Yeah, maybe the lab has only been around for a hundred years or so, but psychology could date as far back as Socrates, I'm sure it's further, but I can't recall the dates too well at the moment. Although they may have been consider philosophers--their philosophies were based around man and the mind, sense and perception, all kinds of great stuff! I picked up a book recently, appropriately titled, The History of Psychology by William S. Sahakian. I'm sure you'll dig it.
