PHONE TAP!!!!
I would go out there at night and make one cut at the wire/box, then another cut about 50 feet down the road. That way whoever has given you this little scare will be forced to either resplice extra cord to reconnect (which will take a little time) and with a watchful eye you will be able to see who it is. Or, they just give up and say fuck it. Either way, you win. peace :wtf:

PHONE TAP!!!!
Here in the US why worry about a wire tap? All the phones are tapped, and I no longer bother to talk in code. :smokin:

PHONE TAP!!!!
No it is not a phone tap, worked for the phone company for 13 years as both a switchman and repair splicer. When the police want a tap on a phone they do what is called a half tap or a computer based. A wire is run from your cable and pair at the frame to one for the line the police are using back at the station. This is the old way. The new way is computer based, where someone dials your number and the entire conversation is recorded. Watch the wire for more clarification.
The device you are seeing a buried wire splice case. It is used for buried wires which have been cut. You splice the wires and shoot two different kinds of gel into the device which will harden the case and the splice to the elements.
