I can say that I have never really found an answer good enough for that question accept for the answer I have inside witch is :there are no answers only choices. In a world where anything is possible, nothing is a lie, we are all but slaves to sensation and that all boils down to a matter of preference. One of my best friends just got accepted into Baylor University[to those who dont know Baylor stand at the forefront of all medical technology and sciences] and is doing research in the neuroscience field, over the corse of 5 years he has went from what he thought he wanted to where he is now all in search of the question, Why are we here and what are we . Hes been through Psychology, Anatomy, and now neuroscience. Everytime we visit the conversations are very enlightening and I baffle him with my understanding and ability to relate and open his eyes to my own unschooled observations in a degree you cant get from college. He feels that the brain cuases organically everything that we experience that we call spiritual or metaphysical. I tell him man that to understand such a thing with your lab experements will not lead you any closer to the true essence of the thing witch we call metaphysical and he calls sub atomic.
Yes you can use a certain tool to complete a job to a certain extent to broaden your knowledge upon something that is totally not of the same element you are applying to understand it.However it is like using a phillips screwdriver to loosen a flattip screw. I say this and it baffles him and all his school taught and bought education witch is no way a waste for it initself is knowledge and power but he wants to use this knowledge to attain spirituality and what I call the supernature of the universe and i say you cant do it that way because thats what it is, you cant cut a piece of it off with your scalpel and disect and inject and observe with your man made tools you must use its tools and element to understand it better.
From a science standpoint he believes that everything we know is all that exixist so far and I always disagree I tell him what if all that we know and we think is real and encompasses our reality is nothing compared to the knowledge that awaits beyond human comprehension. In that case all that we know and feel is so powerful and great may just be like a pissant in his world thinking and feeling its bigger than all else because thats all he knows.
My point? My equation is the best way I have seen to become more than we are and grow or evolve is to remain dynamic and adjust on the fly to whatever comes our way so that one day we might achieve the enlightenment that will cease our questioning of why we are here to what we really want to do with what we have.
To help create a paradise of sorts for future generations. In other words, be good stewards to creation, and everything in it. The point is to help our species evolve into something better, and once we have evolved, all one must do is maintain, and enjoy life to the fullest.
Our purpose is to help usher in this new erra of civilization,
In my opinion, anyway...
To eat tater tots
My friend, being a father, believes that we exist simply to create more life. Basically the point of life is to create life, or so he believes anyway, me.... i believe it's different for everyone, like everyone has their own destiny,, not "god has a plan for us all" cuz it's up to you to find out your purpose in life. Forge your own destiny, write your own story, but only you can decide how that story ends.
The point of life is to live. Plain and simple.
We are all going to be someones slaves I think because if you notice we don't need to use our brains as much as we used to.So many things have been invented to make life easier for us and all it does is make us more lazier and stupider.
Maybe the Devil :stoned:

Its a shame how people fail to appreciate what others have striven hard to achieve. Self respect, is a good first step to not becoming stupider or lazier.
Maybe another excuse: who knows
"The planet will be here for a long, long, LONG time after we're gone, and it will heal itself, it will cleanse itself, 'cause that's what it does. It's a self-correcting system. The air and the water will recover, the earth will be renewed, and if it's true that plastic is not degradable, well, the planet will simply incorporate plastic into a new pardigm: the earth plus plastic. The earth doesn't share our prejudice towards plastic. Plastic came out of the earth. The earth probably sees plastic as just another one of its children. Could be the only reason the earth allowed us to be spawned from it in the first place. It wanted plastic for itself. Didn't know how to make it. Needed us. Could be the answer to our age-old egocentric philosophical question, 'Why are we here?' Plastic...asshole." —George Carlin
To learn. Then to die with more knowledge then when you first arrived.
