Cannabis was here long before the birth of "Christ." If I was getting pelted with rocks and nailed up on a board, I had better have some damn weed in me!

Gods were invented in mankind's childhood because of our infantile fears—our fear of aging and death, as well as our fear of the unknown. Nobody knows what we experience after death, and it's very likely that we experience nothing, that this is the only life we have to live. But that is a frightening prospect, so man invented a whole afterlife world populated with gods and angels to take away the fear of being temporary.
Gods were also a convenient explanation for what you don't understand. Nobody likes to say "I don't know", to admit that their knowledge of how the world works is extremely limited. Ancient man peered up into the night sky and saw the stars move across the heavens every night, and he had no idea what the fuck was going on. So he made up stories to explain it. There's a big man, up there, you see. He made all of this with his hands, including a big globe of stars around our planet which he turns. This is the same man, of course, who sends the lightning bolts from the sky, who causes the earthquakes, who creates disease and who gave rise to the diversity of life that we see around us. Whenever man lacked the correct scientific explanation for something, he said "God did it", investigated no further and felt content to have an explanation for everything. But now science is beginning to explain the world. We no longer need gods to produce our lightning and earthquakes, to turn the stars about and to give us diseases. Therefore the holdouts of God-belief have retreated to those extremely complex issues which modern science hasn't been able to deal with yet: human consciousness and the origin of the universe. But the day is coming when we will be able to explain even those with natural law and logic, and God will have faded into the depths of history. Humanity will have finally outgrown its imaginary father figure, and will be prepared to deal with its problems on its own, to create a heaven here on earth instead of tolerating misery in the hopes of a nice afterlife.

What about the dinosaurs though? There is nothing about them in the bible, so who created the dinosaurs? The trees? Water? and plants that they ate?
Dinosaurs were here thousands of years before Christ, so God must have created them, according to him anyways, but there is no mention about them.
Just pondering, that's all.

i've wondered the same thing.

The dinosaurs are not needed for us to obtain the "perfect peace" that the Bible eludes to, but, they appear to be God's first attempt at Man. On a less-spiritual note, they never learned how to smoke cannabis, which could've prevented cell-degeneration and, possibly, extinction.

I dont find the bible to be a great story - its kind of a yawner and more than a little preachy - the only part written with any literary style is the Book of Esther.
