It's different when you actually see someone buy it. I think we can carry on with a healthy dose of denial in everyday life, but when it's close and personal, you can't ignore mortality in general, or your own in particular.

I saw a similar fatal accident about 10 years ago; a guy riding something big & fast (I forget what) passed about 4 or 5 cars at once, mine included. on a 2 lane country road. He must have still been pretty much wide open when he hit the side of a car that'd pulled out of a parking lot up ahead.

No honeslty i dont feel bad about him dying. Hes a fucking dumbass. Yes if he was one of my good friends i would feel bad and sad, i would still consider him a dumbass tho. And that guy wasnt a good friend so why even see imagine if he was? You could saw that about everything in the world.... yeah

Like 4252 and sToNeDpEnGuIn420 said, it would be different if I actually saw it happen or if I knew the guy, but I hear stories about other people's deaths whenever I look at the news. I really honestly don't feel bad for the deaths of people I've never seen before. Everybody dies. Death is a part of the life cycle and we just have to accept it. If there were no death, life would suck (just think of how crowded the planet would be). The only reason I feel bad for anyone's death is because I know that I and other people I know will never get to see or talk to that person ever again, and that that personality I got to know so well will never be able to share its ideas or feelings with anyone. Now this guy, I don't know him and presumably neither does anyone I know, and I never knew anything about his ideas or personality, so the fact that he isn't around anymore doesn't affect my life in the slightest. I fail to see why I should feel any worse about him than for the other 100 people who died in the minute that it took you to read this post.

i find it disturbing that amsterdam seems amused by seeing someone die

Thats pretty insensitive, poor guy. I agree that he shouldn't have been doing that but people make stupid decisions on a daily basis, and by luck (or lack there of) those choices sometimes get them killed.

I disagree. If nobody ever died of a stupid choice, we would not be the most intelligent species on the planet. In order for intelligence to evolve, unintelligence needs to be filtered out somehow. Sorry if you think I'm insensitive just because I believe the species is more important than the individual, and that evolution through natural selection is a good thing even for humans.
