Wow, this is getting ridiculous. My girlfriend was reading me an article last night talking about the low percentage of cases around the world. That it is beginning to affect Mexico, but still hasn't come close to the average death toll for yearly flu mutations. According to that article, the cases confirmed in the U.S. don't appear to even be life threatening. They interviewed a Mexican guy walking the streets without a trusty mask, and when they asked him why he wasn't being cautious like the rest of the population he said something to the extent of, "there are 109 million people here and about 100 have died, not exactly terrifying odds."
When I try searching for that article I can't even find it. All these articles talk about are the deaths and suspected cases around the world. No one even cares about reporting what is actually happening, they simply want to make it look as horrible as possible. I hope I do get the damn thing. Statistically, I will probably be extremely sick for a week or two, recover, and my immune system will get some much needed exercise.
There haven't been any reports of deaths anywhere other than Mexico. All other cases in other nations don't seem to be fatal...
Granted this is always a risk, but is anyone concerned about what portion of their stash may be coming from Mex? The ol "it gets killed in the fire" theory always sounds good, but I never know how valid that theory is for different types of bugs. Plus, you still have to handle it before the fire part happens.
I'm not too worried about it. I try to avoid Mex-mash anyway. But it has crossed my mind a few times.
good point! it's not like we got the FDA looking out for us.Quote:

Haha, if you want to have a little fun, put on your fatigues and the mask and walk around town for a little while. Unless you would get in trouble with your superiors. I suppose if a bunch of idiots saw you and thought the apocalypse was around the corner, you could be in for quit the shit storm.Quote:
