I won't buy either edition of the new Xbox. I almost bought one (of the original) several times since it was released, especially after Live! was introduced. I have abstained because I have always considered console gaming inherently behind the times. I'd rather spend $300 to upgrade my graphics card every few years in my PC than replace a console. A console with absolutely no resale value I might add.
Consoles are quickly becoming simple, modular computers. I think it is a better investment to build one yourself at this point.
computers are definately better...if you have a fat enough wallet...i'm gettin the 400 dollar x-box 360 and am spending nearly 1/4 of the money i made workin all summer for it...it'll be worth it though...definately gonna pick up madden 06 and ball that against some chumps online...i already got my 360 pre-ordered so i plan on gettin the system at midnight then smokin a couple bowls and then ballin some madden all crunked up...i can't wait :D
i find the ps3 is a giant compared to 360 a joke.....oh how people know nothing about hardware
im getting $400 one just because all the accessories seperate are like $220,better AI is capable on 360 also, search around for elder scrolls oblivions AI every npc has its own priorities and does them how they want, they were having troubles with guards and stuff because theyed leave there post to hunt just because they were hungry and another time the whole town decided to eat at the same resteraunt and everyone got looted by a robber
personally PS3 offers nothing interesting to me,built in hub wtf i dont want that,7 bluetooth controllers again dont care, besides the controller looks like a double sided dildo
Some form of "artificial intelligence" effect is required in every game where you battle the computer. It isn't real intelligence, though, so I think perpetuating it as such is a mistake. Games make reactions based on user-input. This is nothing special. The Xbox, especially, is a nice piece of obsolete x86 hardware with fancy built-in features that have existed since USB was added to mainboards. I'm pretty sure I had a 166mhz Pentium with on-board USB...
By MS's own statements, the Xbox is gearing up to take a more central media role in the household, away from pure gaming. I'm just not interested in a console hacked together to play media center for $400 only a month before Christmas.
so sony is throwing in stupid useless features like 7 controllers dual 1080P displays(which is impossible for it to run, that would take insane memory bandwidth)built in hub, multiple usb plugs ectQuote:
