I agree with ya on that.....so what walk was it that Obama has EVER done? Palin has "walked the walk" as the Governor of Alaska where she enjoys a 80% approval rating. Beats the current President, Congress, Senate and even the lil' lord Obama. The way it sounds she did it without as much as one "present" vote either.:lol5:

You expected Palin to address all this plus more when we haven't even heard how Obama is going to do the same? And how much air time has that dude had? Her job last night was more/less to introduce herself to the voters and go after Obama in the same manner that Biden went after McCain. Problem is that she did a hell of alot better job.
LOL....I thought Keith Oberman was going to start crying last night; "oh, the way she picked on my boyfriend Obama".:sadcrying

I have posted an answer to everyone of your questions that you could not seem to "find" or maybe just did not want to find.
Could you do all us dumb KS hicks a favor and post Obama's "magical plan" for your own questions in response instead of just saying "oh blah, I am not going to read all that neo-con right wing propoganda blah blah," I posted exactly what you asked for right here: http://boards.cannabis.com/politics/...ml#post1908954

I think what many fail to realize is that dems and republicans have all become very similar in nature. In the end we are heading for socialism. Both parties will take us there.
The dems came out at thier convention with their Bush bashing about Iraq. Yet the dems are in control of congress and took control on the platform that they would get us out. All we got was more of the same. More funding for the war and nothing at all being done to put an end to it. They are all in this together dems and repubs.
Terrorism? Please, if you think the government can protect you then you are in for a big surprise. 3 trillion dollars spent on the war and we cant even find Bin Laden? Ok yea right.. The only reason for this war is to make the military industrial complex and big oil complex rich. Huge success there.
The fleecing of America has taken place right before our very eyes and all most Americans can do is ask for more. Makes me sick to be honest. 90% of America has no clue to what is really happening in this country and we are all being fed propaganda by the media. Cant blame them really, with taxes so high and the cost of living so high most people dont have the time to look at the real issues and what is really happening here.
With 10 trillion in debt and another 50-60 trillion in unfunded liabilities the system is doomed to fail. There is noone to borrow that money from? LOL..
Look for much higher inflation in the near future. Probably double digit next year. You think times are hard now wait until a year from now. The housing and credit crisis is just getting started. Forget what the media tells you, look at the real numbers and see for yourself. The media would tell you that housing sales are up year over year, the real numbers are that banks are buying their own foreclosures and those sales are being counted in those figures.. Yea looks good for a 20 second soundbite until you look a little deeper at the facts.
Bottom line is we are screwed no matter who gets in. Best place to put your money? Better stock up on food while you can still afford it. If you can grow your own then all the better.

McCain panicked and picked somebody had only met once before. It turns out she is just a gun-toting, anti-abortion, religious nut and ex-beaty queen. She has ruined several businesses and her experience consists of being a myor of a tiny town in Alaska. She's also in big-oil's pocket. Nice pick McCain.

I thought she did a pretty good job --- a lot better than I expected after having seen some of the other YouTube video posts of her looking like a total ding dong in previous speeches and interviews. She delivered the speech very well and got the crowd fired up.
The speech included a lot of attacks on Obama, which is to be expected at a convention. Often the role of the VP pick is to act as the attack dog, and she is defnitely up to that. There was some speculation as to wether Boden would have to go easy on her in the debates because it wouldn't look good beating up on a woman, but she's tough and definitely had the gloves off last night. Biden won't have to pull any punches --- he's free to skin her alive and gut her like a moose.
The speech was very short on specifics or even vague generalizations about what she and McCain would do. She also did not speak about her own personal agneda for things like making abortion illegal and teaching creationism in school. The speech was mostly about introducing herself, and getting a few digs in, and there is not enough time for real specifics, but one or two bits about what they plan to do would have been nice. Kush posted Palin's and Biden's speeches above. I've pulled from that text what I think they both said about what they plan to do:
Palin:
- Senator McCain also promises to use the power of veto in defense of the public interest
- Starting in January, in a McCain-Palin administration, we're going to lay more pipelines ... build more new-clear plants ... create jobs with clean coal ... and move forward on solar, wind, geothermal and other alternative sources.
Kush also highlighted a list of taxes that Palin claims Obama would raise and he "infers" that McCain would do the opposite. Sorry, Dude --- you don't get to infer that someone would do the opposite and than claim it as a campaign promise.
So basically she promised vetos and pipelines. That's not much.
Biden:
- Barack Obama will reform our tax code. He will cut taxes for 95 percent of the American people who draw a paycheck.
- Barack Obama will transform our economy by making alternative energy a national priority and in the process creating 5 million new jobs and finally, finally freeing us from the grip of foreign oil.
- Barack Obama knows that any country that outteaches us today will outcompete us tomorrow. That's why he'll invest in the next generation of teachers and why he'll make college more affordable.
- Barack Obama will bring down health care costs by $2,500 for the average family and at long last deliver affordable, accessible health care for every American.
- Barack will put more cops on the street, put security back in social security and he'll never ever ever give up until we achieve equal pay for women
- We will hold Russia accountable for its action and we will help Georgia rebuild.
At the Democratic convention, it was Obama's speech that really layed out the Democratic plan and agenda. Hopefully McCain will do the same when he speaks tonight. Attacks are fine in politics, but you need more than that. Eventually they will have to say what they are going to do about specific issues. They haven't even touched on any of that yet.

Well I would not say the either convetion is really mature. That's not usually what these things are about. But I would say that the tone of the Democratic convention was a more upbeat a less negative, and it offerred more substance.
Democrats piled legitimate criticism on the failed Republican adminstration that we are almost finally rid of, and they offered specifics about what they plan to do differently from that failed adminstration.
The Republican convention has not addresssed the failed Republican policies of the past 8 years and has not offered anything new that they would do differently. They have spent most of thier time bashing Obama over what they FEAR he will do, not about what he has said he would do, and they have offered nothing of what they plan to do.

I agree with this statement. And she has walked the walk.
If Obama was white he would not have gotten 10% of the votes he got, since he is just a black John Edwards.
