After clumsily dropping a 5' flourescent onto the top of their heads and a stressful day wrestling with PH iv decided that ive put them through enough.
So i put em up under HPS. The stalks are a little wonky on a couple but i think theyll be fine. I put them into my cowboy ebb n flow system and flushed em out with ph 4 water. The run off is now around 6 so hopefully i can control it from now on.
I reduced the day to 16 hrs and will reduce it by 2 hrs every second day until its at 12. Im hopin to see a lot of growth in the next few days. I've done some searching and it seems that the papaya get very bushy very quick. They'll be 27 days when 12/12 comes along and theyll do a bit more growing after that. Im hoping to clone a couple once sex has been estd. Is it ok to reveg a clone, like stick it under 18hr lights straight after being cut?
Anyway iv a few beans germing away so theyll have plenty time to veg out before the first batch is done.
Peace

Wavens ok but it would be better in square pipes, Its impossible to attach fittings to a curved pipe

I had to use RW cubes to buffer them on both sides or it would just wash away. Made a load of holes in it with a screwdriver so the water flows freely. Im trying to come up with some kind of mesh that i can glue to the pipes and do away with the rw altogether.
I think the PH is sorted out now though, I fed with PH 5.2 this morning and the run off was 5.7
I was reading about Advanced Hydroponics Micro. They say it has ph buffers in the solution to help with micronutrient uptake. Looks like i made a good choice:clap:

why dont you use hydroton in net pots and suspend them off your pipes you will prob need new pipes tho
im using something similar with a sheet of timber lying flat over my big tray with holes for my net pots and then my res fills up to bottom of the pot
ill post some pics on my log later my grow isnt completely dead yet lol hanging in there
anyway just a suggestion

Thats what im planning on doing next time round. It'l only be tenner for the pipes and ill drill out 3" holes with a holesaw and pop the net pots in like that.
Get some pics up of your plants in trouble, from what ive read almost anything is fixable with these fantastic plants.
Youre system would just as easily be used for DWC or bubbleponics if u got an airstone. No need for a pump or resevoir. Iv seen a lot like it

Update day 25, They seem to be doing ok except for one which has what i think is light burn, pic below. I trimmed off the damaged leaf and fimmed this one to see the results. It was the runt of the litter anyway.
They after bushing out bigstyle, only 5" tall but a foot across, one of em is still kinda small so im hoping that its not my only female??!
Started 12/12 on sun the 1st, they seem to be loving the nutes, no smell yet.
Temps were running real high so i had to invest in a good fan, got a kitchen extractor in b&q, does the trick nicely. I dont have a controller so i set it for 15 mins on 45 off. I had to change my intake vent to the ceiling because the air coming in was too cold. Taking air from the attic now so temps are holdin between 18-21. Gonna start them on bloom nutes next couple days. They were young so i kept em on grow nutes for a little longer.
Pics to follow
Peace
