so the main kola is removed.. the secondary spots become the 'successors' and grow.. so referring to the other thread, about topping at 8in and growing at 8in.. would it be better to PINCH at 17in, since it stops the growth? say buds form nicely on the secondaries.. whta happens if i pinch those too? I actually got stoned, went to Home Depot...I got the tub, the fans, the tubes...the lava rock and everything else i need.

all i need is the PRO-MIX (why grow in anything else)...the flower house i get it from is closed till spring...so i will have to find another nursery that has it or I need to order online.

I will just build this unit and do the goddamned grow myself and post pics fer ya!

you top the plant, cutting the main cola, two more grow in its' place, you top those two and now you have four main colas.....
this technique enables the plant, along with some LST, to grow horizontally.....
the growth never stops....
the plant heals itself and continues to grow(the vegetation time is much longer though).....
using these techniques it grows more horizontally than vertical becoming a bush style plant....
attention though, not all strains respond the same way to topping, most of the strains have no problem with it, while others like Chronic (that grow buds mainly at the main cola) do not respond well when topped......
propably the best technique to apply is the low stress training(LST) where you do not have to make any cuttings and stress the plant halting its' growth.....
you just bend the branches and tie them down...the overall yield is increased because the light reaches the lower parts of the plant and new growth shoots appear.....and all these happen with no stress at all:)

If it's that confusing then just don't do it.

This is supposed to be fun and stressing like that is not fun. They are all just different techniques of growing. Not everyone can stress grow or even crop plants. LST is one thing but only if you need to keep them low or is the light can't penetrate to the lower parts of the plant.

They are all just techniques. Each one has a positive and a negative side. You the grower are responsible to know the difference and apply the correct technique to achieve your projected outcome. Get some experience before you mess around with different techniques of cultivation. First time around only mess with one or two plants to learn and compare to your control crop for overall yield, quality, ease of growth and time to grow.

topping/cropping/pinching all basically give the same result, but depends on my personal preference or circumstance.
