A, have more of an intrest in what you are learning

I already have weighed out my options. I've listed the pros and cons and I've thought this all through very carefully. And I've decided that dropping out is the best of my available options. I simply cannot come up with a single good reason to stay.

Id say get the diploma and then move on to whatever you want to do man.. might as well get credit for the 3 years your already 3/4 the way done.. take the chance to make some friends. i am sorta in the same boat as you cept i don't go to college i rent a 1 bedroom apartment and live alone... only know a few friends mostly older then me, i never had any friends in HS i know what its like. Exactly. I am in debt and I'll have to pay off my student loans, but there's not much I can do about that now. At least I picked the cheapest of my top choices when I was choosing a school.

I have one more year of college left and I want to get out really. My major is Mass Comm. Thinking of switching to Theology. I still have no idea what I want to do and I hate living with my parents. They smoke cigarettes constantly and the house smells like a big ashtray.

Personally I go to somewhat of an elite school and get a partial scholarship. the girls are pretty cute, but they are mostly stuck up bitches so i dont even pay attention really. its just like high school. i just go to school then go to work so i don't party at all. my concept of party is smoking weed and watching TV. i'm more worried about the 9/11 effects and upcoming war with iran. i get decent grades i guess. no less than a C. its a lot of rich kids in a shitty ghetto so thats ironic. its a catholic school so i love the religion classes.

but i am introverted myself, but not really in a mentally ill way. i have to have solitude. i have to be alone for many hours myself. i am a pisces so its a rule for me! i have friends that i go out with sometimes, but i prefer to be with just one friend at a time or be alone and smoke weed and watch a movie or do my school work.

My parents aren't paying for my school; I am (in the future). So I don't see what I "owe" them. I'm an adult now, and I have to start making my own independent decisions.

My parents aren't going to beat me. And if they threatened to, I'd do the exact opposite of what they wanted. If somebody can't explain to me why I should do something and they have to result to childish threats, I'm not going to take them seriously.

What will my parents get out of it? They aren't going to agree with it, but I can't expect them to like every single thing I do with my life. I have to be myself and live my life the way I want to live it. I can't just bow down to the expectations of other people all the time. I've been doing that my whole life and I'm not going to tolerate it anymore.

I'm not fucking myself over. I really just don't see any positive thing that I can get out of this diploma. I've woken up from the American dream. I've realized that money and "occupational success" are not the same thing as happiness. Happiness comes from living freely, creating beautiful things, nurturing loving relationships, appreciating nature, pursuing hobbies, learning about the world, and a million other things, but not from money.

I think you'll find that not finishing your degree will leave you with little to no ability to find work in your field of choice. My buddy was in CS and had to leave due to financial reasons and even though he's smart as hell with computers, they won't give him much more to do than monkey work because he didn't finish his degree. Take a semester off. Where would you go, what would you do? Try to find a job. See how you like it. Most likely any job you get won't be permanent and will be accepting if you say I've decided to finish up school. By then you could get your single dorm room again. Don't give up on school, it'll just start you down the road of building a habit of giving up. Do what you gotta do to be happy, but you can get out of living with others by just taking a semester off. Go home, chill, smoke some bowls, do some soul searching. Then go back to school when you can get your own room again, have things the way you like it and get'r'done. one more year after that and then you ahve 60-70 years to live in the real world. Myself... I'm in no hurry to join the real world. The real world, no matter how hard you try, has 10x more responsibilities and from the sound of it you don't handle responsibility and stress too well, or haven't learned to yet.

I know people who would have killed to be able to attend college! I think you're making a mistake, bro...

Do what you gotta do, but think about it good, and hard before making any decisions of this caliber.

You're talking about your life here...I'd hate to see you screw it up over some fleeting emotional ferver you may be dealing with...

yea man im with u...college is for people that want to be conformed to societys standards of living and how u work the next 40 years of your life 9 to 5 in a college getten job....retire....go to a rest home and die....like the movie Layer Cake but in a sence of this aspect.. lifes too short ot do this and to live your life well u have to think beyond the box...unlike college which tells u what to do and where to work after school...im soo with u...im in a 4 year rit now payin godly for somthing that is goin ot setme up in this catch 22...u dont have to have a degree to be success full... as of rit now im dropin off of school and starting a bussiness where ican see it being the next big thing..its just u have to find somthing thats goin to set u apart from just the rest of the "wannabees" and this world and make u free
