I went in the opposite direction. When I was 16, I bought my first guitar and amp for $100 and three free lessons came with it. He taught me "Broon's Bane", the instrumental by Alex Lifeson, on the classical guitar, leading into "The Trees", on Exit...Stage Left by Rush.Quote:

Ah, my first lesson came from a fifteen year old pimply faced friend of mine when I was ten. He taught me "Come As You Are" by Nirvana.. perfect song for a beginner, no? I ran to the library the next day, and picked up the lamest guitar video known to man. Taught me how to tune, and how to play my first six (or so) chords. My second song: Skip To My Loo!
