Quick thought..

I'm not sure about about making every drug legal...but did you know that the dea has the power to mandate what drugs are legal and what drugs are illicit (schudule 1). Thanks to Nixon it no longer takes an act of congress to declare a drug's legality. So if you are a big pharmecutical corporation you pay the gov money to okay your drug. People do drugs , they have for centuries, the government wants you to buy their drugs and make money or sieze property from "'illicit" drug users dealers growers or what have you. I am just mad that a natural herb with medicinal properties and psychotropic abilities is illegal. Pot is better than half these perscription drugs out there! and it's better for you. It comes from the Earth not from a bunch of chemicals in a corporate lab! put that in your pipe and smoke it!!!!!

I never claim that weed is good for you (though there is evidence that it is). I don't think it's pros and cons matter in the slightest. What matters is that it is not the job of the government to decide if we choose to partake in "victimless crimes". That is to say, there should be no such thing as a consensual crime.

then what about coke or ecstacy. surely you would also classify the intake of these drugs as the same class as simply smoking a joint?would these not also be considered 'consensual crimes'? its not that im against it, just tryin to get a better understanding...

the reason that it is illegal is because of many reasons, 1 racism minorities (mexicans) brought the custom to the us white people used this as a way to control them or oppression. 2 Henry Anslinger was the drug czar from the 1920's -the 60's he hated pot. ANy way there is a couple reasons..... you should rent the movie grass and find out more for your self. It is a history of pot in the us! also i thought what i wrote before in this thread waere some reasons too.
