New Orleans cops beat innocent 64 year old man

I hate the GD cops, my School Resorce Officer trys to get me to fight him almost every time he sees me... just so he can arrest me cause I chewed his ass up one day. fuckin pigs...

you can find it at cnn.com. when i woke up yesterday morning and found cnn, this was the story that was being covered. there was no reason for this man to be arrested, much less beat up. the same cop that punched the dude, also went to a guy in the crowd of people watching and grabbed him by his shirt. i guess he was telling the guy to shut the hell up, or else he'd get his ass kicked, too.
police officers are cowards. from what i saw, it looked like the officer was twisting the man's neck, trying to get him over on his stomach. i thought he was trying to kill him, and probably was - hateful ass cops.

The secretary will also be tasked with overseeing all foreign and domestic affairs, including those relating to the economy, natural disasters, national infrastructure, homeland security, poverty, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The secretary will report directly to the president.

For weeks, members of both political parties have been urging Bush to fill the post.

"Every day the president waits is another day he's accountable for needless deaths at home and abroad, the stagnating economy, and the threat of terrorism," Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said. "This post is far too vital to be left vacant. Mr. President, there is no reason to delay."

"I applaud the president's decision to find a strong leader for our country, but it's imperative that he make his selection soon," said Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), adding that he and all Democrats hope to work closely with the new national executive.

"In the spirit of bipartisanship, we will welcome the new secretary," Reid said. "Together, we will strive for a new dawn of American politics, one unmarred by partisan bickering between Congress and the White House."

According to a nationwide poll conducted by the Cook Political Report, the majority of U.S. citizens find the question of national leadership to be highly significant, with 61 percent of respondents "strongly" believing that the country is suffering from a leadership vacuum. Fifty-four percent said they trusted Bush to find an appointee who will be able to effectively manage the country.

While many Beltway insiders have named senators Barack Obama (D-IL) and John McCain (R-AZ) as likely candidates, White House sources revealed that Bush may be leaning toward a stalwart loyalist. The list reportedly includes fellow Yale graduates, Midland, TX business associates, and various GOP fundraisers with connections to the Bush family.

"Despite their inexperience in government, they've clearly passed the Bush character test," said a White House staffer who spoke on the condition of anonymity. "I think the president is looking for someone he's comfortable with and can trust, above all else. A [former FEMA director] Michael Brown type, or maybe even Brown himself."

Bush said the creation of the Secretary of the Nation post directly addresses the increasingly complex and sometimes overwhelming challenges facing the executive branch in the 21st century. Although he acknowledged that the tasks facing the new appointee will be extraordinary, Bush ended his announcement on a positive note.

"As your president, it is my duty to see this nation through any crisis, no matter how severe. And as your president, I pledge to you that I will find a man capable of doing just that," Bush said. "I will notâ??I repeat, I will notâ??let you down."

dont go judge ALL of the police ARE assholes. i know a fair share of po`s who are actually nice civil people. really just the ones who dont care about weed. i have smoked a joint with a cop that was off duty. one of my cousin`s good freinds.he was a cool guy i guess. i kept thinking he was going to pull out a gun and bust me :o but he didnt he was cool

Hell yes man! Get a real nazi as our President, not some wanna-be like Bush. Arnold is trying his best to get what's left of the Constitution changed so he can become President as we speak I imagine. My bet for 2008 is on Hillary though. I also bet she'll fuck it up more then Bush has already.

As for the retired teacher, he probably looked like an easy target to the restless cops in New Orleans. He wasn't drunk and clearly does not resist arrest(unless resist means holding up your arms from flailing fists.) Be interesting to see a riot maybe. Only to show the "forces" that the people will fight back if provoked.

Power corrupts, and has corrupted for all of human history. That's just what power does in the vast majority of cases. No government, no aristocracy, no military, no police force has ever been able to escape that axiom. Police forces are designed to use violence to enforce rules forced upon society by legislators, whether they believe in them or not, and thus institute a certain hypocrisy in all their members. And since they have a monopoly of violence over their jurisdiction, they operate in essentially the same way as any other gang that has a monopoly of violence over a piece of territory. I detest any member of a group which asserts its power over others through violence, whether they wear uniforms or not.
