I will have run to cool it!...hope this helps lwQuote:

For CFL is;
2700K = 0.38gr/Watt (proven estimate from www.smartlight.nl)
2100K = 0.50gr/Watt (proven estimate from www.smartlight.nl)

Induction lights are really fucking expencive so I'll use HPS

Thanks for the replies, I think my setup is going to be a little more effective in that i've completely encased my grow space in floro. something like 1900watts and i'm picking up through reading (mostly brightwire's stuff) that much attention has to be paid to the medium and nutes etc. I'm cooking up a ghetto co2 source (yeast/milkjug) and a fan probably wont hurt. Other than that look out for my grow thread and thanks a lot for the info.
First time had 6 2foot fl tubes and 6 26w cfls in a 3wX1dX4h box, three 2ft females yielded less than a half oz total. HID lighting is the way to go, use the cfls in your lamps and house fixtures to offset the cost of running HID in the "area".
you need to concentrate on the basics of growing weed and not on ghetto co2 jugs...It has to be above 85(88 ideal) degrees for co2 to be effective.
the biggest factor here, has not even been mentioned.
What type of system/grow are you doing? It was nice of britewire to look things up for you, but with your inexperience, you are asking the wrong question's.
If you know you are growing with cfl's...just say so...then folks around here can help you. But, I think you are putting the cart before the horse.
Make a solid plan before you germ those good genetics and waste them.
you DO NOT need co2 until you have harvested a decent yielding plant and have developed a clue as to what you are doing. Hope you take this to heart, lw
I had 2 4ft shop lights and 1 42 true watt cfl and manage to get 2 1/2 ounces off 1 plant
keep in mind, bud-weight can vary widely, due to differences in drying, and some people aren't as thorough with their 'manicuring' of a finished bud ... I've met growers claiming over two ounces a plant .. it was easy, they just weighed everything but the roots :D ... oh, well ... :smokin:
Yield depends of strain and stile of growing. The gr/watt ratio depends of lamps efficiency (150HPSs or Enviros are in a different leage than 600 or 1000w HPS).
I use a good producer (NL) in SOG, without any veg, with CFLs (DuluxL 55w) and obtain about 0,35-0,4 gr/w (real watts, total consumed watts) in 2 months (about 0,2gr/w per month).
