I just got back from seeing U2, and they dedicated tonights show to John Lennon. They did three or four Beatles songs...Sgt. Peppers's lonely hearts club band, Instant Karma, and a couple of others...great show.
That was very nice of U2 to do. I was reading an article with Bono, I respect U2 more than I did some 15-20 years ago. I also see they performed in the tribute concert for John.

I posted early to spread the word. I wanted everyone to know that on THIS day Lennon died at the age of 40. Last October he would have been 64. He's son Julian song and recorded "when I'm 64" in honor of his dad.

I remember when I was 4 or 5, somewhere around there, my mother used to always play Lennon when she would drive me to daycare. I used to ask her why the sound was so good, and pictured Lennon as the only person who made music...yeah. I have since then discovered many other talented musicians just as good as Lennon, but I still have a special place in my mind and ear for him and a deep admiration for his music.
